"But this has nothing to do with them. Love is free; it's a matter between two people," Jian Ming added lightly.
"What about marriage? If you two start a family in the future, is that also just your business? Does it have nothing to do with your parents?" Bai Cuifen asked assertively.
Jian Ming was packing Shaw Min's things. He straightened up and met Bai Cuifen's gaze with clear and open eyes. "Mother, trust me, I have plans and arrangements for what comes next. I will ensure that Shaw Min stands on the same starting line as me. She is so smart that one day she might even surpass me."
"If your parents don't agree, I won't let Shaw Min go with you," Bai Cuifen said as she sat down, looking elsewhere and no longer meeting Jian Ming's eyes.
