Le Yao Yao felt as if she had just awakened from a dream.
Everything in the dream had felt so real.
The man with his unpredictable moods, the ruthless assassin, and finally, that merciless bow and arrow, with blood splattering before her eyes.
Scenes kept flooding into Le Yao Yao's mind, causing her to scream and wake up from her slumber.
She sprang up from the bed, her heart racing wildly. The thought of that dream still sent shivers down her spine.
Her forehead was slick with a fine layer of sweat.
Covering her still-thumping chest with one hand, Le Yao Yao gasped for breath. Once her breathing finally calmed down, she let out a sigh of relief and murmured to herself.
"Phew, thank goodness it was just a dream. I almost scared myself to death... uh..."
Her words of relief were cut short when she saw the scene before her, leaving her frozen in shock as if struck by lightning—
A simple room with white walls and wooden beams, a basic wooden table, and four stools that clearly showed signs of age.
And beneath her, instead of her beloved Tinker Bell mattress, lay a wooden plank bed covered only by a simple straw mat...
Staring at her surroundings, Le Yao Yao felt utterly bewildered.
It turned out she was not dreaming at all; she had truly crossed over...
To this era that did not exist in history, known as the Celestial Yuan Dynasty!
She really couldn't take it anymore...
The more she thought about it, the more a sense of melancholy surged within Le Yao Yao.
Perhaps it was in the stillness of the night that she felt the loneliness most acutely.
After all, arriving in this unfamiliar dynasty meant that she had lost all her family.
The more she pondered, the sadder Le Yao Yao became, and tears began to flow down her cheeks, soaking them.
However, just at that moment, a voice filled with concern and urgency suddenly rang out.
"Xiaoyaozi, why are you crying?!"
As the voice echoed, Little Muzi's worried face appeared before Le Yao Yao.
"Little Muzi..."
Seeing the only familiar person in this place, along with the genuine worry etched on Little Muzi's face, warmed Le Yao Yao's heart.
After all, what she wanted most at that moment was someone else's care.
At least here, there was someone who cared for her; she was not alone.
Feeling a warmth in her heart, and not wanting to worry Little Muzi, Le Yao Yao quickly wiped away her tears and forced a smile as she said to Little Muzi,
"I'm just hungry."
"Silly Yaozi, if you're hungry, just let me know. Here, this is the steamed bun I just got from the kitchen for you. I specifically asked Brother Li to save it; no one else knows about it. Otherwise, there wouldn't be a crumb left! Come on, eat up!"
Little Muzi chattered away, but it reminded Le Yao Yao of her old roommate.
Though she was nagging, it was out of concern for her.
Thinking of this, Le Yao Yao didn't hold back and reached out to take the steamed bun from Little Muzi's hand.
The bun was cold, but now that Le Yao Yao was starving, she didn't care about anything else and started eating it eagerly.
However, she ate too quickly and ended up choking. Fortunately, Little Muzi had already prepared a cup of tea for her. After Le Yao Yao took a sip to clear her throat, she continued eating.
This time, she took smaller bites.
The bun was quite small and barely filled her mouth. After finishing it, Le Yao Yao clearly felt unsatisfied as she stuck out her pink tongue to lick her rosy lips.
She looked just like a little cat with a craving for food, utterly adorable!
