The phone rang with a deathly urgency.

Xu Meihao enjoyed this feeling of manipulating others' emotions. Not only was she testing whether Wang Shaobin loved her, but she also relished the sympathy and pity from everyone. I smiled coldly. This time, I would not be her accomplice.
