A group of people and a wolf returned to the village, only to encounter Auntie, who had a head full of bright red flowers, at the village entrance. She approached Softy and grabbed her arm, hitting her: "You lazy girl! Where have you been slacking off? I told you to wash the clothes!"
Tang Zisu was about to defend her, but Lang Ye intervened. Who was this old hag to touch his person? Lang Ye rushed over, seemingly raising his claws, and sent the woman flying like a paper kite, landing right in the river.
"Ahei, what did you do? You can't hit people."
Jumping and Little Fish clapped their hands in delight: "Old hag, look at you now! No more bullying Softy!"
The woman climbed out of the water, shivering and pointing at Lang Ye: "Wolf! Wolf! Wolf!"
"It's a dog," Softy corrected her while petting Wolf Head.
Tang Zisu knew it was her turn to step in. Clearing her throat, she said seriously: "Little Fish, Jumping, bring Aunt Mi up here. Aunt Mi, Softy is my Shamaness. You can't just boss her around; the spirits will punish you for that."
Aunt Mi was pulled out of the water by Jumping and Little Fish. Though her body was weak, her spirit remained strong: "Oh, High Priestess, I raised Softy myself. Even if she is a Shamaness, does that mean her parents should not care for her? Since you want to take care of her, why not let her move in with you? That way, she can cut ties with this old woman."
"You! That house clearly belongs to my parents!" Softy trembled with anger.
"Your parents? How can you say that? Those who become Shamanesses are destined to be hard-headed and bring misfortune to their families. Look at the three of you; at least Jumping has a father. You and Little Fish have both lost your parents. After raising you for over ten years, it must have cost a fortune. That rundown house of yours isn't worth much; no one would want it even for free—it's too full of negative energy!"
"You, you said I could, so why did you bring Jumping and Little Fish up..." Softy stuffed her little fist into her mouth, already sobbing uncontrollably.
Lang Ye's fur bristled. Damn it, tonight I'm sending all your pigs, chickens, and dogs to the King of Hell to keep your whiny parents company.
Usually good-tempered Tang Zisu was also angry, actually making personal attacks on my Shamaness. I could tolerate his uncle, but not his aunt. "Softy, go home and pack your things. Bring Ahei to stay with me."
"High Priestess, I..."
"What do you mean 'I'? It's not like you don't have a room. You can stay in the side courtyard; it's convenient for taking care of me. This is an order."
Tang Zisu turned to Aunt Mi and said, "From now on, you are not allowed to send her to work. Otherwise, I'll report you to the clan leader." After saying that, he flicked off the bird droppings from his sleeve and walked away with great swagger.
"Wow, High Priestess is so amazing! I admire her so much!" Little Fish's eyes sparkled with pink bubbles; she was such a lovestruck girl!
Jumping shot a fierce glare at Little Fish: "Little Rascal, your sister-in-law said your little donkey has diarrhea. She wants you to go home and put a donkey mask on it before lunch to grind out some tofu. I wonder if you'll make it in time."
"Piggy Jump, you pig-headed fool! Why didn't you say this earlier?"
"Little Rascal, watch your language; that's quite disrespectful."
"You just wait! After I finish grinding the tofu, I'm coming home to kill you."
"Do you need me to lend you my Butcher Knife? I'll be waiting!"
"Hmph, time is my Butcher Knife; I will deal with you sooner or later!"
