Chapter Forty-Seven: The Mountain Has Trees 0

Even though Zhou Xuanyu said such reassuring words, Junxi couldn't really stop thinking about everything. 0

After returning to school, she began considering the matter of renting an apartment. She discussed it with Xue Waiwai, who was also on the same page. However, while Junxi wanted to rent a place for convenience in her life and work, Xue Waiwai aimed to facilitate the blossoming of her relationship with Gao Yuan. 0

Given this, Junxi had no reason to continue living with Xue Waiwai. She couldn't drag along a little burden and become Xue Waiwai's third wheel. 0

With limited funds, the available rental options dwindled down to just a few. Fortunately, Jun Xuan wasn't picky about where to live. She booked her favorite place online and planned to go view it over the weekend. 0

Xue Waiwai had a date that evening; after dinner and a quick shower, she headed out. 0

The dormitory fell silent again, quiet enough to make Junxi feel uneasy. 0

The term "corruption" had finally faded from her life, only to come rushing back in such an unexpected way. 0

For the past five years, she had worked hard to make herself invulnerable, only to suddenly realize today that her armor wasn't strong enough to protect Jun Xuan as well. 0

Suddenly, her phone rang, pulling her from her thoughts as she rushed to answer it. 0

The caller was Jun Xuan's homeroom teacher. 0

The young female teacher called, and her first words were an apology. 0

"Teacher, is something wrong with Jun Xuan?" Junxi exclaimed in surprise. 0

The homeroom teacher quickly denied it. "No, no, it's not like that." 0

"Then..." 0

"Jun Xuan, the matter I spoke to you about earlier was a misunderstanding. It's quite normal for there to be some noise in the boys' dormitory; the dorm supervisor wouldn't kick anyone out over that." 0

The sudden turn of events left Junxi momentarily speechless. 0

"So you mean Jun Xuan doesn't have to move out of the dormitory?" 0

"No, no. Regarding the fighting, it takes two to tango. It wouldn't be fair to punish only Jun Xuan. I've already spoken to the other two kids involved. Let's consider this matter settled." 0

"That's great! Thank you for taking the time to call me," Junxi said sincerely. 0

On the other end of the line, the teacher sighed lightly. "You're welcome. I should have thought this through better. I didn't expect things to escalate like this. Even our principal personally called to inquire about it." 0

"The principal?" 0

"Yes. To be honest, the parents of the child who fought with Jun Xuan are quite influential, and the school usually doesn't want to offend them. I didn't expect that your family’s backing is even stronger. Jun Xuan really is a hidden gem; not only does she excel academically, but she also remains so low-key at such a young age..." 0

The homeroom teacher continued to praise Jun Xuan until the moment the call ended, leaving Junxi unable to get a word in. 0

Backer? 0

Once, their proud lives as siblings were built upon the lofty foundation of Backer. But who could have imagined that Backer would fall so easily, and in such a complete defeat? 0

Since then, she and her brother had nothing, forced to blend into the crowd, grateful just to avoid being scorned. How could they dare to hope for a comeback, let alone rely on another Backer? 0

Now, who stood behind them, raising a sky high above their heads? 0

Was it Zhou Xuanyu? 0

It must be him. 0
