He Min's words struck like thunder on a clear day, leaving Xu Nuan and the others stunned. However, it was Xu Nuan who was most surprised. She knew how deep He Min's feelings for Yu Hao were, and it was hard to imagine that she could fall for someone else just months after his passing.
Yet, emotions often defy reason. Xu Nuan herself was deeply entangled in her own feelings and had no right to judge He Min. As a friend, she should support her. However, based on Xu Nuan's understanding of the timeline in this game, He Min had little interaction with Yu Yu, and he wasn't the type she would typically be attracted to. This left her puzzled. What had started as a discussion about respecting temporary teammates had suddenly turned into a dramatic urban romance. No matter how much Xu Nuan worried about He Min, she could only watch as an outsider and refrain from intervening out of respect for He Min. Yet, from what she understood, Fan Beibei seemed to have already been involved with Yu Yu, and their interactions were quite intimate. Could He Min really be attracted to such a man? Remembering how often He Min defended Yu Yu, Xu Nuan suddenly realized that love was something impossible to decipher.
Yu Yu remained silent, appearing somewhat detached from the situation, which caused dissatisfaction among the onlookers who were growing increasingly critical of his usual polite demeanor.
However, at that moment, He Min didn't need Yu Yu's support; she could handle Fan Beibei on her own.
"Don't tell me you're Yu Yu's girlfriend?"
For the first time, a mocking expression appeared on He Min's gentle face as she fixed her gaze on Fan Beibei. She relished the look of panic on Fan Beibei's face; her smile was like a snake coiling around Fan Beibei's heart.
"You certainly seem close to Yu Yu, but you've also been involved with that Zhang Hui guy, haven't you? Tsk tsk, are you sure you have the right to speak here?"
Xu Nuan and the others were once again taken aback and instinctively glanced at Zhang Hui in the corner. They noticed his awkward expression and quickly looked away. They hadn't expected Fan Beibei to have intimate relationships with both of her teammates. This realization led them to reflexively look at Chi Xiaoming, who usually wore an expressionless face but now showed signs of impatience. It seemed Chi Xiaoming was aware of this situation but had chosen not to address it for the sake of team harmony. Moreover, since neither Yu Yu nor Zhang Hui had clashed over this matter, they felt even less inclined to intervene.

With such matters laid bare before everyone by He Min, Fan Beibei found herself utterly humiliated. Meanwhile, both Yu Yu and Zhang Hui remained silent and did not come to her aid in time. Yu Yu and Zhang Hui were momentarily stunned before instinctively following her out. As they passed by He Min, Yu Yu paused slightly but said nothing.
Chi Xiaoming watched the two figures disappearing into the distance and shook his head.
"A farce."
If it weren't for Fan Beibei's sharp tongue, He Min would never have brought this matter up. Unfortunately, Fan Beibei did not anticipate that He Min was aware of the situation. Upon closer examination, it seemed most likely that He Min learned about it through Yu Yu. Thus, Yu Yu's inner peace appeared to be disrupted.
Inside the cave, silence reigned once more. The few who had witnessed this farce without finding any clues felt somewhat awkward. Xu Nuan stole a glance at He Min and noticed that there was no joy of victory on her face; instead, she looked weary and casually settled into a corner.
Xu Nuan felt puzzled. She glanced back at the somewhat uncomfortable Gu Ze and Deng Yinyin, thought for a moment, and then walked over to sit beside He Min without saying a word.
After a while, He Min spoke up on her own, her voice heavy with fatigue, which made Xu Nuan's heart ache.
"Warm, please don't blame me. I get tired too."
Xu Nuan bit her lip in silence. Compared to her experience with the Third Batch of Players while remaining in this team, He Min had indeed endured more hardships alone. Wanting someone to accompany and care for her was entirely normal; she certainly couldn't blame He Min.
"If possible, please don't mention that person's name in front of me again."
Xu Nuan knew that the person referred to was Yu Hao. However, seeing He Min so exhausted and dispirited, Xu Nuan didn't believe that He Min had developed feelings for Yu Yu. On the contrary, forcing herself and those involved to forget the past, to not mention it at all, was the true meaning of never letting go for He Min. If she hadn’t let go, why push herself to accept another person? What had happened during this time? What was compelling He Min?
Various questions surged towards Xu Nuan like waves, and it was the pain in her shoulder that jolted her awake from her thoughts. Following the hand that He Min had pressed against her wound, Xu Nuan finally met He Min's anxious eyes, which held a certain fervor. In the end, she could only nod.
“If that’s the case, that would be great.”
He Min released her grip and sat back down, as if she had resolved something significant and found redemption for her soul.
Xu Nuan felt even more uneasy in her heart, but He Min did not provide any answers for her; perhaps she never would. Instead, He Min turned to Chi Xiaoming, who seemed indifferent yet was paying attention to the situation.
“I haven’t noticed anything unusual about Yu Yu or Fan Beibei. As for what they’ve gained, you can ask them when they return.”
With that, He Min didn’t wait for Chi Xiaoming to respond before wrapping herself in a blanket and leaning against the wall with her eyes closed, signaling that she no longer intended to engage with anyone.
Xu Nuan stared at her in a daze, feeling a whirlwind of emotions that left her speechless.
As she turned away from the wall, Xu Nuan met Gu Ze’s worried gaze. She forced a smile in an attempt to reassure him but ultimately failed.
More and more things were slipping out of her control, and she increasingly dreaded facing the future.
After a while, unable to contain herself, Deng Yinyin quietly approached and sat beside Xu Nuan. Her gaze fell on He Min, who seemed to have fallen asleep with her eyes closed. In a hushed voice, she asked,
“What on earth is going on?”
“I want to know too,” Xu Nuan replied, feeling a profound sense of helplessness rising within her that she couldn’t control.
“But,” perhaps due to concern for someone she recognized or perhaps sensing gossip in this perilous game devoid of entertainment, Deng Yinyin was particularly enthusiastic about the matter. She continued in a lowered voice, “But based on today’s events, isn’t Yu Yu just a hypocrite? This relationship doesn’t seem suitable; you’re her friend—why don’t you advise her?”
Xu Nuan shook her head, a complex expression on her face, yet she did not find anything wrong with Deng Yinyin's words.
"There is no such thing as an unsuitable relationship. What worries me more is that person's attitude. Besides, feelings are like drinking water; the warmth or coldness is a personal matter, and I have no right to interfere."
Her words were laden with meaning, and they drew Gu Ze's slightly intense gaze. In the matter concerning He Min, Yu Yu, and Yu Hao, she felt she had the least say. Just as she believed she had no right to meddle in Deng Yinyin's feelings for Gu Ze. Love is a personal affair, and a relationship is merely the intersection of two people's feelings at a certain time when they happen to like each other. She respected everyone's feelings, so even though she felt frustrated inside, she refrained from taking action because she knew that to others, she was the one who might be seen as an eyesore.
"Your words sound quite familiar."
Deng Yinyin suddenly changed her expression, looking displeased as if recalling something. She stopped dwelling on the issue with He Min and sat back down, turning to ask Gu Ze.
"Why haven't Xu Hang and Xie Huai returned yet? It would be terrible if they wandered too far and forgot how to come back."
"There's no rush; it's still early," Gu Ze replied to Deng Yinyin with his usual calm demeanor, playing the role of a companion well. "They might have found something valuable."
According to his thoughts, Zhou Long had likely gotten separated from his teammates. If that were the case, the chances of him encountering Xu Hang would increase significantly since his teammates could have gone in different directions. He always maintained a rational outlook while keeping a certain level of optimism, which was rooted in his confidence.
"I hope so."
Noticing Gu Ze's ever-calm attitude, Deng Yinyin pouted slightly in dissatisfaction. She wanted to take advantage of this rare opportunity to talk more with Gu Ze, her mind racing with thoughts.
