When the steward hurried to the entrance of Piaoyun Pavilion, he saw the maid Chunxi standing at the door like a wooden post. The main door was tightly closed, and no one inside Piaoyun Pavilion could be seen.
He directly asked, "Chunxi, why are you standing there in a daze? Didn't I tell you to call her to meet the princess? Where is she?" After asking three questions without receiving a response from Chunxi, the steward thought she hadn't heard him and stepped forward to pat her shoulder.
However, Chunxi remained unmoving and silent. Frustrated, he walked in front of her and said, "Chunxi, are you deaf? Didn't you hear me asking you something? Why aren't you going to call someone and instead just standing out here?"
After a while without hearing any reply from Chunxi, he shouted, "Say something! Are you mute?"
Yet Chunxi still did not respond, standing there like a statue. His anger began to rise sharply, and he raised his hand intending to slap her. But just as his hand was about to reach her cheek, he noticed that Chunxi's eyes were blinking rapidly.
At that moment, he realized something was wrong with Chunxi; it wasn't that she wouldn't respond or turn around, but rather that she couldn't speak or move at all, as if she had been frozen in place. The cunning steward's eyes darted around as unease crept into his heart. He thought to himself, "This is strange. Could it be true what that little servant said in the Account Room? That the Little Bitch is a monster who can cast spells?"
Despite his fear, he couldn't forget the purpose of his visit; after all, the princess was waiting for him to summon someone!
He steeled himself and approached the door to knock. However, just as his hand was raised but not yet lowered, he found himself unable to move. Shocked and frightened, he tried to speak and ask questions but realized he had become mute as well, just like Chunxi behind him. At this point, fear coursed through him completely; meanwhile, seeing the steward frozen in place like herself made Chunxi even more terrified. Fortunately, Piaoyun Pavilion was located in a secluded area where few people passed by, so no one noticed the steward and maid standing petrified at its entrance.
It turned out that Luo Bingbing had been feeling restless after Nursemaid returned to Piaoyun Pavilion, worrying about various things. To calm her mind while she slept, Luo Bingbing had pressed on Nursemaid's sleep acupoint. To avoid disturbing Nursemaid's sleep, she closed the courtyard door. Thus, whenever she noticed someone speaking or knocking at Piaoyun Pavilion's door, she would use her ability to turn them into wooden posts.
Nursemaid remained lost in dreams without waking up while Luo Bingbing reclined on a lounge chair in the courtyard, meditating while keeping watch over Nursemaid. Meanwhile, the two people outside Piaoyun Pavilion stood silently like wooden posts.
The sun slowly set as night quietly descended.
Inside Azure Water Pavilion's hall, those waiting were growing increasingly impatient. The princess seated at the top looked furious enough to scare someone away, while the maids and servants whispered among themselves.
Suddenly, two figures appeared at the corner of the door. Everyone's spirits lifted as they thought their awaited guests had finally arrived. However, upon entering, they realized one was the swollen-faced Fourth Princess—Luo Cai Feng—who was the princess's beloved daughter; the other was her maid. Disappointment spread across everyone's faces when they saw it wasn't who they had been waiting for.
As soon as Luo Cai Feng entered and spotted her mother seated at the top position without having captured Luo Bingbing for revenge yet, she felt furious and approached her mother saying, "Mother, that Little Bitch has done this to your beloved daughter! Why haven't you captured her yet for my sake?"
"Feng'er! Don't be anxious; I've already sent someone to call her over. Let's wait a bit longer," replied the princess.
"I've heard she's been gone for so long already; I think she doesn't take you seriously at all! It's getting late; could it be she's afraid we'll seek revenge and has run away under cover of darkness? Why don't we go drag her out of that shabby courtyard?"
The princess hesitated; it was hard for her to swallow her pride as the mistress of Prince Luo's Residence by personally going after that Little Bitch. She truly did not want to go.
Luo Cai Feng noticed that the Princess seemed hesitant, so she quickly pouted and said, "Mother, don't you love your Beloved Daughter anymore?"
"Oh dear, my precious! How could I not love you? Let's go to that shabby courtyard and settle the score. Come on, give me a smile; your little mouth is about to spill oil."
"Ah... Mother just loves to tease her daughter," Luo Cai Feng replied playfully.
When the Princess and her Beloved Daughter Luo Cai Feng arrived at the entrance of Piaoyun Pavilion with a large group of maids and guards, they saw the maid Chunxi and the steward standing like wooden posts at the door, having been sent to call Luo Bingbing to Azure Water Pavilion. The big door of Piaoyun Pavilion was tightly shut.
As they approached, everyone caught a whiff of an unpleasant odor, causing them to cover their noses and step back, their faces showing clear disgust.
Feeling the disdainful looks directed at them, both the steward and maid Chunxi felt uncomfortable. They were filled with hatred towards Luo Bingbing, yet also fearful.
The Princess's Personal Maid Emerald Pearl, following her instructions, asked them, "What are you two doing? Why haven't you called anyone? Aren't you grown-ups? Standing here like wooden posts is quite embarrassing."
After a while without any response from them, Emerald Pearl asked again, "Why aren't you two answering? Are you mute? Speak up and tell us what's going on."
Another moment passed, and seeing that they still stood motionless without a word, doubt and fear began to creep into everyone's minds. They thought, "They're neither deaf nor mute; why aren't they responding? They're standing still as if frozen. Something's off; it must be strange. Could that little brat inside really be a monster capable of casting spells?" As these thoughts circulated, everyone instinctively took a few steps back.
The Princess and her Beloved Daughter Luo Cai Feng, surrounded by the crowd, also stepped back a few paces. When they finally stopped moving, they realized they hadn't even seen that little brat inside before getting scared away. Both were furious; after all, Luo Cai Feng was still a child at heart and shouted at everyone, "Don't retreat! Go knock on the door!"
But no one dared to step forward. She turned to the two guards beside her and commanded, "You two go knock on the door. If you dare take a step back, you'll face punishment right here."
Though terrified, the two guards steeled themselves and approached the door to knock. Perhaps due to psychological effects, they only tapped lightly. Everyone expected them to be turned into wooden posts as well; however, when the knocking sound echoed—"knock knock knock"—they remained able to move freely without being turned into statues. Except for the Princess and her Beloved Daughter, everyone else silently rejoiced for them, including the guards themselves who felt relieved and surprised.
Seeing that they had not been affected as she had feared, Luo Cai Feng began to doubt herself: "Could it be that everyone was wrong? That little Bitch probably can't cast spells at all; maybe these two are just possessed."
"Mother, look! They're fine; it must be those servants spreading rumors. Let's hurry in and settle accounts with that Little Bitch," Luo Cai Feng suggested to the Princess.
"Calm down; let's go!" the Princess replied.
Meanwhile, inside Piaoyun Pavilion, another scene unfolded as Luo Bingbing was enjoying dinner with her Nursemaid in a cozy atmosphere.
Suddenly, a commotion erupted outside.
"Little Bitch, come out here!" With a loud bang, the door of Piaoyun Pavilion was kicked open. The Princess and her Beloved Daughter stormed in with a large entourage of maids and guards.
Seeing that it was the Princess and the Fourth Princess, the Nursemaid quickly stood up to greet them.
"Little Bitch, what do you want?" Luo Bingbing sat elegantly in her chair, continuing to eat her meal, only glancing at the princess and Luo Cai Feng who rushed in.
Those who had never heard Luo Bingbing speak looked astonished, their mouths agape as they stared at her, silently thinking, "The mute can really talk..."
"What kind of attitude is this? You’ve caused me to end up like this; today is your death day." Luo Cai Feng angrily pointed at Luo Bingbing, then glanced at the princess standing beside her.
"Princess, Fourth Princess, it's not like that. My little princess didn't mean it; she's still young and doesn't understand. Please forgive her!" The Nursemaid quickly explained for Luo Bingbing, fearing that the fragile Little Princess would be bullied again.
Luo Bingbing sneered inwardly. They sent the young one first, and now the older one has come; they really are protective! The thickness of their skin rivals that of a city wall! I wonder if Luo Cai Feng has been hit too hard today or if she’s just lost her mind, thinking she can make me die—what a delusion!
"Get lost! Who do you think you are to speak here?" Luo Cai Feng pushed the Nursemaid aside, causing her to fall to the ground.
Luo Bingbing's expression turned cold. Who dares to act so casually in front of her? They must be tired of living; a little color and they think they can open a dye shop. It seems the lesson from this morning wasn't enough!
"So you think you can just teach her a lesson?" Luo Bingbing raised an eyebrow and retorted at Luo Cai Feng.
"Yes!" Luo Cai Feng answered without a second thought.
"Well, this is my place, and you have no right to speak freely here!" After saying that, Luo Bingbing put down her chopsticks and swiftly moved in front of Luo Cai Feng, delivering three solid slaps across her face.
