The elevator reached the top floor, and Lin Feng stepped out, walking straight to his office. Su Qing followed closely behind, handing him a document. "President Lin, here is the information you requested."
"Just leave it there," Lin Feng replied without taking it, heading directly to the floor-to-ceiling window to overlook the entire city. The bustling scene of City A unfolded before him, with cars flowing endlessly, yet there was not a single place that offered him a moment of peace.
"You shouldn't have provoked Chen Qiang," Su Qing said softly as she approached him. "He's someone who holds grudges. You embarrassed him in front of so many people; he definitely won't let it go easily."
"I know," Lin Feng's voice was low and calm. "But if he dares to act, he should bear the consequences. I won't let him get away with it."
"But..." Su Qing wanted to persuade him further but was interrupted by Lin Feng's wave of his hand.
"I know what I'm doing," Lin Feng turned around, his gaze firm. "Don't worry, I have the ability to protect myself and my company."
Su Qing looked at the man before her, filled with admiration and concern. She knew that Lin Feng was a responsible and courageous person, but the enemy he faced was a large and complex family force. This struggle was bound to be exceptionally difficult.
Meanwhile, Chen Qiang sat in his mansion, furious as he smashed the wine glass in his hand into pieces. Glass shards flew everywhere, and the servants trembled in fear but dared not step forward to clean up.
"Lin Feng! You bastard!" Chen Qiang roared, his face twisted with rage. "How dare you embarrass me in front of so many people? I will make you pay dearly for this!"
"Young Master, please calm down!" a middle-aged man standing nearby advised quietly. "Lin Feng has already gathered evidence; we can't act recklessly."
"Shut up!" Chen Qiang snapped back. "Are we just going to sit here and watch him get away with it? I want to ruin him; I want him to lose everything!"
The middle-aged man fell silent. He knew that Chen Qiang was blinded by anger, and any attempt at persuasion would be futile.
"Go, find out for me!" Chen Qiang pointed at the middle-aged man, gritting his teeth as he spoke. "I want to know everything about Lin Feng—his weaknesses, his secrets. I want him to pay for what he has done today!"
"Yes, young master." The middle-aged man lowered his head, a glint of malice flashing in his eyes.
A few days later, major media outlets began reporting that Lin Feng's company was suspected of tax evasion, causing an uproar. Lin Feng's company's stock price plummeted, and partners rushed to terminate contracts, plunging the company into an unprecedented crisis.
"President Lin, what should we do now?" Su Qing asked anxiously. "Chen Qiang is trying to destroy us!"
Lin Feng sat at his desk, solemnly reviewing the documents in his hands. These so-called "evidences" were riddled with flaws and clearly fabricated, but the media and the public were swept up in anger and panic, completely ignoring the truth.
"Don't worry, I have a plan." Lin Feng set down the documents, a cold smile appearing on his lips. He had anticipated that Chen Qiang would act out of desperation and had prepared in advance. He picked up his phone and dialed a number.
"Hello, it's me..."
Meanwhile, Liu Liuwen was locked in her room, refusing to eat or drink, lost in a daze. Lin Feng's words at the press conference echoed like thunder in her ears, shattering all her pretenses and delusions.
She knew she was wrong—terribly wrong. For the sake of fleeting vanity and pleasure, she had betrayed her husband and abandoned her family, only to end up with nothing.
Knock, knock, knock...
The sound of knocking came, but Liu Liuwen ignored it. She no longer had the courage to face anyone, not even herself.
"Li Wen, open the door; I know you're inside." Lin Feng's voice came from outside, tinged with fatigue and helplessness.
Liu Liuwen trembled all over, tears streaming down her face. She slowly walked to the door and shakily opened it.
Lin Feng stood outside, looking at the haggard woman before him, feeling a mix of emotions.
"Let's talk," he said.
Liu Liuwen nodded, tears silently falling.
