Xu Nuan rarely feared anyone.

However, in the gaming world, there were moments when she felt fear, and that fear stemmed from Gu Ze.
When Gu Ze wore a serious expression and narrowed his eyes, his deep gaze made it impossible to read his emotions. His imposing presence commanded respect without anger, evoking a sense of reverence that felt worlds apart from his usual gentle demeanor.
Yet that fear was not one of terror; it was a mix of panic and confusion built on a foundation of trust.
At this moment, though, she felt fear towards Zhang Xiao.
Despite the smile playing at the corners of his lips, that seemingly gentle expression created an illusion for Xu Nuan that she was trapped in hell.
She couldn't see Zhang Xiao's eyes clearly and thus couldn't discern his emotions. Every step he took felt like he was treading on her heart, crushing it beneath his feet.

Xu Nuan pretended not to understand what Zhang Xiao meant and steadied her voice.

Zhang Xiao nodded slightly in appreciation.

Xu Nuan's teeth were chattering as her jaw was being squeezed painfully, and she began to feel dizzy.

With each of Zhang Xiao's words, Xu Nuan's face grew paler, and the grip on her chin tightened.

As he spoke, the pressure from Zhang Xiao's hand increased even more, making Xu Nuan feel like her jaw might break.

Shivering as she spoke, Xu Nuan tried to break free from Zhang Xiao's hold, but he had already used his other hand to restrain her arms and increased the pressure of his knee against her abdomen.
"Ts, what a stubborn woman," Zhang Xiao said, raising an eyebrow, a chill radiating from her.
"If you don't, I'll crush your jaw right now, break your hands, and shatter your legs. How will you explain to them that you fell? Or will you admit that I'm the bad guy?"
Zhang Xiao's expression was tinged with impatience as she leaned closer to Xu Nuan's neck, lightly exhaling, her tone dripping with ambiguity.
"If you think this kind of torment isn't enough, we can switch to another form of torture. That would be even more enjoyable for me. Or are you still not planning to call them in?"
Xu Nuan suddenly felt ridiculous. She had once teased Zhang Xiao about introducing her to a crash course, but now it seemed that the little she had learned was utterly insignificant in Zhang Xiao's eyes. With just a casual move, Zhang Xiao had rendered her powerless.

Zhang Xiao caught her; more precisely, one hand gripped both of Xu Nuan's wrists and pulled her into an embrace while the other tugged at her own collar.
"If you really dare to do anything, I won't let you leave the Supply Station alive."
Xu Nuan gritted her teeth, eyes red as she spat out those words.
"I can tell you that no one here can defeat me."
Zhang Xiao smiled happily, loosening her grip on Xu Nuan's collar and instead pulling open her own shirt to reveal something.
Xu Nuan's eyes widened. She had no idea how Zhang Xiao had obtained a weapon that only the police were allowed to possess. All she knew was that if she called for help, the person coming to save her would be in grave danger.
"What you're thinking right now is correct; you can't call for help," Zhang Xiao said, shaking the weapon in her hand before putting it away.
"Of course, you also can't tell anyone about this in the future. Otherwise, I'll take care of anyone who knows besides you. Just throw the body to the beasts, and I can shift the blame onto the Life-and-Death Contract. Ah, if you want the Life-and-Death Contract to lose its validity later, just pin the responsibility on the Design Company. What a great idea."
Zhang Xiao was surprisingly chatty compared to her cold appearance.

"Perhaps it's better not to let them save you. Since you care so much about Yaojie and are willing to sacrifice yourself for his ridiculous reputation, then I'll indulge you. Enjoy your suffering while I extract what I want to know—three birds with one stone. How brilliant! I should have thought of this sooner; I've wasted so much time."
There was no escaping this; it was a dead end.
Xu Nuan trembled all over, her pupils beginning to dilate in sheer terror.
