Jian Ming believed that his previous hesitation was a mistake.
Therefore, he decided not to make the same mistake again and wanted to ask his classmates for Shaw Min's address.
He needed to find An Shaomin.
What had happened to her? Why did she suddenly disappear before the college entrance examination?
"Hmph! You think I don't know? Are you trying to find that girl named An Shaomin?"
Leaning against the door, picking at her nails, Simple suddenly asked nonchalantly, a sly smile on her face.
Upon hearing the name "An Shaomin," Jian Ming turned around sensitively and looked at Simple with some confusion.
"How do you know that name?" Jian Ming approached Simple, pointing at her. "Tell me, did you read my diary?"
Simple was forced back to the edge of the bed by Jian Ming and sat down. She immediately stood up again, raising one hand above her shoulder. "I swear, I didn't read your diary."
Simple knew that Jian Ming disliked others touching his things. If she wanted to extract any secrets from him today, she had to ensure he believed she hadn't touched his belongings.
"Then how do you know the name 'An Shaomin'?" Jian Ming still didn't believe her and continued to press her.
"I really didn't read your diary." Simple raised her hand again, but Jian Ming had already taken it away.
"Really, bro." Simple avoided his gaze. "I know An Shaomin's brother, so that's why..."
Simple pouted, her dark and bright eyes rolling in their sockets as her mind quickly scrambled for an excuse.
"What? You know his brother?" Jian Ming suddenly released her hand and grabbed her arms, shaking her. "Quickly tell me his brother's address and contact information."
Jian Ming appeared somewhat agitated, having completely forgotten about the diary.
"Well, this... this..." Seeing Jian Ming's anxious expression, Simple began to show off again. She pulled away Jian Ming's hand that was gripping her arm and started leisurely pacing around the room, tapping one palm against the back of the other hand, teasingly prolonging the moment.
In fact, she had indeed seen the name "An Shaomin" in Jian Ming's diary.
One day, she had entered Jian Ming's room to look for something and accidentally spotted the diary spread open on the desk. She walked over, took a glance, and casually read the unfinished page of the diary.
There, she found Jian Ming's thoughts and secrets written for An Shaomin.
The name An Shaomin reminded her of An Shaojie. After some inquiries, she discovered that they were indeed siblings.
"What is this? Stop stalling and quickly tell me their address." Jian Ming was so anxious that she was stamping her feet.
"I don't know their address either," Simple shrugged her hands helplessly.
"Then hurry up and take me to find his brother." Jian Ming was pacing around the room, almost frantic.
Simple had never seen her brother so flustered and couldn't help but chuckle.
"What are you laughing at? Hurry up and take me!" Jian Ming nearly raised her fist in frustration.
"Where should I take you?" Simple replied nonchalantly.
"Go find his brother," Jian Ming shouted anxiously.
"Idiot," Simple said, picking up a pencil from Jian Ming's desk and tapping it on his head. "It's vacation time now; he's not at school. How can I take you to find him?"
"Ugh! If he's not at school, why are you stopping me and talking for so long?" Jian Ming was genuinely anxious and a bit angry at Simple's nonchalant attitude.
"But I have other ways," Simple said, tilting her head and starting to show off again.
"What other ways do you have?" Jian Ming's impatience had faded under Simple's casual demeanor, and his voice began to sound weary.
"Forget it, I won't rely on you anymore," Jian Ming suddenly waved his hand.
He no longer had the patience to listen to her roundabout, lengthy ramblings. He didn't believe she would have any solutions anyway. Simple had always been an unreliable person.
He turned off the fan and pushed Simple toward the door. "Get out, get out! No more snooping around my stuff; I'm going out."
"Hey! Hey! Hey!" Simple shouted while tugging at Jian Ming. "Are you going out again? Just a moment ago, you were like a lovesick fool, desperately trying to find An Shaomin's address, and now you're off to have fun. It seems men’s words can’t be trusted, and their feelings are unreliable. Poor Shaw Min, poor woman."
Simple sighed and shook her head.
"I'm not going out for fun; I'm going to ask my classmates for Shaw Min's address," Jian Ming said, genuinely at a loss with Simple.
"Do your classmates have her address?"
Simple's eyes started to dart around as she thought of An Shaojie. Hmm! He could be considered a big handsome guy, though a bit cold.
If I had their address, it would be nice to go there with Lin Xi sometime in the future. I've heard that the mountains there are particularly beautiful and the water is especially green; it would make for a great trip.
"I don't know, I'll ask a few classmates and see who has it," Jian Ming said while changing out of his loungewear.
"However, I actually have a way this time if you really want that address..." Simple said, with her hands behind her back, looking up at the ceiling.
"Look at this person, always showing off," Jian Ming pointed at Simple, curling his lip in disdain.
"If you don't say anything, I'm leaving," Jian Ming glanced at Simple, confident that provoking her was effective with someone like her.
"Ah, ah, ah, I'll tell you!" Sure enough, it worked; Simple hurried forward and grabbed Jian Ming's arm. "Ahem, it's like this, bro, do you remember Lin Xi?"
"Lin Xi? Of course I remember! We lived in the same courtyard; how could I forget? We played together every day when we were kids. What does she have to do with this?" Jian Ming asked.
"It has a lot to do with it! Bro, did you know that Lin Xi is childhood sweethearts with An Shaomin's brother? Lin Xi used to live in the same village as them when she was little."
"Really?" Jian Ming grabbed Simple's arm. "Why didn't you say so earlier?"
Simple rolled her eyes at Jian Ming. "Say it earlier? How long have I known about An Shaomin? It's interesting! I only just found out about your... whatever."
Ignoring the sarcasm and teasing in Simple's words, Jian Ming quickly pulled over a chair for her to sit down and talk slowly. "I've been in contact with Lin Xi all along." Simple crossed her legs and pushed up her black glasses arrogantly. "I'll write her a letter right away or call their house to ask for An Shaojie's address."
"Writing a letter is too slow; just call—make the call right now." Jian Ming handed Simple the home phone and gestured for her to proceed.
