Xu Wen knew why his mother was looking for him without her having to say a word, and she also understood why he had arrived at her office building.
Upon entering his mother's office, before she could utter a single word, she tossed a freshly printed document onto the table in front of Xu Wen.
Xu Wen picked up the document and wondered what he needed to defend himself about. The conclusion and results were already clear: the investigation revealed that Qinglan not only lived with a boy off-campus but also became pregnant during her time at school. His mother observed the change in Xu Wen's expression and said, "This is the school's preliminary opinion."
Xu Wen slammed the document onto the desk. "Mom, it's very unfair for the school to make such a decision unilaterally." His emotions were running high, and his voice was loud. "So far, I don't think the school has even informed Qinglan or asked her about what happened."
"I've said before that this is just the school's preliminary opinion. They have gathered a lot of relevant materials. Your dean spoke to you this morning, right?" Xu Wen nodded. His mother continued, "He was trying to understand the situation from you. You just came out of his office, and he called me immediately to report that all allegations against Qinglan are true because you admitted it. You should know more about her situation than anyone else. Your dean has already discussed it with you today, and now I am here as a representative of the school to understand the situation from you. The conversations we've had at home before and after the New Year were meant to remind you as your mother. Today, I am here representing the school to gather information from you. Once everything is confirmed as true, we will notify her so that she can acknowledge the facts before giving a final decision."
After taking a breath, his mother sat back down at her desk. "I showed you this preliminary opinion today so that she can be mentally prepared. If it weren't for your involvement with her, I wouldn't have brought this up. This girl you've mentioned several times before has generally performed well academically; the school has also looked into her background. Until now, she should be considered a good student who has been recognized as an outstanding student every year and was even granted a recommendation for graduate studies, which she voluntarily gave up. Xu Wen was about to argue again when his mother slammed the table. Xu Wen paused at the door, his hand resting on the doorknob without moving.
"Alright, you can go now." She waved her hand again.
