Wu Rong walked a bit awkwardly to Rao Jie, wanting to comfort her. However, his mind was blank, filled only with the sight of Rao Jie’s tear-streaked face. For the first time, he despised himself for being so clueless about human emotions; at such a critical moment, he didn’t even know how to console her.
Rao Jie’s phone rang incessantly, someone was trying to reach her, and Wu Rong's phone was also buzzing. Yet neither of them answered their calls, simply gazing at each other.

Wu Rong felt tormented by Rao Jie’s repeated cries of "Professor Wu," each one laced with sorrow. At that moment, Rao Jie seemed as fragile as a droplet of water, ready to shatter with the slightest touch.
Suddenly, he pulled Rao Jie into his embrace. Gently patting her back, he reassured her, “I’m here; it’s going to be okay!”
Rao Jie couldn’t hold back her tears any longer and cried out loud in Wu Rong's arms. “Why… I’ve worked so hard; why doesn’t anyone believe me?”
Wu Rong took a deep breath in frustration and clumsily repeated, “It’s okay, it’s okay.”
Rao Jie wrapped her arms around Wu Rong's waist, sobbing as if seeking rescue. “Professor Wu… what should I do? Help me.”
Wu Rong's expression grew serious as his phone continued to ring. This time he answered; it was Ye Ming calling.
Understanding Wu Rong’s temperament well, Ye Ming spoke before he could say anything. “We’ve found out it’s Jiang Chuchu from their class. “She’s clever; recently there have been inspections at the school. She reported it and seems prepared to go down with a fight. Wu Rong remained silent with a cold expression and gently pulled away from Rao Jie. “Change your clothes and wash your face; we’re going to school to clear your name and hit them back.”
Rao Jie looked at Wu Rong through tear-filled eyes, her vulnerability evident.
Wu Rong cupped her face in his hands and wiped away her tears. “Trust me!”
After saying that, he gently placed a kiss on Rao Jie's forehead, a pure and warm comforting kiss.
Rao Jie touched her forehead in a daze, her mind too chaotic to react immediately, simply staring blankly at Wu Rong.
Perhaps it was Wu Rong's gaze that was too resolute; even though she didn't know what he had planned, Rao Jie felt a surge of courage and nodded slightly.
Wu Rong released Rao Jie and stepped outside to continue his phone call with Ye Ming.
If they were going to play, they would play big—completely silencing those keyboard warriors online. He would not allow this matter to cast even the slightest shadow over Rao Jie's future life.
Wu Rong and Ye Ming discussed everything, and Ye Ming went off to make arrangements. Wu Rong then took Rao Jie to school.
In the car, Rao Jie finally regained her composure. She noticed several missed calls on her phone and decided to answer one, which was naturally from Long Yong, who had been worried about her.
"Senior, don't worry. I'm just heading to school to explain things. I'm with Professor Wu; it's all fine. I... I'm okay. The innocent will clear their name."
