The scene underwater was indeed beautiful. When you dive, you feel as if you are a fish yourself. If it weren't for my job as a Diver, there are some marine creatures I might never have the chance to appreciate in my lifetime. 0

After about half a minute, Shunzi and I had already reached the seabed. I estimated the water depth to be around ten meters. We split up into four groups, each of us starting our own search. Although we were separated, the distance wasn't too far, allowing us to keep each other in sight for safety reasons. 0

Sea Cucumbers looked adorable underwater, like sleeping children. These creatures are highly nutritious and considered a delicacy. The Sea Cucumbers we were harvesting would fetch a high price on the market, something ordinary folks could only dream of. 0

I kept collecting Sea Cucumbers, and my net was already half full. Seeing that I had found a good spot, Shunzi came over to join me. Just as I was feeling pleased with my haul, I suddenly noticed something alarming—the fish began to swim erratically. 0

I realized that a large creature must be approaching. I quickly turned around and saw a massive shadow swiftly moving toward us. When it was less than ten meters away, I gasped as I finally recognized what it was—a shark. 0

It was moving incredibly fast and seemed about to collide with us. Without thinking, I shoved Shunzi aside just in time for the shark to pass between us. That was close! Thankfully, it didn't brush against us. 0

If it had made contact, it would have been disastrous—tearing through both my Diving Suit and flesh. As the shark swam past me, I got a good look at it; it was nearly three meters long—a Great White Shark, one of the few species known to actively attack humans. 0

This type of shark is notoriously aggressive, second only to the bloodthirsty Great White Shark itself, and is relatively large. After several years at sea, I had some knowledge about sharks, but this was my first encounter with one while diving. 0

I couldn't tell what had attracted it here. Shunzi looked terrified; from his wide-eyed expression, I could tell his face must have gone pale. Although I couldn't see him clearly, I could imagine how he felt. 0

To be honest, I was sweating bullets myself. If I hadn't been able to keep my composure, I might have screamed out loud. I kept my eyes fixed on the shark's every move. If it truly wanted to attack us, we wouldn't stand a chance; its speed far surpassed ours. 0

However, I noticed that it wasn't coming for us but heading straight toward the other two Divers. This was bad; something terrible was about to happen. Sure enough, the Great White Shark collided with one of them, sending him spinning in the water as blood gushed from his waist, instantly staining the surrounding sea red. 0

This Blood Smell would attract more sharks nearby; we needed to get out of here fast. The other Diver saw what happened and began screaming in panic as bubbles erupted from his Breathing Apparatus. He frantically swam upward, desperate to escape the impending doom. 0

What an idiot! His actions would only draw the shark closer—did he really think he could outrun it? Seeing this unfold, Shunzi quickly pulled out his Paratrooper Knife and prepared to rush over to help. I had to admit that Shunzi was quite brave; most people would have fled by now. 0

I hurriedly grabbed him and shook my head vigorously while gesturing wildly. In deep water, that knife wouldn't do anything against a shark; its scales were too tough for any blade to penetrate. The resistance underwater made it impossible to exert any force effectively. 0

At that moment, the shark didn't pursue the injured Diver but instead swam rapidly upward. I realized it was going after the other fleeing Diver. Quickly signaling Shunzi, I urged him to go help the injured Diver instead. 0

I quickly swam upward, and at that moment, I witnessed the horrifying scene: as the Diver was about to surface, a shark had already caught up. It opened its massive jaws wide, revealing sharp teeth that sent chills down my spine. In an instant, it clamped down on the Diver's calf, and blood erupted around them. 0

The Diver went into a frenzy, pounding the shark's head with his fists, but it was futile. The shark seemed intent on dragging him into deeper waters. If that happened, he would surely die. I had to find a way to save him. 0

There was no time to think. The Oxygen Tank was too heavy. I quickly unstrapped it and surged toward the surface. As I broke through, I shouted urgently, "Lao Chang, toss me the Spear!" 0

Lao Chang, still unaware of what was happening, poked his head out and yelled back, "Loyalty and Righteousness, what's going on? What happened?" 0

"Just throw it to me! There's a shark!" I had no time for explanations; if I delayed any longer, the Diver would be in grave danger! 0

Upon hearing there was a shark, Lao Chang hurriedly threw the Spear my way while warning, "Be careful with it!" 0

I steadied myself with the Spear and took a deep breath before diving back down. Thankfully, my speed was sufficient! The Diver hadn't been dragged away yet; he was still fighting desperately against the shark. In moments of extreme fear, humans can tap into hidden reserves of strength, but against such a large predator, that potential is often insufficient. 0

The surrounding water remained stained red as the shark thrashed about, creating waves that muddied the underwater visibility. If this continued for much longer, the Diver's life would be in serious jeopardy. However, if I was too far away underwater, the Spear would be useless against the shark. 0

With no other option left, I pushed myself toward the shark with all my might. When I was less than a meter away from it, the shark seemed to sense my approach and swung its tail violently toward me. I quickly raised my arm to shield my chest, but its power was overwhelming. The impact tore through my arm and sent me flying several meters away; the pain was excruciating. 0

Gritting my teeth against the force of the blow, I pressed forward again. This time, when I got within striking distance of the shark, I didn’t wait for it to attack. I swiftly drew out the Spear and thrust it directly into its gills. The shark immediately released its grip. 0

Seizing this opportunity, I lunged forward and grabbed the Diver, pulling him toward me. I knew that injuring a shark's gills could be fatal; even if it didn't kill it outright, it would likely be incapacitated for a while. 0

Sure enough, it did not pursue us but instead thrashed in place. We needed to get away quickly—I was still holding my breath! With great effort, I dragged the injured Diver upstream. My wounded arm had drained much of my strength. When we finally surfaced, Shunzi and Lao Chang rushed to pull us aboard. 0

It seemed Shunzi had taken advantage of the chaos caused by the shark's attack to help others escape. Just as we were hoisted onto the boat, I noticed more sharks approaching in the distance—drawn in by the scent of blood. 0

Lao Chang quickly started up the fishing boat and revved up the engine to flee. Sitting on board, I gasped for air; this had truly been a brutal battle! After everything that had just happened, every muscle in my body felt tense and my heart raced uncontrollably. I checked my injured arm—it wasn't too serious; just some surface wounds—my bones seemed intact. 0

Then I glanced at the Diver’s leg that had been bitten; it was a gruesome sight! His entire left leg was mangled beyond recognition; only a small piece of flesh connected at his knee joint while his bone had been shattered and blood continued to flow from the wound. Such injuries would undoubtedly lead to permanent disability. 0

His face was a bit pale, and his consciousness was already fading; he was about to roll his eyes back. This was likely caused by excessive blood loss, and immediate rescue was necessary. At this rate, he wouldn't last much longer. 0

Lao Chang called his son over to steer the boat. The son came over, took a look at the injured person, and with a poor complexion said, "My God, how did it come to this? Where did this shark come from?" 0

Shunzi shot him a glare and replied sternly, "Where else could it come from? Your son just attracted it by peeing in the water." 0

"Pee?" I looked at Lao Chang and asked, "Did your son just pee in the sea?" 0

Lao Chang awkwardly replied, "Uh! Well... he couldn't hold it in at that moment, so... he just went in the sea." 0

"Damn it, are you crazy? He's an idiot, and you're an idiot too! Don't you know that urine can attract sharks?" I shouted at Lao Chang. Because of his son's foolishness, we were almost killed. 0

Lao Chang didn't know what to say in response to my scolding. He wasn't unaware of this; from the first day I became a diver, I had told him repeatedly not to pee in the sea as it would attract sharks. 0

"What are you all arguing about? It's just a little pee! Am I supposed to hold it in? Besides, he's not dead yet; what's the rush?" Lao Chang's son said nonchalantly from the front of the boat, as if it had nothing to do with him. 0

This kid was simply inhuman; he was even worse than an animal. When lives were at stake, he remained indifferent. Anger surged through me as I stood up to yell, "You bastard, do you even count as a human?" 0

As I spoke, I was about to go over and hit him when Shunzi and Lao Chang hurriedly pulled me back. Lao Chang kept apologizing profusely. He was generally a good-hearted person, but how could he have such a useless son? If it weren't for my respect for him, I would have thrown this brat into the sea to feed the sharks. If this had been my old temper, I would have even hit Lao Chang... 0
