"Gu Ze, wake up."
Upon realizing that Deng Yinyin might be in trouble, Xu Nuan instinctively sought out the sleeping Gu Ze. Without taking a moment to appreciate the man's peaceful face, she rudely shook him awake.
Gu Ze woke up quickly; he was likely a light sleeper.
As soon as Gu Ze opened his eyes, Xu Nuan wasted no time and spoke rapidly.
"Deng Yinyin has been gone for a long time and hasn't returned. I suspect something has happened to her."
Xu Nuan was not one to joke around. The moment Gu Ze's initially dazed expression turned serious, he sat up straight, his gaze sharp as it scanned the dense cluster of stone pillars nearby.
Taking advantage of the moment, Xu Nuan also woke up Xu Hang and Xie Huai.
Deng Yinyin's sleeping bag had long since grown cold, and the gravity of the situation dawned on them all. They quickly grabbed flashlights and set out to search for her.
Xie Huai chattered along the way.
"What could have happened to Deng Yinyin? We haven't encountered anyone or any animals on this journey. What kind of danger could she possibly be in?"
This thought struck Xu Nuan, who had a pale complexion. She looked up at Gu Ze and Xu Hang and noticed their faces were equally grim. In an instant, she understood they were all thinking along the same lines.
Xu Nuan immediately changed direction and ran toward the riverbank. Xu Hang and Gu Ze ran even faster than she did, while Xie Huai, somewhat confused, followed along, asking Xu Nuan questions.
"Where are we all going?"
As they ran, Xu Nuan quickly explained, "There are more players in this round than just us."
They were all used to tackling challenges together, overlooking the dozens of other Players scattered throughout the Survival Game, who appeared and disappeared like ghosts.
"You're right," Xie Huai suddenly realized. "The other Players might have triggered the Hidden Level as well. Deng Yinyin is in danger; we need to find her quickly!"
"Of course!"
Xu Nuan felt a pang of regret. When she first noticed Deng Yinyin getting up at night, she should have suggested going together or at least informed the others. Now, all she could do was hope they weren't too late.
The four of them quickened their pace toward the river, leaping over obstacles under the bright moonlight.
As they approached the riverbank, a flash of red caught Xu Nuan's eye. She was momentarily dazed and hadn't gotten a good look at the person's face when she heard Xu Hang's furious shout.
"Rao Tingxue!"
It was them. Xu Nuan instantly feared for Deng Yinyin's safety and quickly turned to Xu Hang and Gu Ze.
"You two go save Deng Yinyin; I'll handle her!"
The men trusted Xu Nuan's skills and hurriedly dodged Rao Tingxue, who was trying to block their path, rushing toward the river. However, Gu Ze glanced back at Xu Nuan with a worried expression as he ran past her.
"Ah, you can't go over there!"
Rao Tingxue was in a fit of rage when Xu Nuan charged right up to her, rudely sweeping her legs out from under her and knocking her to the ground.
"Xu Nuan, you're still alive!"
Rao Tingxue feigned surprise, but her left hand stealthily reached for a knife at her waist. Xu Nuan saw through her intentions immediately and seized her wrist, slamming it down against the ground.
"You've known for a long time that we are alive. Is it still amusing to pretend otherwise?"
Seeing Rao Tingxue still trying to struggle, Xu Nuan drew the short knife from her waist and pressed it against Rao Tingxue's neck.
"Move again, and don't blame me for being rude."
"Hmph, are you going to kill me? You should know who I am!"
At that moment, Rao Tingxue still acted like a big sister, but just by looking at her dilated pupils, Xu Nuan could tell she was scared.
No one is unafraid of death.
Xu Nuan pushed the knife in a little deeper, and the faint smell of blood immediately filled the air. She took a gentle sniff.
Rao Tingxue began to scream.

Rao Tingxue anxiously pushed all the blame onto Ning Han. When she noticed Xu Nuan still looking at her with a calm expression, she felt a surge of panic. Why was Xu Nuan so different from their first meeting? What had happened in between?
"Aren't you going to save that woman? Ning Han has tied a stone to her and thrown her down. If you wait too long, she'll be dead for sure."
Rao Tingxue tried to use the life-and-death situation of a companion to persuade Xu Nuan to let her go.
Xu Nuan suddenly smiled. "I trust my companions. With the three of them there, Deng Yinyin will be fine. As for you, Ning Han won't come back in time to save you."
At that moment, Rao Tingxue truly felt Xu Nuan's anger; her whole body trembled, and the cold night wind made her blood run cold.
"Xu Nuan, what... what do you want? I can give you anything you want, just don't kill me."
In the face of life and death, Rao Tingxue compromised without dignity.
"If I were to ask you to stop pursuing Qin Yaojie, and I would let you go, would you agree?"
Xu Nuan's lips curled into a wicked smile.

Rao Tingxue had a fleeting moment of thinking that Xu Nuan had seen through everything, but upon reflection, she realized this woman couldn't possibly know so much. Rao Tingxue reluctantly compromised.
Xu Nuan slightly withdrew the short knife, her expression growing cold and her tone indifferent.
"Isn't this game initiated by Rao Group? Why are you still struggling so desperately to get through it?"
Rao Tingxue looked weary; her face was bright yet revealed a sense of helplessness.
"Even I have to abide by the Game Rules when entering. This was set by my father and the production company; no one is exempt."
Xu Nuan gave Rao Tingxue a faint glance, seemingly assessing the truth of her words.
Rao Tingxue indeed knew very little, and it seemed that Chairman Rao did not care about the life or death of this future heir of the group. Why was that?
