She had felt this way before, back when she was with Bao Ming, during the height of their passionate relationship. It was as if they were on the verge of doing more, but every time the shy Rao Jie would call a halt.
Now, Wu Rong wasn’t giving her the chance to stop. Rao Jie felt that things were about to go wrong. When Wu Rong began to uncontrollably kiss her cheeks and neck, Rao Jie finally regained her senses and shouted, "Let go of me! Wu Rong! Let go of me!"
Wu Rong instinctively lifted his head to look at the Rao Jie beneath him. At that moment, Rao Jie’s eyes were red, her expression filled with fear as she stared at him. She was on the verge of tears.
As Wu Rong continued to gaze at her, he suddenly closed his eyes and collapsed onto Rao Jie. The abrupt change startled Rao Jie into immobility; she didn’t even dare to make a sound. Once she confirmed that Wu Rong had fallen asleep, she hurriedly pushed him away and emotionally grabbed a pillow to hit him on the head.
Rao Jie was so angry that she almost cried. After calming down a bit, she dashed out of the room like she was escaping. Shortly after Rao Jie left the room, the pillow covering Wu Rong's face was removed.
Wu Rong was licking his lips, looking intently at the doorway, completely shedding the drunken state he had just been in.
The next day, when Wu Rong went out, Rao Jie had already prepared breakfast. When she saw him come out, she shot him an annoyed glare, but it was just a fleeting glance; immediately afterward, she awkwardly looked away as if embarrassed.
However, when she brought Wu Rong his porridge, the bowl that should have been placed gently came crashing down heavily in front of him.
Wu Rong smirked; it seemed she was still upset. He put on a serious face and looked at Rao Jie with confusion, saying, "What’s wrong? Why are you angry? Who upset you?"
Rao Jie looked up in shock at Wu Rong; seeing his normal expression made her suspicious. A bit petulantly, she replied, "What do you think?"
Wu Rong looked innocent and said, "How would I know?"
Rao Jie stared at Wu Rong in disbelief; she had no outlet for her frustration. Wu Rong tilted his head lazily against the chair back and said, "From your expression, did I upset you? Is it about what happened in class yesterday? You said you weren’t angry."
Rao Jie felt like she might spit out a mouthful of old blood from frustration.
Looking at Rao Jie's face, which was turning an alarming shade of blue, Wu Rong expressed a hint of impatience. "Did I scare you again? Why are you mad at me? What did I do? You have to tell me so I can understand what's going on!"
Rao Jie’s expression was truly a kaleidoscope of emotions. She couldn't exactly say, "You got drunk last night and kissed me forcefully!" She swallowed hard, trying to suppress the blood rising in her throat. Could it be that he really didn't remember? While that was not entirely impossible, it felt incredibly irresponsible!
No... wait, just like last time, forgetting would be the best solution. But being taken advantage of again left Rao Jie feeling utterly frustrated.
Faced with Wu Rong's perpetually innocent look, Rao Jie could only silently let her tears flow inward. "Professor Wu, your drinking habits are terrible. When you're drunk, you tend to act out. You should really control yourself and avoid getting drunk in the future!"
Wu Rong looked puzzled. "But I have great drinking habits! Ye Ming and the others always say I just sleep when I'm drunk. Did I do something last night?"
Rao Jie twitched her lips in resignation and said, "You were just... noisy. Just... don't drink too much next time."
Wu Rong struggled to hold back a laugh and could only nod in agreement, tacitly accepting Rao Jie's explanation.
