Duan Wei was stunned, his eyes wide open. 0
I closed my eyes, tears streaming down my cheeks. "I know my physical condition isn't great." 0
"Undergoing In Vitro Fertilization might be very painful..." 0
"But I don't want you to have regrets." 0
"I want to give you a child." 0
"Even if there are risks, I'm willing to try." 0
After seeing the doctor, we learned that my health wasn't good, and I needed some time to recuperate. 0
The words "preparing for pregnancy" were temporarily set aside. 0
On the way back, I took Duan Wei to a milk tea shop. 0
I ordered a new drink, and he frowned slightly. "You should drink less of this kind of beverage." 0
"It's unhealthy." 0
I blinked and held the straw up to his lips. "Then you help me taste it. Is it good?" 0
How could Duan Wei taste it? 0
He pushed my hand away. "You drink it yourself." 0
"No way," I insisted. "You have to take a sip!" 0
With no other choice, Duan Wei lowered his head and took a sip from the straw. 0
"How is it?" I asked. 0
He nodded. "Not bad." 0
Behind us, I heard a conversation between a young couple. 0
"Wow, that brother and sister look so sweet." 0
"Really, I want to date a brother and sister too." 0
I turned around to glance at them and couldn't help but laugh. 0
Duan Wei noticed too; he pinched my cheek gently and said, "Let's go home." 0

Duan Wei had to go to a meeting at the company and couldn't accompany me home. He initially wanted to drive me back, but I insisted on refusing, so he had no choice but to get in his car and leave. I prepared to walk back to school by myself. 0

Earlier at the tea shop, I hadn't lied to Duan Wei. I genuinely wanted to have a child with him. However, my mind was in turmoil, and I needed to sort through my thoughts. As I walked along the road, feeling the breeze, my head began to clear. 0

Suddenly, a voice called out beside me. "Bingxin." 0

I stopped in my tracks and turned my head. It was Lin Yifeng. 0

"What do you want this time?" I asked coldly, looking at him. 0

He placed a large box in front of me. "These are all the things you used to give me; I've kept them..." 0

"Now, I'm returning them to you." 0

I lowered my gaze to the box. Inside lay a crystal ball, a bracelet, a diary, and a photograph. These items were all gifts I had given him during high school. Back then, my family was relatively well-off, and I often sent him various presents. But what about him? After graduating from high school, he took that money and ventured into business for himself. 0

He failed in his entrepreneurial efforts and ended up deep in debt. So he came to me, asking for a job. 0

I felt sorry for him and had Duan Wei arrange a driver position for him. Little did I expect he would repay my kindness with betrayal! 0

"Take it away," I said. "Don't ever show up in front of me again." 0

"Otherwise, I'll call the police on you." 0

Lin Yifeng's face turned pale. "Bingxin, I..." 0

"Get lost!" 0

Lin Yifeng was startled by my words and hurriedly ran off, clutching his box. 0

A security guard approached and quietly asked, "Professor Xu, are you alright?" 0

I shook my head. "I'm fine, thank you." 0

The guard left. 0

I watched Lin Yifeng flee in a panic, a cold smile creeping onto my lips. I knew Lin Yifeng wouldn't just appear at the school gate for no reason. This was all part of Duan Wei's scheme. 0

As for his intentions... 0

I took out my phone and dialed a number. 0

"Hello, is this a private detective agency?" 0

"I'd like to hire you to keep an eye on someone." 0
