As Gu Ze and Xu Hang successfully executed a highly strategic plan to incapacitate the Steel-Toothed Crocodile, the other bound Steel-Toothed Crocodile furiously broke free from its restraints and lunged towards Deng Yinyin, who stood frozen nearby.
“Deng Yinyin, get out of the way!”
Xu Hang could only shout, his voice filled with power that contrasted sharply with his usually silent demeanor.
It was difficult for someone in shock to move, and Deng Yinyin was no exception. It was a short knife that had been thrown to the ground in front of her that finally snapped her back to reality.
The still-bleeding knife was intimidating, prompting Deng Yinyin to start fleeing to the side. In her haste, she stumbled and fell to the ground, watching helplessly as the massive jaws of the crocodile approached. All she could do was scream wildly.
“Help!”
Her voice was sharp and piercing as always.
Just as her cry echoed in the air, the Steel-Toothed Crocodile was dragged away.
Xu Nuan had been watching the situation unfold from a tree. As soon as the Steel-Toothed Crocodile moved away from her backpack, she decided to jump down and retrieve the item that was about to fall out.
When Gu Ze and Xu Hang worked together to pull the Steel-Toothed Crocodile away from Xu Nuan, there was nothing left to threaten her.
With Tang Jingshu and Xie Huai’s astonished gazes fixed on her, Xu Nuan nimbly leaped down from the tree and picked up the package. The faint scent of sulfur wafted into her nose, a smell that oddly reassured her.
“Gu Ze!”
Once again, it was the Soprano. Xu Nuan turned her gaze to Gu Ze, who was forced to fight the frenzied Steel-Toothed Crocodile with his bare hands after losing his dagger. Xu Hang, wielding an axe, had been swept away by the crocodile's tail and crashed into a nearby tree, leaving him unable to stand for the moment. Tang Jingshu and Xie Huai hurriedly slid down from the tree, trying to help Xu Hang.
Gu Ze's wounds were untreated, and the large amount of blood flowing from him should have left him too weak to even stand.
Xu Nuan remained calm, analyzing the situation as she watched Gu Ze swaying unsteadily, the defenseless Deng Yinyin, and the Steel-Toothed Crocodile whose combat power had inexplicably surged. For a moment, she felt dazed, and the package in her hand seemed heavier.
"Come help me!"
Deng Yinyin's loud cries drew the attention of the others. The Steel-Toothed Crocodile lunged at Gu Ze with its gaping jaws, but he barely managed to hold its mouth open with both hands, preventing himself from becoming its meal.
Xu Hang still couldn't get up. Tang Jingshu trembled as she held a thick branch, trying to approach. Xie Huai looked like he might collapse at any moment, while Deng Yinyin continued to panic, unsure of how to assist Gu Ze.
Xu Nuan withdrew her gaze and pulled out the multifunctional folding knife from her waist, her expression suddenly turning fierce.
She could not agree with their attitudes; this was not a game for overcoming challenges but a real Death Game!
As Xu Nuan's heart sank, her knife plunged into the eye of the Steel-Toothed Crocodile. When the creature was forced to release its grip and turn away, Xu Nuan breathed a sigh of relief, thinking Gu Ze could escape safely.
Little did she know that Gu Ze, drenched in sweat and pale-faced, lacked even the strength to quickly pull his hands away.
As the Steel-Toothed Crocodile regained its senses and opened its bloody jaws towards them again, Xu Nuan quickly assessed that the supplies from the Supply Station would not be able to save a person's hands. Resolutely, she tore off the package from her waist, hastily lit it with a lighter, and threw it into the crocodile's belly.
"Get down!"
"Xu Nuan shouted at the nearby Deng Yinyin and Tang Jingshu, while pressing her hand against Gu Ze's back as they both pushed forward and fell down.
Immediately after, a deafening explosion echoed, accompanied by flesh and blood flying everywhere."
