And Hu Jiao'er is always like this. 0

Other girls might indeed not dare to look him in the eye, but that's because they are afraid; they only sneak a glance at him after he turns his back. Some might be shy, lowering their eyelids as they walk past him, yet still unable to resist stealing a glance from the corners of their eyes. 0

However, she is completely different from any girl who avoids looking at him, aside from her obvious disregard. 0

"Hey! Fatty," one day, Zhou Xiaochuan finally couldn't help but call out to Hu Jiao'er as she passed by him. 0

Hu Jiao'er stopped, turned around, and looked at him with sharp eyes. 0

"Is there something?" she asked. 0

"Of course there is," he said as he walked up to her. 0

"What is it?" she repeated the question. 0

"You dropped something," he said, glancing at her with a nonchalant expression. 0

"What did I drop?" she asked. Her standard Northwest accent carried a soft yet businesslike tone. 0

He held up something between his fingers and waved it in front of Hu Jiao'er's eyes. "Here, this." He raised his gaze and raised an eyebrow. 0

"What?" The clueless Hu Jiao'er leaned in closer to take a look, examining it thoroughly. 0

There was nothing there; between his two fingers, there was nothing at all. 0

Hu Jiao'er stared at him blankly. 0

She snorted through her nose and turned to leave. 0

"Hey, something really fell," came Zhou Xiaochuan's cheeky voice from behind. 0

"Consider it a gift," Jiao'er said without turning around, raising her right hand and waving it above her head. 0

"But some things can't be given away, hey..." Zhou Xiaochuan raised his hand above his head and called out to Hu Jiao'er’s disappearing figure, but she was already out of his sight. 0

"Huh?" Zhou Xiaochuan looked at the long, slightly curled black hair held between his right hand's index and middle fingers, along with a long, light yellow silk ribbon in his left hand. 0

The light yellow silk ribbon was known to belong to Jiao'er by anyone who recognized her. 0

Jiao'er had long hair that reached her waist, black and slightly wavy. She liked to tie her long hair up high with a hairpin, letting it cascade down, and then she would tie a light yellow silk ribbon at the point where her hair was gathered, creating a striking yet classical beauty that stood out in the academy. 0

Moreover, Jiao'er had the temperament of a girl with Russian heritage. While some might say she was plump, she wasn't truly fat; her tall stature, being a northern girl with Russian ancestry, simply made her appear more like a "giant" compared to the other three girls from the south in their dormitory. 0

However, her naturally wavy soft black hair, deep-set enchanting eyes, and fair skin added an alluring charm to her. Especially with her waist-length hair and flowing silk ribbon, it showcased her femininity and grace perfectly. 0

Yet, her initial tall image and straightforward personality often led people to mistakenly believe she was an unrefined and boisterous woman. Only a few of her close roommates, like Qinglan and others, knew that she was not only delicate and beautiful but also sensually captivating, exuding femininity like a cat. 0

But Zhou Xiaochuan did not have any preconceived notions about Hu Jiao'er based on the strong demeanor she displayed at the beginning of the semester. 0

It was only that day when she suddenly stood in front of him. Despite her cold expression, her bright black eyes blinked playfully, and the slight upward curve of her lips revealed a pure and unpretentious gaze that looked directly at him. She didn't shy away because of his good looks nor did she act politely just because it was their first conversation. 0

That day, she actually regarded him as a classmate without gender differences, or perhaps she simply ignored him. She seemed to be talking to the air; otherwise, how could she remain so calm in front of him? 0

So, after returning to the dormitory that day, he lay on his bed and contemplated her for a long time. 0

On the day Qinglan went home, Zhou Xiaochuan inadvertently walked behind Jiao'er. As they passed through the old arched wooden door of Building Three, a small splinter of wood was slightly raised. When she walked by, a gentle breeze blew her long hair onto the raised splinter, lightly catching it. She thought nothing of it and simply tugged it free. 0

She knew that behind her walked a self-assured, arrogant classmate, Zhou Xiaochuan, who fancied himself charming and believed all the girls would scream for him. He thought that after joining their class, he had already captured the hearts of all the girls. In reality, he was just an insufferable show-off. 0

Thus, she felt no need to turn around or see his smug smile as he curled his lips in satisfaction. 0

She despised his arrogant and self-important grin. 0

So, she lightly brushed her floating hair aside and continued walking forward without looking back. 0

"Hey, you dropped something." 0

He had just called out to her from behind, but she ignored him. 0

Dropped something? It didn't matter; even if it were a basket of gold, she wouldn't glance back because he was behind her. 0

Zhou Xiaochuan walked to the door frame and retrieved a strand of hair and a ribbon caught on the splinter. A faint smile appeared on his lips. 0

When he reached near the classroom, Zhou Xiaochuan finally caught up with Hu Jiao'er again and called out to her once more. However, she still paid him no mind. 0

Zhou Xiaochuan could only tuck away the yellow ribbon and the soft black hair into his book and follow behind her as they headed to the classroom. 0

Huh? Unexpectedly, the two monsters who usually sit alone at separate desks, Hu Jiao'er and Zhou Xiaochuan, are actually sitting at the same desk today. 0

They are sitting together! 0

When the classmates walked into the classroom, they were surprised to find Zhou Xiaochuan sitting next to Hu Jiao'er. All the students exchanged wide-eyed glances. 0

"I didn't get any information beforehand; I didn't know when they got together," a male student hurriedly defended himself to the girl next to him. 0

"Ah, how many girls must be sighing now," a boy who wasn't liked by the girl he liked said gleefully. 0

"Looks like some girls will be hiding under their blankets crying tonight," another boy who had always been lonely chimed in with a smirk. 0

"Someone is going to be envied," someone else added. 0

"Hmph!" A girl next to a boy huffed in annoyance, dissatisfied with his looks. 0

"Why is it that when he sits next to her, it creates such a stir, while you sitting next to me for so long hasn't attracted anyone's attention?" A girl began to feel discontent with her boyfriend. 0

Another girl was secretly sizing up Hu Jiao'er, "Hmph! He's not that great! If his taste is like this, he actually likes chubby girls." There was a hint of sour grapes in her tone. 0

"So it turns out that this seemingly handsome guy actually has special preferences and tastes; he doesn't like beauties but prefers chubby girls." Just because he sat with Jiao'er, they started to doubt whether he was really handsome or if they had misjudged him before. Is he really handsome? Aren't handsome guys supposed to love beautiful women? 0
