"If you have opinions about the school and education, you can choose to leave. But here, you must follow the rules."
Kevin stood up, smiled at the teacher, and said, "Rules? These so-called rules are just created by adults to maintain their authority and control. If following the rules means losing oneself and stifling creativity, then I would rather be a rebel."
After speaking, he picked up his backpack and walked out of the classroom, leaving behind a mix of astonishment and discussion. Meanwhile, on his social media, the photo and his words had caused an even bigger sensation. Some people agreed, while others argued, but in any case, he had finally found a way to increase his sense of existence in this reality that he had always found boring and painful.
Kevin At the moment he walked out of the classroom, his phone screen was almost overwhelmed by new notifications. Opening one of the social media platforms, he found that his photo had been shared hundreds of times, and the comments section was filled with various opinions.
"Awesome, this is true freedom and creativity!" wrote one user.
"Your behavior is really annoying, showing no respect for the teacher at all," criticized another user.
Kevin couldn't help but grin. This was exactly the effect he wanted. He wanted to break the world's stale, narrow rules and values. He swiped the screen and randomly selected a few responses.
"Who says young people can't have a voice? We have our own thoughts and pursuits," he wrote. This response instantly received a large number of likes and shares.
His fingers couldn't help but slide to another popular social platform, where people had already started making various interesting emojis and memes using his photos. Kevin felt a burst of excitement, as if he had discovered a brand new playground, a stage that allowed him to freely express himself and challenge tradition.
When he looked up again, he found himself at the back gate of the school. Since it was still class time, the campus was actually quite quiet. But in this secluded corner, Kevin encountered a few others who were also skipping class. Their uniforms were disheveled, not in accordance with school regulations, and their hair was dyed in various colors, clearly recognizable as the notorious delinquents of the school.
"Hey, Kevin, you're here too? Looks like the performance just now was a success!" said a guy named Jack teasingly, holding a can of beer.
Kevin smiled and replied, "Just wanted to come out for some fresh air. What about you guys?"
"Breathable? Haha, we're here to avoid those rigid teachers and their crappy rules," responded another girl named Lily, with a small crimson tattoo at the corner of her mouth.
Kevin looked at them, thinking that this group of people might have something in common with him, all feeling dissatisfied with the existing system and seeking their own way out. But he also knew that these people didn't have his passion for challenging and changing things.
"Have you heard about the backroom Urban legends in Minecraft?" Kevin suddenly asked.
Jack and Lily exchanged a glance, showing a surprised expression.
"Escape the Backrooms? Isn't that the Urban legends that's said to be in the game?" Jack asked.
"Yes, that's the one. A few friends and I are planning to go explore. I don't suppose you guys are interested in joining?" Kevin taunted, looking at them.
Lily widened her eyes, "Are you serious? That place is said to be very dangerous. Some even say that people have disappeared after going there."
Kevin smiled, "Exactly, that's why it's worth exploring."
Lily's eyes lit up as if she had seen her ideal man. She bit her lip slightly and a charming smile appeared on her face. "Wow, Kevin, you're really cool!"
Upon hearing this, Jack's lips curled up slightly, revealing a wild and unrestrained smile. He took out a bottle of beer, popped the cap, and then handed it to Kevin. "Since that's the case, let's go for something more exciting." With that, he took out a pack of cigarettes and a lighter from his jeans pocket and casually displayed them in front of Kevin. "Care for one?"
Kevin gazed at the beer and cigarette in front of him, feeling an indescribable excitement. He took the beer and lightly sipped from the cup. Instantly, he felt a rush of heat from his throat to his chest, spreading to every corner of his body. His cheeks flushed slightly, as if ignited by some hidden energy.
Nodding, he took the cigarette and lighter handed to him by Jack. His hands trembled slightly, but he quickly lit the cigarette. "Underage drinking and smoking, so cool!" Kevin thought to himself. In this moment, he felt like he was standing at the peak of rebellion and freedom, as if all rules and constraints had been thrown far behind.
Jack took a deep drag of his cigarette, slowly exhaling to form a perfect smoke ring. A confident smile spread across his lips, "This is life, isn't it? Playing by your own rules to live more freely."
Kevin listened and couldn't help but feel a strong resonance in his heart. As he looked at the people in front of him, all seeking excitement and freedom, he suddenly felt like they were mirrors of his own soul. Each person has their own story and pain, some perhaps more tragic and difficult than his, but at least in this moment, they have all found a way to forget their pain and temporarily escape the pressures of reality.
Jack put the cigarette butt in the ashtray, gently extinguished it, and then took out his smartphone. He opened the camera, and with a mischievous smile, he said to Kevin and Lily, "Come on, let's take a picture! Let's capture this moment." Jack said excitedly.
Kevin immediately stood up, still holding the beer bottle he had just opened and the unlit cigarette. His face bore a rebellious yet extremely charming smile. Lily then slowly stood on the other side of Kevin, tossing her golden hair to one side and displaying an incredibly radiant smile on her face.
"Okay, three, two, one, click!" Jack skillfully pressed the shutter. In an instant, a group photo of the three appeared on the phone screen: Kevin, Jack, and Lily, all exuding youthful energy and a kind of unrestrained freedom on their faces.
"Wow, this photo is amazing!" Jack exclaimed as he quickly opened his most used social media app. He chose a filter to make the photo look more artistic and high-end. Then he started adding tags and captions to the photo, such as "youthunstoppable", "wildandfree", and "besttimes".
"Come on, post it!" Jack said as he hit send. He put down his phone and excitedly looked at Kevin and Lily.
"Do you know, youth should be like this. Unrestrained, carefree, and without worries. This is what we should be doing at our age. These days, these moments, will become our most beautiful memories."
Kevin Hearing these words, Kevin was deeply moved. He knew that at this moment, the three of them had found a common outlet, a temporary escape from reality and pressure. He raised the beer bottle in his hand, as if to toast to his own youth.
"So, let's be crazy to the end! On this stage of our youth, carefree and unrestrained!" Kevin exclaimed passionately.
The three of them raised their glasses and drank the beer in their hands. Then, Jack, Kevin, and Lily burst into laughter, as if this moment had become an indispensable part of their lives, a moment that made them forget all their worries and troubles. Their laughter echoed in the air, like an eternal melody, writing down the most real and beautiful record of their age.
