"Consort Wang—" Yun Ying hesitated, her words caught in her throat. 0

"What is it?" Consort Wang lazily reclined on the chaise lounge, accepting the fresh grapes that Yun Ying offered. 0

"I—" Yun Ying looked visibly troubled. 0

"What’s wrong? Just say it! Stop being so coy; it's driving me crazy." After waiting too long for an answer, Consort Wang impatiently sat up and asked. 0

As if finally summoned, Yun Ying steeled herself and pulled a note from her pocket. Reluctantly, she handed it to Consort Wang, saying earnestly, "Your Highness, I found this by accident. After thinking it over for a long time, I decided to take the risk for you. I hope it can be of some help." 0

Consort Wang took the note, and her initially lazy demeanor transformed into one of growing interest, even sparkling with an unusual light. Watching the excitement in Consort Wang's eyes, a strange smile crept onto Yun Ying's lips. 0

"With this, hmph, I don't believe she won't be completely finished this time. Yun Ying, you are truly too good to me," Consort Wang said, looking at Yun Ying who stood respectfully with her head bowed. 0

Yun Ying replied respectfully, "It is Your Highness who has treated me so well; I hope to repay your kindness." 0

"Heh. Is that so?" Consort Wang stood up, waving the note in front of Yun Ying. "Perhaps I should go see the Emperor now." With that, she joyfully left. 0

Yun Ying watched the proud and oblivious woman walk away and scoffed quietly, "Fool." 0

"Your Majesty—" Before he could be seen, his voice was heard from afar. Sima Rui recognized Consort Wang's voice and thought it surely couldn't be anything good, yet he instinctively wore a smile. 0

"What is it, Consort?" Sima Rui gently asked as Consort Wang entered the room. 0

"Your Majesty—" Consort Wang raised the letter in her hand and said flirtatiously, "You might find this interesting." 0

"What? Bring it here for me to see." 0

"Yes." Consort Wang presented the letter in her hand. 0

Sima Rui's expression grew darker as he read the contents of the letter, while Consort Wang's lips curled into a smile as she observed his changing demeanor. 0

After a long moment, Sima Rui said in a deep voice, "You may leave now." 0

"Damn woman! How can you go back on your word again?" 0

I looked at him fearlessly and replied, "I am going back on my word. So what?" Saying this, I picked up the card I had just put down. "I have an Ace. I think you'll be pleased to see it." 0

"Damn it! You again—" Sima Shao angrily slammed the card onto the ground. "I'm done playing." 0

I also set my cards down, stretched lazily, and sighed contentedly. "Ah... finally, you're not playing anymore." 0

Hearing this, Sima Shao glared at me furiously. "Are you doing this on purpose?" 0

I leaned back in my chair, looking at her mischievously. "What do you think? Playing for so long every time has nearly broken my back and bones." 0

Sima Shao exclaimed in exasperation, "You—playing cards with the Crown Prince is an honor for you!" 0

I took the lotus seed soup that Xiao Quanzi had brought and replied coolly, "Maybe for others it would be an honor, but honestly, Brat, I'm exhausted." 0

"You—" Seeing him about to get angry again, I quickly had Xiao Quanzi fill a bowl for him, reminding him, "Drink something to cool down." 0

Suddenly, a familiar figure appeared in the lively Jiu Nian Xuan. Upon seeing him, Xiao Quanzi's expression darkened, and he spat out, "What are you doing here?! Traitor." 0

"Miss, I—" Yun Ying's eyes glistened with tears at Xiao Quanzi's hostile expression. 0

I waved my hand and said to Xiao Quanzi, "Xiao Quanzi, go get a bowl of lotus seed soup for Yun Ying." 0

"Hmph, I don't want to give it to her—" 0

I interrupted him just in time, "Xiao Quanzi, you've misunderstood Yun Ying. I'll explain later. For now, go get the lotus seed soup." 0

Xiao Quanzi looked confused but still replied, "Yes, Master." 0

Looking at Sima Shao sitting nearby, I noticed Yun Ying's hesitation and said, "It's fine. Go ahead and speak." 0

Sima Shao grinned mischievously, "What’s this, Consort Jie? Is there a good show about to start?" 0

"That's not something for children to hear. Go find your master," I urged. 0

"Why?! I'm not a child anymore?!" Sima Shao retorted. 0

"In my heart, you are," I said as I shooed him away. 0

"I'm sorry for putting you through this, Yun Ying." I pulled her down to sit. 0

"For the young lady, everything is worth it. Besides, those people are not as clever as they think." 0

"Yun Ying," I sighed lightly, "it's not that they aren't smart enough; it's that they are too self-satisfied. They want too much, and in doing so, they become confused and blind to many things." 0

"Young lady, will it be over soon? I want to be by your side." 0

I stood up and gazed calmly at the distant sky, smiling as I said, "No, no, no, Yun Ying. This is just the beginning. Just wait and see; many people will have trouble sleeping tonight. Why don't you go back now and rest?" 0

"Yes, young lady. Without me here, you must be careful." 0

"Perhaps I should take a short nap myself. You go on. Be cautious; if you find she no longer trusts you, come back." 0

After resting for a while, feeling refreshed, I turned to the still puzzled Xiao Quanzi and said, "You have a lot of questions right now, don't you?" 0

Seeing him nod, I chuckled softly, "Actually, this is all intentional." The time flashed back to when I was interrogating Yun Ying about whether she was sent by Old Buddy to spy on me. 0

I glanced at Yun Ying with a vague expression in my eyes and asked, "Do you really want me to forgive you? Then all you have to do is one thing for me, and I'll forgive you." 0

Yun Ying lowered her head resolutely and replied, "Even if it means death for Yun Ying, I will have no complaints." 0

I smiled coldly. "I want you to betray me." 0

"Miss—" Yun Ying cried. 0

I scoffed, "Yun Ying, do you know? I never intended to stay in this wretched place!" I turned my head and smiled coldly. "Yun Ying, do you remember the box of 'Dream Essence' that Sister Dan Yi gave me?" 0

Yun Ying looked up in shock. "Could it be?! No, no, how is that possible?" 0

"Why is it impossible?" I gazed at her with a seductive expression. "Yes. Until now, I have not shared my bed." 0

"Then—" 0

"Yes, you guessed it right. Every night, what I've been applying to my lips is 'Dream Essence.' Any man who kisses my lips will experience a night of vivid dreams, as real as if they were actually happening, and no one would notice." My expression turned somewhat sorrowful. "At first, I only wanted to have some fun with Sister Dan Yi; I never expected it would come in handy one day." 0

I toyed with my fingers. "Do you know? Everything I've done is just to avoid having any reason to linger here. Do you understand?" 0

"Yun Ying understands. So, what should I do next?" Yun Ying asked respectfully. 0

"You should go stay with Consort Wang for a few days," I said with a hint of amusement in my smile. "But what excuse should I use to send you over? Let me think... framing her or doing something for her, perhaps? Yun Ying, which method do you prefer?" My smile blossomed more brilliantly. How interesting; perhaps life from now on wouldn't be so boring after all. 0
