The atmosphere in the operations center seemed to solidify, and the heavy mood made everyone unconsciously hold their breath. This mission was undoubtedly an unprecedented challenge, where every detail had to be calculated precisely. The slightest mistake could lead to the failure of the entire plan, or even loss of life. For Leo, although he had experienced the battlefield before, facing such a high-risk stealth and assassination mission inevitably filled him with tension and unease. His eyes scanned the operations center, trying to find a hint of comfort or reassurance from his teammates' expressions. 0

Sarah, Emily, and the other team members also showed concern about the mission through their expressions. They were each immersed in their own thoughts, evaluating the risks of the mission and their own preparedness. However, in stark contrast to their concerns was Jim's reaction. A hint of excitement hung on his face, seemingly looking forward to the upcoming challenge. His eyes sparkled with a desire for excitement, as if this kind of mission, full of unknowns and dangers, was exactly what he longed for. 0

"Come on, it's just a mission," Jim finally broke the silence, his voice filled with unrestrained enthusiasm, "This is exactly the purpose of our Valkyrie mercenary group. There's risk, there's challenge, but it's also our chance to prove ourselves." 0

Although Jim's words were meant to boost morale, they also inadvertently added to the pressure in the air. Everyone knew that this mission was unlike any other before. They were about to enter a realm full of unknowns and dangers, and each person had to be fully prepared to have a chance at coming out unscathed. Leo took a deep breath, silently telling himself that no matter how difficult the road ahead may be, he had to persevere, for his teammates and for his own beliefs. 0

Alex's words seemed to inject a warm current into the tense atmosphere, his determination and confidence bringing a sense of comfort to everyone present. Despite the daunting nature of the mission still weighing on everyone's minds, Alex's words served as a reminder that the team's belief and cooperation were their greatest reliance in facing any challenge. 0

In silence, everyone nodded, each with their own plans and preparations for the upcoming mission. They gazed at the holographic image of the Orlando Star on the table, trying to find any possible advantages and strategies. However, this heavy atmosphere was disrupted by Jim's actions. With an almost casual attitude, he patted Leo's shoulder, attempting to alleviate everyone's tension with his unrestrained optimism. 0

"Come on, Leo, stop staring at these headache-inducing things. We have ways to deal with them," Jim said half-jokingly, with a hint of subtle concern, "Let's go arrange your room so you have a comfortable place to rest. After the meeting later, you have a lot to learn." 0

Jim led Leo away from the tense atmosphere of the command center, through the corridors of the base, heading towards the third floor. Alex watched the two of them leave, nodding slightly as a faint smile appeared on his face, as if to acknowledge Jim's inadvertent display of leadership. After their footsteps gradually faded away, Alex turned his gaze back to the screens in the command center, immersing himself in the upcoming mission plan. 0

Jim pushed Leo while explaining the various details of the base. His tone was relaxed and full of energy, trying to alleviate Leo's worries about the mission. "Here is the lounge, over there is the armory, and our rooms are on the third floor," Jim pointed out the various doorways along the way, introducing each one. "Don't be fooled by the unassuming exterior of this place; the facilities inside are fully equipped, and you can find everything you need here." 0

Upon reaching the third floor, Jim led Leo through a long corridor and finally stopped in front of a door. "This is your room," Jim said as he opened the door. "It may not be as luxurious as a five-star hotel, but it's clean and comfortable. Let us know if you need anything at any time." 0

Jim led Leo through the corridors of the base towards the dormitory they were about to share. As they got closer to their destination, Leo could feel a mix of tension and curiosity. When the door was pushed open, a strong sense of life hit them, in stark contrast to the tidy environment at the Douglas clinic. 0

The room was simple in layout but showed signs of being fully utilized for living. The lower bunk was piled with various items: unfolded clothes, scattered personal belongings, and even a few empty beer cans. Some trash was scattered on the floor, indicating it hadn't been properly cleaned for some time. The air was a mix of sweat and the sour smell of decaying food, making the space feel somewhat stifling. 0

Jim seems to be indifferent to the condition of the room, casually guiding Leo in while saying, "This is our little haven, nothing fancy, but enough for us to rest and relax. Your bed is on the top bunk, I know it's a bit messy, I'll tidy it up for you in a bit." 0

Leo stood at the doorway, somewhat bewildered by the room filled with "life." He couldn't help but think that this environment was a world away from his previous military life. However, at the same time, he realized that this was part of the mercenary life, a kind of freedom away from the discipline and constraints of regular military life. Despite feeling somewhat uncomfortable with the room, Leo also knew that this would be the start of his new life, a beginning to face challenges and the unknown together with Jim and the other teammates. 0

Leo walked into the room quietly, and his relaxed mood suddenly tensed when his foot accidentally stepped on something unusually soft and obviously not part of the floor. Instinctively, he quickly lifted his foot and subconsciously looked down at the ground. There, a visibly worn and dirty pair of underwear lay quietly, seemingly silently witnessing the daily chaos of the room. 0

Jim saw this scene, and a hint of embarrassment flashed across his face. He smiled awkwardly, quickly walked over, bent down to pick up the underwear, and said to Leo with a smile, "Ah! Sorry about that, I forgot to tidy up." With that, he casually tossed the underwear into a corner laundry basket, as if this little incident was just a trivial part of their mercenary life. 0

This little incident left Leo feeling somewhat amused and exasperated, but it also made him realize that living with Jim might require him to be prepared for more of these "surprises." 0
