Jiang Liuying shot a glance at Shen Xiaomeng and said, "Haven't you noticed that I haven't finished speaking? I just took a sip of water to catch my breath. That was only my first conclusion; why are you in such a hurry? There's a second conclusion, so let me catch my breath, okay?"
"Alright, please continue," Shen Xiaomeng gestured for her to go on.
"So, the ever-humanitarian boy Aquarius, An Shaojie, felt a pang of compassion. Of course, the compassion isn't the main point; that's not the primary reason. The main reason is, cough cough." Jiang Liuying coughed twice and tapped Hu Jiao'er's desk. "Now I'm getting to the main point, everyone should perk up their ears and listen; it's very interesting and will reveal a long-standing mystery."
"Huh?" Shen Xiaomeng and Hu Jiao'er almost shouted in unison, "What mystery? How did a perfectly good romance turn into a horror film or an action-packed police drama?"
"Just listen well," Jiang Liuying tapped the desk again, signaling Shen Xiaomeng and Hu Jiao'er to stop interrupting.
She then walked over to Qinglan, who was reading a book. She took the book from her hands and said, "Especially you, pay close attention; this concerns the key moment of your lifelong happiness."
Qinglan looked up at her and said, "Go ahead, I'm listening. What important conclusion relates to my lifelong happiness?"
"Well, well, listen carefully, classmates. The main reason is that An Shaojie came to school that day with someone from our dormitory, and he knew that this person was Mosen's girlfriend—me—since we share a room. So when Mosen called him to invite him out for dinner, he immediately thought that this person would definitely be there too. Thus, he agreed to Mosen's request without hesitation; his real intention was to get closer to this person."
Jiang Liuying paused, and the dormitory fell silent.
After a while, everyone finally reacted and asked in a slow tone, "Who is this person?" Their eyes simultaneously turned toward Qinglan. "What about Xu Wen?"
"Wasn't Xu Wen there that night too?" Hu Jiao'er was the first to respond, then asked with confusion.
Shen Xiaomeng patted her head. "Slow down, slow down! Jiang Liuying, my brain is slow; I haven't caught up yet."
"An Shaojie agreed to go out for dinner with Mosen to get closer to our class's Class Flower Lanlan?" Hu Jiao'er jumped off her bed.
"Could it be to get closer to you?" Jiang Liuying tapped Hu Jiaoer's forehead before confidently striding back to her seat.
She had achieved her goal; she believed it had worked. A storm of questions and suspicions would surely follow.
Sure enough, Hu Jiao'er didn't even have time to put on her shoes before she rushed over to Qinglan's side and pulled her up from her seat. "You..."
She looked at Qinglan as if she didn't recognize her. "I can't believe it; when did you secretly make your move?"
"What?" Qinglan removed Hu Jiao'er's hand and said, "You just listen to Liuying, when has she ever been serious?"
Liuying disagreed with Qinglan's statement. She lifted her head and shouted at Qinglan, "Hey! Lanlan, it's one thing if you don't admit it or if you don't believe what I say, but you can't say that my words are never serious. Ask Mengmeng and Jiao'er if I'm a serious person or not. Oh! No, I'm definitely a serious person. When have my words ever been unserious?"
Jiang Liuying stepped out of her small space surrounded by a desk, computer, bed, and window, walked up to Shen Xiaomeng, and pointed at her saying, "You."
Then she walked over to Hu Jiao'er and said, "And you. When have I ever said something unserious?"
"I think Liuying is usually a reliable person; her words are the most trustworthy," Shen Xiaomeng was the first to stand up and express her opinion.
"Right," Hu Jiao'er nodded in agreement and stated, "Liuying is the most reliable; I believe her words."
"However," she continued, "what she just said was her analysis and speculation, not the actual facts of what she saw or heard. If it's just her analysis, then I find it somewhat unreliable."
Hu Jiao'er smugly munched on some chips and huffed through her nose, "Hmph, who told you to always complain about me eating too much and getting fat, calling me 'Fat Girl.'"
"Alright, you..." Jiang Liuying pointed at Hu Jiao'er with an exasperated expression.
"Lanlan, Jiao'er is clearly settling personal scores with me; don't believe her, trust what I say."
Hu Jiao'er huffed again through her nose, "Jiang Liuying, let me ask you, you're an Aquarius, right?"
"Yes," Jiang Liuying nodded.
"Alright then, Aquarius has a free-spirited way of thinking, right?" Hu Jiao'er asked.
"Yes," Jiang Liuying nodded again.
"Then that's settled," Hu Jiao'er tossed a chip into her mouth. "How reliable can conclusions drawn from a free-spirited way of thinking be?"
Jiao'er's lips curled into a smug and disdainful smile.
Jiang Liuying realized she had been tricked. She stepped forward and tackled Hu Jiao'er onto the bed, playfully messing around with her until she finally stopped.
Qinglan, who had been sitting by the desk reading, fell into deep thought. On the surface, she appeared calm and peaceful while reading, but inside, her emotions were surging like waves.
Although Jiang Liuying's words were merely her own speculation and analysis, seemingly illogical, they did make Qinglan realize something.
Certain emotions and feelings began to ferment in Qinglan's heart, slowly bubbling up and stirring ripples within her.
She put down her book and lay back on the bed outside the covers.
Jiang Liuying came over and sat beside her, gently asking, "Actually, my words make a lot of sense, don't they?"
Qinglan remained silent, but the mixed expression of joy and worry on her face clearly told Jiang Liuying that she believed in the two conclusions Jiang Liuying had drawn.
"What do you plan to choose?" Jiang Liuying asked.
Qinglan turned over, lying on the bed with her face buried in the covers, shaking her head.
"This person is so annoying! Every time I start to waver in my feelings for him, he suddenly treats me a little better. It's so frustrating," Qinglan said, clenching her fists and hitting the bed.
"Come on, you’ve always liked him in your heart, right? Before the break, you suddenly refused to meet Xu Wen's parents because of him, didn't you?"
"Ah!" Qinglan sighed, neither denying nor admitting it. "He probably knows you rejected Xu Wen, so he reignited his feelings for you. I'm just speculating about his mindset; as the person involved, do you think it's accurate?" Qinglan climbed back up from the bed and leaned against Jiang Liuying's shoulder, saying, "It just feels somewhat right, which makes me anxious. This time on the train, he was indeed much nicer to me than usual."
