The smell of blood in the cabin grew stronger, with corpses floating all around. I could hardly imagine that just moments ago, they were all living people. Now, they had turned into cold, lifeless bodies, and I felt my heart racing. Although I felt no sorrow for the deaths of these bastards, their demise filled me with fear. 0

"Yi... Brother Yi, what... what happened?" Shunzi's voice rang in my ears. Perhaps seeing the light source, he managed to crawl over. 0

I replied coldly without turning my head, "I don't know what happened. How did they all die?" 0

"It must have been that female corpse, Brother Yi. We're in big trouble this time," Jiao Ba said with a trembling voice. 0

"Everyone be careful and watch your surroundings." I tried to remain calm and shone the flashlight around the cabin, but I found no trace of the female corpse. 0

The Bloodsucker Worm outside the hatch seemed to have quieted down. Aside from the bodies everywhere, everything had returned to its previous state. The coffin was still there, its lid wide open. Yet I couldn't see inside; I just had a feeling that the female corpse was still lying there or perhaps she was somewhere in this cabin. 0

"Yi... Brother Yi, what should we do now?" Shunzi said weakly, while Jiao Ba supported him. Despite their usual bickering, these two were reliable in critical moments. If it weren't for Jiao Ba trying to save him, he wouldn't have been injured by the Bloodsucker Worm; at least this guy had some loyalty. 0

"First, let's find something for self-defense, then we'll figure out how to get out." I quickly crouched down and reached into the seawater beneath me to search. Jiao Ba was also searching while supporting Shunzi. I noticed something strange: the seawater seemed much deeper now; it was already up to my waist. What was going on? Could it be that the wreck was slowly sinking? 0

Jiao Ba quickly retrieved a handgun from a dead man's hand—it was a military-style replica of a Type 54 pistol. I checked it and said, "There's still ammunition in this gun; it can be used. Just be careful not to fire it accidentally." Then I tossed the gun back to Jiao Ba. 0

Jiao Bayi held the pistol in one hand while supporting Shunzi with the other, his head moving back and forth as he observed our surroundings. From his tense expression, it was clear he was on high alert; after all, this was a matter of life and death—there could be no carelessness. 0

I continued searching underwater for a while before finally finding a sharp knife, also retrieved from a corpse. I gripped the knife tightly when suddenly a thought struck me: what had that Bearded Man found in the female corpse's mouth that made him so excited? I needed to find that thing. 0

With that thought in mind, I quickly said to them both, "We can't leave yet; we need to find Bearded Man's body and get whatever he had." 0

Upon hearing this, Jiao Bayi panicked: "What? You still want to look for it? What time is it now? That thing is worth less than our lives! Brother Yi, let's just go! It's too cold here; Shunzi looks like he can barely hold on." 0

"Isn't there anything that can solve these problems? Besides, can you guarantee that there are no Bloodsucker Worms outside the Hatch? If we open the Hatch, we won't just run away; we'll die right here," I glared at him and said irritably. 0

Jiao Ba sighed, "But I'm really afraid Shunzi can't hold on! And... I feel like that female corpse is still here." 0

Jiao Ba was terrified, and honestly, I was trembling inside too. But I had to find that thing. Shunzi's face had turned pale from blood loss. Damn it, even if he couldn't hold on, he had to try. I glanced at Jiao Ba and said, "You keep an eye on Shunzi for me; I'll go look for it myself." 0

Before Jiao Ba could respond, I took the flashlight and moved forward. The cold seawater hit me as I searched through one corpse after another. The water was getting deeper; it seemed the wreck was truly sinking. Originally, Bearded Man's hefty figure would have been easy to spot, but if he was really dead, he'd probably end up shriveled and blackened like these corpses. So I had to check each body one by one. 0

I flipped over several corpses, but none were Bearded Man. Although their faces were unrecognizable, I still recognized the clothes Bearded Man wore. Where could he be? I was starting to lose my patience. 0

"Yi... Brother Yi, if you can't find him... just stop looking. This place is too cold," Jiao Ba's trembling voice came from behind. 0

I didn't have time to respond to him and continued searching through the other bodies. We had checked all the corpses around us and still hadn't found Bearded Man. Now, aside from the coffin area, I'd checked everywhere else. Holding the flashlight, I stared at the coffin in a daze. To be honest, I felt a bit uneasy and didn't dare to get too close to it; every time I looked at it, a chill ran down my spine. 0

Jiao Ba kept urging me from behind to leave. Fine, I'll go take a look first. I adjusted my state of mind and walked briskly toward the coffin. As I got closer, I slowed my pace, keeping my knife ready for any sudden events. 0

The light from my flashlight spread around the coffin as my eyes scanned the surroundings, fearing that the female corpse might suddenly leap out at me. Once I confirmed there was no immediate danger nearby, I dared to move closer. Soon, I reached beside the coffin and shone the flashlight inside while raising my knife high with my right hand. If that female corpse was really there, I'd stab her right in the face without hesitation. 0

But this time, I was a bit overly tense; the coffin was empty—nothing inside at all. Stupidly, I shone the flashlight again just to be sure: indeed, nothing was there. 0

I chuckled self-deprecatingly, but just as I relaxed my guard, Jiao Ba's loud shout came from behind: "Brother Yi! Watch out!" 0

I turned around sharply to find a cold gun barrel aimed at my head. A man who looked like a bear—fat and covered in blood—was panting heavily as he stared at me; it was Bearded Man. This bastard was still alive after all! But judging by his condition, he wasn't in good shape either—he looked utterly miserable. 0

"I knew you weren't dead; you've got quite the hard life," I said softly as I looked at him. Where had this guy been hiding? After searching for so long without finding him, it seemed he wasn't so easy to deal with after all. 0

Bearded Man wiped some blood off his face and said, "You're pretty tough too! So many of my men are dead, yet you bastards are still alive! Damn it, I'm going to blow you away." He seemed agitated as he pushed the gun forward slightly. 0

"Put the gun down, you fat bastard, or I'll shoot you first," Jiao Ba shouted, aiming his pistol at the Bearded Man, who stood a short distance away. Shunzi remained dazed, unsure if he could make it through this. 0

The Bearded Man replied slowly, "Alright! Let's see who dares to pull the trigger." Despite having his back to Jiao Ba, he showed no signs of fear. I could see in his eyes that he was ready to risk it all; whether it was a bluff or not, at least he had the guts. 0

Jiao Ba hesitated. Although he didn't lower his weapon, he didn't dare to respond either. I chuckled and said, "We're lucky to be alive; why do you want to drag us down with you?" 0

The Bearded Man glared at us with bloodshot eyes and cursed, "Screw you! If it weren't for you, my men wouldn't have died like this. I'm going to make sure you join them." 0

I scratched my head in frustration and replied, "Listen, big guy, you're the one who wanted to chase after this treasure. Your brothers' deaths have nothing to do with me! Do you really think I'm scared of your rusty gun?" I meant it; I was confident I could take him down in one go. 0

"I'll blow your—" 0

"Blow it out your ass! You should be thinking about how to get out of here! Even if you kill me, can you escape this wreck?" Before he could finish his sentence, I shouted back at him. 0

His words caught him off guard; the grip on his gun loosened slightly. Seizing the moment when he relaxed his guard, I rushed forward and executed a swift disarm maneuver, snatching the gun from his hand. In one fluid motion, I pressed a knife against his throat. The Bearded Man was stunned by my quick actions. 0

I smirked and said, "Now who's taking whose life? Where's the stuff? Hand it over, and I might consider letting you keep your head." Just as I finished speaking, I sensed some movement in the water behind me. 0

The Bearded Man's expression shifted entirely as fear washed over him. "Brother Yi... Brother Yi..." At that moment, Jiao Ba's voice reached us. This was bad; I knew what was coming behind me... 0
