The soldier's gaze fell on the large box that Kyle was holding, his brow slightly furrowed with a hint of doubt and wariness as he asked, "What's inside that big box?"
As the soldier questioned Kyle, Kyle felt the pressure and held onto the box tightly, trying to remain calm in the tense situation. He replied, "Oh, this box? It contains some documents to be processed and some waste paper, you know, the office always has a lot of this kind of clutter. We're about to take it to the file room on the fourth floor for archiving."
Diego quickly took the call and tried to divert the soldier's attention: "Yes, yes, just some unimportant documents and waste paper, haha, just the daily office stuff." He laughed casually, trying to reduce the other party's suspicion.
Diego then added, "Mr. Soldier, these documents are very important, we must deal with them quickly. The broken elevator is really a headache."
The soldier's expression seemed to relax a bit, but he still remained alert: "I understand. However, you might need to take the stairs. I will report the issue with the elevator."
Kyle and Diego exchanged a glance, then nodded in understanding. Diego thanked the soldier and suggested, "Let's take the stairs, it might be faster that way."
The soldier nodded, indicating that the two could leave. Kyle and Diego carefully turned around and moved towards the staircase with the box in hand. The soldier stayed in place, observing their movements until they disappeared from sight at the staircase.
The two of them cautiously made their way towards the staircase, trying not to attract attention. Kyle still tightly held the box containing Ray Jin, while Diego gently patted Kyle's back, cheering him on. They quickly and quietly ascended the stairs, taking each step with great care, afraid of being discovered.
Diego and Kyle, along with a cat, tightly held a heavy cardboard box, slowly climbing the stairs. The air in the stairwell became increasingly stuffy, and with each step, the temperature seemed to mercilessly rise. Beads of sweat formed on Diego's forehead as he continuously adjusted his uncomfortably tight shirt collar.
"Damn this shirt, why is it so tight!" Diego complained, his movements becoming somewhat clumsy due to the restrictive nature of the shirt. His face showed signs of irritation as he frequently attempted to adjust the shirt to make himself more comfortable.
Kyle supported the box while trying to comfort Diego, "Don't worry, Diego, we're almost there. You'll be able to change out of this outfit soon."
Inside the box, Ray Jin let out a dissatisfied sigh, seemingly sensing his owner's discomfort. Kyle occasionally carefully opened a corner of the box to let Ray Jin breathe and check on his condition. Ray Jin's gaze seemed somewhat resigned, but also revealed trust in Kyle.
As they approached the fourth floor, the narrow and stuffy feeling in the stairwell became more pronounced. The two of them tried to keep their voices low to avoid unnecessary attention. With each step they took, they were cautious and alert, knowing that this was the most critical moment in the entire plan.
Standing at the stairwell of the fourth floor, Kyle and Diego were both catching their breath, recovering from the difficult climb just now. Diego carefully took out a small disc from his tense pants pocket. He gently pressed it, and the disc projected a detailed map, showing their relative position to the warehouse.
Kyle gently placed the box containing Ray Jin on the ground, trying to calm his breathing. He looked at Diego with a mixture of confusion and anticipation, asking, "How do we proceed from here?"
Diego carefully studied the location map and then explained slowly, "Once we enter the warehouse, we need to quickly find my ship. According to this map, the ship should be on the right side of the warehouse. We need to be careful and try to avoid attracting any attention."
Kyle nodded, his eyes becoming more determined. He looked at Ray Jin again and whispered, " Ray Jin, there might be some commotion later. You need to stay put here."
After a brief rest at the stairwell, Diego carefully examined the disc in his hand to confirm their exact location. He turned to Kyle and said, "Alright, the plan is set. You go in with the box, pretend to handle contraband. I'll take care of delaying the security guard, then later I'll sabotage the power facilities here. You need to find my spaceship before that, then wait for me nearby. I'll meet up with you later."
Kyle frowned and asked, "But how will I know what your captain looks like?"
Diego tapped his forehead and laughed, "Oh my, how could I forget that. My ship is a small cruiser of the T-173 Wanderer model, very easy to recognize with its blue and gold paint job. You'll know it when you see it."
Kyle nodded, feeling a little more at ease. He carefully opened the lid of the box and checked on Ray Jin inside, making sure the little guy was safe. After gently closing the lid, he picked up the box again.
Wearing government official uniforms, Kyle and Diego stood in front of the warehouse door, carefully observing their surroundings. Diego scanned the area with a serious and focused expression, all playfulness and light-hearted atmosphere gone.
Kyle adjusted his uniform to make sure he looked neat and proper. He repeated every detail of the plan in his mind, not allowing any mistakes to happen.
At that moment, Diego took out a small communicator from his pocket and handed it to Kyle. "Use this to stay in touch. If there's any situation, notify me immediately," he said.
Kyle took the communicator and carefully placed it in his pocket. Then, they both took a deep breath and pushed open the door, entering the warehouse. The scene behind the door made them both stunned, as it was much busier and more complex than they had imagined.
The warehouse was filled with all kinds of goods and equipment, and several workers were busy moving and organizing items. Diego and Kyle pretended to casually pass through the crowd, carefully avoiding any actions that might attract attention.
Their footsteps were quick and light, filled with tension and anticipation. They knew that if they could successfully execute this plan, it would change their destiny in one fell swoop.
