“I didn’t do it secretly; everyone was filming!” Rao Jie insisted defensively.
On the other side of the video, Wu Xin watched and suddenly felt like she should hang up. Was her presence unnecessary? The two were so engrossed in their conversation that she felt sidelined. Were they even talking to her?
Moreover, the vibe between them felt oddly reminiscent of video calls with their parents. It was as if she had come to check on them but ended up being fed a mouthful of dog food instead.
