After returning from the company, Yan Yi Bai did not find Su Ruoyun in the restaurant. After asking the waiter, he learned that Su Ruoyun had an argument with someone and then left.
When he asked the waiter, he only mentioned that the person involved in the argument was a woman and did not know anything else.
Yan Yi Bai was very worried about Su Ruoyun and tried to call her, but the call could not be connected.
Anxious, Yan Yi Bai truly feared that Su Ruoyun would disappear again. He panicked and drove back home.
When he saw Su Ruoyun sitting on the sofa reading a magazine, his heart finally relaxed.
Su Ruoyun heard footsteps behind her and turned to see Yan Yi Bai. She stood up, but before she could react, Yan Yi Bai pulled her into his arms.
"Where have you been? Why didn't you let me know when you came home? I couldn't reach you by phone; it scared me to death. I thought you would disappear again."
Su Ruoyun initially wanted to greet Yan Yi Bai, but his sudden embrace and words left her speechless!
Dazed, Su Ruoyun leaned into his embrace without rejecting him.
This was the first time Yan Yi Bai deeply embraced her since they met. In moments of reflection, Su Ruoyun had even imagined how she would resist if Yan Yi Bai ever tried to take advantage of her.
But at this moment, as Yan Yi Bai truly held her close, Su Ruoyun's hands slowly wrapped around his waist.
After a moment of silence, Su Ruoyun gently asked, "What’s wrong? What happened?"
Yan Yi Bai finally released her, saying, "I went to the restaurant to find you, but I couldn't. You didn't answer your phone, and the waiter said you had an argument with someone. I was worried something happened to you..."
Su Ruoyun looked at Yan Yi Bai's anxious expression with some surprise, feeling an inexplicable warmth in her heart.
She smiled and reassured Yan Yi Bai, "My phone seems to be malfunctioning; I couldn't turn it on. I encountered a stranger at the restaurant whom I didn't recognize, so I came back. I'm sorry for not letting you know in advance."
At that moment, Yan Yi Bai's expression softened, and he let out a sigh of relief. Su Ruoyun hadn't expected him to care about her so much.
"Who was the person you argued with? Did she hurt you? Are you injured anywhere? Why did the argument happen?"
Yan Yi Bai bombarded her with questions, leaving Su Ruoyun a bit speechless, yet her heart felt warm.
"It was a woman; she was quite pretty. She seemed to know my name, Su Ruoyun, and then she said some other things. It wasn't anything serious; we just exchanged a few words."
To prevent Yan Yi Bai from worrying, Su Ruoyun decided to omit the details about her encounter with Su Xin'er and the water splashing incident.
Only then did Yan Yi Bai completely relax. "That's good!"
At this point, Yan Yi Bai had been holding Su Ruoyun's hand the entire time. Once he felt at ease, he slowly released his grip.
Su Ruoyun felt a bit disappointed but still managed to smile.
"You can rest assured, I'm already this grown up, nothing will happen to me. I'm not a child anymore."
Yan Yi Bai forced a smile, as if Su Ruoyun's cheerful demeanor provided him with great comfort.
"How about I take you out for a stroll this afternoon? Let's forget about those unhappy things."
Su Ruoyun nodded, and then Yan Yi Bai went upstairs to change into a different outfit before taking her out.
