At seven fifty-five, Shen Kun politely greeted Ye Tong and the others standing outside the car to get in.
Ye Tong climbed into the vehicle, glanced around, and with a mischievous grin, flashed a smile at Li Wei, who was sitting in the back seat. He plopped down in the seat right behind the driver.
Fang Jia Shen entered the car while talking on the phone. He noticed Zhao Jun sitting next to Li Wei, smirked, and made a throat-cutting gesture with his hand. With a playful grin, he sat down beside Ye Tong and said loudly, "Ye, I heard this Teacher Zhao is an elementary school teacher at Weicai Private School, teaching geography or something like that—just a small fry. I heard he saved Young Master Wei's life a few years ago; it seems that's their connection."
Ye Tong turned around to meet Zhao Jun's gaze and chuckled before turning back to Fang Jia Shen. "Fang, nowadays anyone can be a teacher, even those who mislead students. I heard the chairman of Weicai has some ties to your family; shouldn’t we do something about these scoundrels ruining our nation's youth?"
Fang Jia Shen laughed heartily. "The chairman of Weicai used to be my father's secretary. I'll have a word with him later and suggest he clean up the teaching staff—get rid of those useless teachers."
Ye Tong and Fang Jia Shen burst into raucous laughter.
Li Wei could no longer hold back and suddenly stood up, pointing at Ye Tong's head. "Hey, Ye! What makes you think you can come after me? Picking on my friends isn’t impressive."
Zhao Jun reached out and grabbed Li Wei's arm, chuckling. "Li Wei, did you hear that barking? Why not just let him yap? Worst case, I’ll find another job."
Ye Tong turned to Li Wei with a grin. "Young Master Wei, how could I forget you? Just wait for the live stream of your downfall."
As he spoke, Ye Tong pointed at Zhao Jun with an air of superiority. "Teacher Zhao, I guarantee you won’t find a job in this city from now on. Just wait and see. However, if you kneel down now and beg for mercy, maybe I’ll let you off the hook."
Zhao Jun coldly smiled and pulled Li Wei back down before saying to him, "Li Wei, when the cow gets taken away by the elephant, what do you think will happen when it returns?"
Li Wei paused for a moment before bursting into laughter. "It'll be one big deal; no need to guess!"
Zhao Jun laughed heartily and gave Li Wei a thumbs up. "Congratulations on getting it right."
"Wow," both Ye Tong and Fang Jia Shen jumped up simultaneously, feeling teased by a primary school teacher. This was an unprecedented occurrence for them.
Just as Shen Kun boarded the vehicle and noticed that a conflict was about to erupt, he hurriedly put on a smiling face and tried to mediate, pushing Ye Tong and Fang Jia Shen back into their seats while repeatedly apologizing, "Young Master Ye, Young Master Fang, please calm down. For my sake, let’s keep it down. We’ll be departing soon."
Ye Tong pointed at Zhao Jun, saying, "Just wait; you'll see."
Shen Kun deliberately positioned himself in the aisle to block the line of sight between Ye Tong and Zhao Jun.
Ye Tong angrily pointed at Shen Kun's nose and shouted, "What do you mean we’re not leaving? Who do you think you are?"
Just as Ye Tong finished speaking, a gentle voice came from the entrance of the carriage, "Shen Kun, we’re leaving at eight o'clock, right?"
Everyone turned to look at the entrance and saw a young man in his thirties wearing gold-rimmed glasses and casual attire, smiling as he walked in. At that moment, he raised his wrist to check his watch.
Upon recognizing the young man, Shen Kun quickly approached him with a broad smile, eager to take the travel bag from his hands while saying, "Mr. Yang, you’re here! It’s an eight o'clock departure."
Mr. Yang lowered his wrist and smiled as he declined Shen Kun's offer for assistance. He glanced at Ye Tong before turning back to Shen Kun with a smile, "Seven fifty-nine. Luckily I’m not late; otherwise, I would have been scolded."
Clearly, Mr. Yang had overheard what Ye Tong had just said.
Shen Kun continued to flatter him with a grin, "Mr. Yang’s sense of time is even more precise than the stock market clock."
Mr. Yang smiled slightly and asked Shen Kun, "Where should I sit?"
Shen Kun replied with a smile, "Please feel free to choose your seat, Mr. Yang. There are only eight guests on this vehicle today; it’s quite spacious."
Mr. Yang smiled slightly and pointed to the passenger seat, saying, "Then I'll sit here; I prefer a wider view."
Shen Kun quickly gestured for him to take a seat. "Please, Mr. Yang, make yourself comfortable."
Mr. Yang settled into the passenger seat and pulled out a small iPad from his travel bag, opening it without saying another word.
Watching Mr. Yang take the passenger seat, Ye Tong frowned slightly and leaned toward Fang Jia Shen, whispering, "Do you know this person?"
Fang Jia Shen shook his head gently. "Not at all."
Ye Tong scoffed. If even the ever-flirtatious Fang Jia Shen didn't recognize him, it meant Mr. Yang was likely not someone of significance.
Ye Tong raised his head and asked Shen Kun, "Shen Kun, is everyone here? Let's get moving."
Shen Kun hesitated, smiling apologetically at Ye Tong. "Young Master Ye, we're still waiting for one more person. Please bear with us a little longer."
"Damn it, what kind of trash is allowed in this car? Shen Kun, your vehicle stinks; my brother and I will just drive our own cars and follow you," Ye Tong said as he stood up.
Seeing Ye Tong stand, Fang Jia Shen also got up and looked at Shen Kun with a grin. "Yeah, this junk car smells terrible; we'll drive ourselves."
Shen Kun hesitated for a moment, glancing at Li Wei and Zhao Jun in the backseat who were not on good terms with Ye Tong and Fang Jia Shen. Finally, he nodded and said, "Young Master Ye, Young Master Fang, let's head directly to the airport shortly. You two need to keep close; we have several flights to catch on this trip. If we miss one, we could miss them all."
"Got it; enough with the nonsense," Ye Tong waved his hand impatiently as he strode toward the car door.
Just as Ye Tong was about to exit the vehicle, a Lamborghini Gallardo sped up and screeched to a halt right next to the minibus door with an ear-piercing brake sound.
Just as Ye Tong was about to step out of the car, he quickly pulled his foot back in fright and shouted at the driver of the Lamborghini, "Are you blind or something?"
The window of the Lamborghini rolled down, and a beautiful woman poked her head out, sticking out her tongue and smiling at Ye Tong. "Sorry, sorry! Is this the car for 'Winner Winner, Chicken Dinner'?"
As soon as Ye Tong saw the woman, his eyes sparkled with excitement. He hurriedly nodded at her. "Yes, beautiful! This is 'Winner Winner, Chicken Dinner.' May I ask your name?"
The Lamborghini girl flashed a playful smile, revealing her little canine teeth. "Good thing I made it! Wait for me just a minute; I need to park the car."
With that, she revved the engine and sped off with a roar of tires against the pavement, heading straight into the hotel parking lot.
"Wow, who is that spicy girl?" Ye Tong asked Fang Jia Shen, who was standing behind him.
Fang Jia Shen pondered for a moment before replying, "We don't have anyone like that in our city. From her accent, it sounds like she's from Beijing. I suspect she might be related to the Old Tang Family."
Old Tang Family?
Ye Tong's eyes lit up. In their city, the Old Tang Family was even more powerful than the Jiang Rui Family. The Old Tang Family had roots in Beijing and was a super family that could shake both political and business circles with just a stomp.
At that moment, Shen Kun, who had been following Ye Tong and Fang Jia Shen, chimed in with a smile, "Young Master Ye, Young Master Fang, everyone has arrived. Are you two driving yourselves or riding in our car?"
Ye Tong suddenly burst into laughter. "I suddenly feel like your old junk car isn't so bad after all. I won't drive; I'll just make do with your car."
Shen Kun chuckled knowingly. "Then please take your seats, Young Masters Ye and Fang. We'll be on our way shortly."
