She clearly remembered that noon when she was sitting by the window reading a book on knitting. Just then, her phone on the bedside table in the room suddenly rang. She was sitting by the window in the living room, engrossed in her book. Since her phone was not within reach, she assumed it was Xu Wen or Lin Xi calling—likely to inform her that they might be delayed or were on their way back soon with some reminders.
Both Xu Wen and Lin Xi were meticulous people who often called to remind her of various things. Sometimes, pregnant women could feel a bit irritable, and there were times when she found their constant reminders a bit tedious. Therefore, while she was focused on her reading, she didn't want to get up to answer the phone.
