After a moment of surprise, Lin Xi reached out to snatch the manuscript from his hands, but he unexpectedly raised it high above his head, clearly not intending to hand it over to her. 0

"Also, Chen Yang didn't tell me who this manuscript is for, and I don't know who you are, so..." He arrogantly paced back and forth in the small room, casually tapping the manuscript against his other palm. "If you want to take the manuscript from me, you'll need to provide your name, gender, class, height, and so on. Once I record all that information, I might give it to you. Otherwise, if you lose it and Chen Yang asks me about it tomorrow, who am I supposed to turn to?" 0

"My god!" Lin Xi lightly uttered in English, completely at a loss for words. 0

Seeing that Lin Xi had nothing to say, he continued, "Of course, he also told me that if there's no one in the broadcasting room, I can just leave the manuscript on the desk." 0

With that, he walked over to the desk and neatly placed the manuscript on it. Then he stuffed his hands into his jeans pockets, whistled casually, and slowly made his way toward the door. 0

What does this mean? Is Lin Xi not a person anymore? 0

As he reached the door, he suddenly turned around, smiled at Lin Xi, snapped his fingers, and slowly backed out of the broadcasting room while holding onto the doorknob and closing the door behind him. 0

What was even more infuriating was that just before his annoying face disappeared through the crack of the door, he raised an eyebrow at Lin Xi. 0

"Chen Yang not coming himself is one thing; sending someone like this is another." Lin Xi fumed as she sat in her chair, struggling to catch her breath. 0

The next day at noon after school, as soon as she stepped out of the school gate, Lin Xi spotted Chen Yang. 0

"Chen Yang! Stop right there!" Lin Xi called out with her crisp voice. 0

"Oh, it's Lin Xi!" Chen Yang turned around and flashed a bright smile at her. 0

"I want to ask you, Chen Yang, who was that person you sent yesterday to deliver the manuscript?" Lin Xi frowned; her delicate face glowed under the April sunlight, and from the side view, even the fine fuzz on her cheeks was visible. 0

Today, Lin Xi's long hair was tied up high at the back of her head, making her look refreshing and bright like the April sunshine. She wore light-washed jeans, a casual blended pullover, sneakers, and carried a small canvas bag on her back. Her bright eyes radiated a fresh and elegant aura. 0

Chen Yang looked Lin Xi up and down. 0

"What's with the staring? I'm talking to you!" Lin Xi shouted at Chen Yang. 0

"Ah! You scared me! Who made our beautiful Lin angry?" Chen Yang exaggeratedly leaned back, pretending to be so frightened by Lin Xi that he almost fell over, while dramatically exclaiming. 0

"What are you pretending for?" Lin Xi pushed Chen Yang with one hand and stepped closer, forcing him to grimace in mock terror as he backed away step by step. 0

"No, no, I think you look really pretty today!" Chen Yang said, using his hands to block Lin Xi's advancing figure. Suddenly, he stepped back onto a stair and stumbled, nearly falling to the ground. He managed to support himself with his palm on the floor and flipped himself back up. 0

He did not fall. 0

"Hey! Lin Xi, I thought you were usually so gentle; turns out you're this ruthless!" Chen Yang said while brushing off the dust from his hands and clothes, still grinning. 0

Seeing Chen Yang's flustered state made Lin Xi burst into laughter, covering her mouth and bending over as she laughed heartily. 0

Chen Yang and Lin Xi met during their freshman year when the school radio station was recruiting correspondents and broadcasters. They sat together during the written test, both passed it, then attended the interview together and were both accepted by the radio station. However, Lin Xi was accepted as a broadcaster while he was accepted as a correspondent responsible for collecting articles from various classes. 0

Although they were not in the same class, they became familiar with each other early on due to their work at the radio station. Moreover, since Chen Yang had a laid-back personality, he often teased Lin Xi when he went to submit articles at the station. Therefore, Lin Xi never felt the need to maintain a ladylike demeanor around him. In her own words, she had developed thick skin in front of Chen Yang; thus, she had to be shameless around him or it would be unfair given all the effort he put into making her laugh every day. 0

Furthermore, if she pretended to be a lady in front of Chen Yang, Lin Xi believed she would definitely suffer because of it. 0

To deal with someone like Chen Yang, in Lin Xi's words, one must return shamelessness with shamelessness. 0

Once Lin Xi finished laughing and straightened up, Chen Yang asked seriously, "What about yesterday? Who did you send? I really don't know what you're talking about. Can you please explain it more clearly?" 0

Chen Yang brought his palm in front of Lin Xi and said, "Look at my hand. Does this look like the behavior of a lady? It's so rough and violent. You people at the broadcasting station even call you the most ladylike; they must be blind." 0

Lin Xi lowered her gaze and glanced at his palm. Hmph! It was just a bit of cement dust from the ground that made his hand look pale. Was it really necessary to make such a fuss? 0

She pushed his hand away and asked, "Who was the person you sent to the broadcasting room with the manuscript yesterday? He seemed quite impressive; what role does he play in your class?" 0

"Oh, you mean Lu Chenyu!" Chen Yang slapped his forehead, looking genuinely surprised, as if he wasn't pretending. "I almost forgot about him. What? Didn't he deliver the manuscript to you?" 0

Oh, so that person is named Lu Chenyu! Lin Xi silently noted this name in her mind. 0

While talking to Chen Yang, Lin Xi turned into a nearby shop and bought a cup of lemon tea. She asked Chen Yang, "Do you want one?" 0

Chen Yang shook his head. "No." 0

Lin Xi put away the change from the shopkeeper, her playful expression fading as she said seriously, "The manuscript was delivered, but his arrogant demeanor was infuriating." 0

"Really? That's quite exaggerated," Chen Yang said, slapping his thigh with an exaggerated expression and voice that felt almost like a wail. 0

"Please don't yell. That guy is just like you—oh! No, you're much worse compared to him. His haughty attitude and expression were infuriating." Remembering yesterday's scene, even though she was supposed to be a lady, it still made her grit her teeth in anger. 0

After hearing Lin Xi's words, Chen Yang burst into laughter. "You're still laughing," Lin Xi said, feeling speechless with anger. 0
