"Son, we are sorry for what happened. You want to see Dong Lan, right? We'll get her right away."
"Yes, yes," Dong Chen quickly said, "We'll bring Xiao Lan here immediately."
Fang Bo nodded and turned his head, scanning the room again, but he couldn't find me.
"Where's Dong Lan?"
Everyone turned around and realized that I had disappeared without anyone noticing.
At that moment, I was at the airport waiting to rebook my flight.
Suddenly, Sun Yang called me.
"Xiao Lan, where are you?"
"I'm at the airport, getting ready to go back."
"What time is your flight? I'll come pick you up."
"No need to trouble yourself, Sun Yang, I..."
As I was speaking, I suddenly caught sight of Dong Hui and my parents walking towards me.
"Sun Yang, I have something going on here; I'll call you back later."
With that, I hung up the phone.
Dong Hui and the others reached me with an urgent tone.
"Xiao Lan, what are you doing here? Fang Bo has woken up!"
"I know," I replied calmly.
"If you know that, why aren't you going back?" Dong Hui frowned. "Come back with me!"
"I don't want to go back."
"You..." Dong Hui was frustrated. "Dong Lan, I know you're angry with us, but you've also hit both me and Dong Chen; shouldn't you be calming down by now?"
I looked at him coldly. "Do you think I'm not going back because of that?"
"Then what is it for?"
"Dong Hui, why do you all dislike me so much? Am I not your biological sister?"
"What... what are you talking about?" Dong Hui's tone was somewhat flustered.
"If I'm not your biological sister, then who is?"
"Then why do you treat me this way?"
"I..."
Dong Hui was momentarily at a loss for words.
Seeing this, our parents quickly stepped forward to persuade me.
"Xiao Lan, the past was our fault, but your sister's marriage with Fang Bo has already been decided. You shouldn't interfere anymore."
"You think I want to interfere?" I said irritably.
"If it weren't for you calling me back repeatedly, would I even be involved in this matter?"
My parents were taken aback by my words, their faces alternating between red and pale.
I sighed and impatiently said, "Fine, I'll go back with you."
After all, I needed to return to get my luggage, so I might as well accompany them.
Dong Hui drove while I sat in the back seat with my parents.
Throughout the journey, none of us spoke. My parents tried to find a topic to discuss with me but couldn't, leaving them awkwardly silent.
I closed my eyes to rest, and finally, we arrived at the hospital.
Upon reaching the hospital, we learned that Fang Bo had already fallen asleep. Fang's Father and Fang's Mother asked us to go back first and come again tomorrow.
So, we returned to the the Dong Family home. As soon as we entered, we encountered Dong Chen coming out of a room.
She had red and swollen eyes. Seeing that I still didn't welcome her, she snorted and returned to her room.
My parents stood awkwardly in place, unsure whether to comfort Dong Chen or continue accompanying me.
"Xiao Lan, you... you still want to stay in your previous room, right?" Dong Hui asked.
"No need," I shook my head. "I'll just sleep in the guest room like before."
Dong Hui's expression became uncomfortable and restrained.
"Alright, then I'll head back to my room."
Dong Hui turned to leave, and his back looked somewhat lonely no matter how I looked at it.
I sighed and returned to my own room.
The next morning, we arrived at the hospital.
Fang Bo had woken up early, but the doctor prevented him from getting out of bed.
As soon as I walked into the ward, Fang Bo's gaze fell on me.
