The appearance of Sheng Chao and Wu Yue was fleeting, causing some harm to Qi Huan and plunging He Min into an unsettling mood. Then, as if it were only natural, they left gracefully under the watchful eyes of experts like Gu Ze and Chi Xiaoming.
Gu Ze and Chi Xiaoming exchanged awkward glances; sometimes, being overly confident was not a good thing, as it could lead to embarrassment. Xu Nuan had no intention of probing into the thoughts of the others. In her hurried return, she found He Min at the mercy of others. In that instant, she couldn't afford to care about anything else. Fortunately, the outcome was positive. After carefully checking on He Min, Xu Nuan let out a sigh of relief, but the words she wanted to say rolled on her tongue for a long time before she finally managed to utter a name.
“Amin…”
Wu Yue was a presence that He Min despised; she was aware of this. Wu Yue was actually a guide who had entered the game at just five years old, three years younger than He Min. After entering the game, He Min learned that Wu Yue had interacted with Yu Hao outside of the game; their parents had a good relationship, and they were quite familiar with each other. This wasn't an issue in itself; it was just that Wu Yue had become somewhat spoiled due to her parents' influence and regarded Yu Hao as an older brother, relying heavily on him.
Yu Hao was an honest person; this was evident to all. He truly cared for He Min but also treated Wu Yue like a sister and looked after her from time to time. As for He Min, being a few years older than Wu Yue and having more life experience meant she wasn't bothered by this sibling-like affection.
However, once these two let down their guards and Wu Yue transformed her dependence into romantic feelings, things began to change. Yu Hao and He Min had been in love for many years, weathering many storms together. This would have been a minor subplot if not for its occurrence within this life-and-death game, which made both of their nerves taut as bowstrings.
It was a rare explosion between them, yet the instigator had fled without consequence. With Wu Yue gone and wounds still fresh, before either could fully process their pain, Yu Hao died. Now that Wu Yue reappeared, even if He Min had moved on to someone else, she would not swallow her anger quietly.
But did such a strong reaction towards Wu Yue imply that He Min still harbored feelings for Yu Hao?
In that fleeting moment, Xu Nuan entertained this thought but quickly shook it off as she focused intently on He Min. Upon closer inspection, she didn't miss the flicker of resentment in He Min's eyes and felt a jolt of surprise that made her want to ask more.

As soon as she spoke, she realized how inadequate her words were in expressing her thoughts clearly.
“She must have believed the rumors spread by Wang Huacheng and his group; next time we see her, we can teach her a lesson.”
Xu Nuan swore she hadn't misread the murderous intent that flashed in He Min's eyes after she spoke those words. Following resentment came murder; what had happened that Xu Nuan was unaware of? Moreover, why was He Min so openly displaying such negative emotions?
She found herself struggling to comprehend it all and reached out to steady He Min's shoulder to ask more questions but was swiftly brushed off by He Min's hand.
"I know, this matter doesn't need to be addressed; it's an account between her and me!"
Xu Nuan was taken aback as she watched the distant figure retreating. For the first time, she felt such a sense of unfamiliarity. The distance and indifference emanating from that silhouette were painfully evident, and she realized her eyes were dry and stinging. While her heart was heavy with sorrow, Xu Nuan, determined to reclaim what she had continuously lost, refused to succumb to despair. No, there was still another party involved. She glanced in the direction Wu Yue had left and instinctively adjusted her path to head that way.
"Nuan."
Before she could take a step, Gu Ze called out to her, followed by a hand resting gently on her shoulder, giving it a light pat.
"It's not too late for us to leave this place and stop waiting for something to happen."
After that heartfelt conversation, the barriers between them had significantly diminished. Perhaps there would still be conflicts and disagreements in the future, but as long as they bravely took a step forward, there would be hope for resolution.
This love had been unbalanced from the start, but it could be adjusted through their interactions, preventing it from toppling over.
In an instant, Xu Nuan thought of many things and came to understand even more.
"Okay, I understand now."
She turned her head to face Gu Ze, looking into the sunlight with a slight smile.
"I understand now."
As she brushed past and headed toward Qi Huan's direction, Xu Nuan suddenly felt compelled to say something.
"Ze, I'm really glad I met you."
If she hadn't encountered Gu Ze, perhaps she would have fallen into a negative emotional state like He Min. She felt so fortunate; what was there to complain about?
So lucky, she should earnestly work on mending her relationship with He Min. The return of Xu Nuan brought a path forward. She had once been expelled from this formation, and how she found an opportunity to break back in was key to solving the mechanism this time.
With this key discovered, the stage was set for Gu Ze and Chi Xiaoming.
A tremendous roar echoed once more. As the dust settled, familiar faces appeared in different places.
Xu Nuan scanned the area but found no trace of Sheng Chao or Wu Yue.
"Don't worry, there will be another chance. No need to rush."
Before Xu Nuan could change her expression, Gu Ze's voice rang out again.
Xu Nuan chuckled lightly, warmth swelling in her heart. Her newfound understanding was largely thanks to the unexpected arrival of Qi Huan.
"Don't worry, I know."
As she smiled, Xu Nuan glanced over at He Min, who stood quietly nearby. Her expression was not one of anger at the absence of the two men.
This was the He Min Xu Nuan recognized; she was now certain that He Min's earlier fury had merely been a reaction to seeing Wu Yue again.
Qi Huan, with her wounds bandaged, stood silently to the side, listening to Deng Yinyin's cries due to her injuries, Xie Huai's comforting words, and Xu Hang's impatient reprimands. A bitter smile slowly crept onto her face. Her gaze drifted between Xu Nuan and He Min before finally settling on the lush mountains and forests beyond, her eyes somewhat distant.
Sometimes those who are at odds understand each other better. Conversely, those who seem close may never reach each other's hearts.
She had already discerned why He Min would change and make such choices. People like Xu Nuan and Deng Yinyin would never understand. Because once upon a time, she too had nearly walked down the same path as He Min. However, she did not consider herself to have turned back from the brink; she simply did not want her pursuit of an elegant life to be ruined in an instant.
And for that kind of life, she chose silence at this moment. Thus, Xu Nuan would remain unaware that the so-called past between Wu Yue and He Min was nothing but a farce.
Just as they efficiently resolved this mechanism and confidently moved toward the next challenge ahead, Sheng Chao and Wu Yue were huddled together in a corner of this stage discussing something.
"What do you mean by that? Didn't she send us to kill Qi Huan? Why is she suddenly trying to stop us?"
Wu Yue, who had once been cared for by Yu Hao like a sister and nearly had a relationship with him, wrinkled her nose. Although she looked charming and endearing, at that moment, Sheng Chao had no mood to appreciate it.
Sheng Chao was an entertainment reporter who had been navigating that industry for many years. While he lacked other skills, his observational abilities were well-honed.
