"Um..."
I hesitated for a moment, glancing at him cautiously.
"If I asked you to pretend not to know something for a while, would you be upset?"
Lin Mingyuan looked at me and suddenly smiled.
"Is it because of Tong Ming?"
"Yes."
I nodded honestly.
Lin Mingyuan sighed as he looked at me.
"Qianqian, I've told you before."
"No matter what you do, I will support you."
"As for these losses..."
He smiled again, looking at me.
"You haven't made any money yet, so you don't need to compensate."
I couldn't help but laugh, feeling a wave of emotion in my heart.
When I was a child, every time I got into trouble, it was Lin Mingyuan who always had my back.
All these years later, he was still the same.
He would always be my pillar of support.
I took the documents and left the office, heading straight for the assistant's side.
"Let's go to the warehouse."
"Huh?"
The assistant looked confused.
"What are we going to the warehouse for?"
"To catch a thief."
"A thief? What thief?"
The assistant looked completely bewildered. I chuckled lightly, choosing not to explain.
When we arrived at the warehouse, I led the assistant around the entrance for a quick inspection. Then, I pointed to a hidden corner. "Install a camera here."
"Make sure it's discreet," I added. "I want to catch the thief."
With everything arranged, I returned to the office. All the way there, I felt that something was off. It was as if...
I instinctively furrowed my brow. Could it be that Tong Ming was up to no good again?
As soon as I stepped inside, my suspicions were confirmed. Tong Ming was sprawled out in my chair, casually rummaging through my belongings.
I frowned. "Tong Ming, who gave you permission to touch my stuff?"
Striding over, I raised my voice in reprimand. "Put that down!"
Tong Ming looked up at me, a mischievous grin spreading across his face. He pulled out twenty stacks of cash from his bag and slammed them onto the desk.
"This is your breakup fee," he declared with a smirk. "Qianqian, we’re done here."
Fury boiled within me as I glared at Tong Ming's smug expression, wishing I could slap him across the face. I picked up my phone and turned it around the office to show everyone what was happening.
"Did everyone see that? It was Tong Ming who first touched my things, and he was the one who broke up with me first."
"If any of my personal items go missing afterward, it will be Tong Ming's responsibility!"
Tong Ming's expression changed.
"Liu Qianqian, what do you mean by that?"
"What do you think I mean?" I sneered.
"I'm just afraid that certain people might do something unsavory again."
"After all, some people are quite skilled at this sort of thing."
I sneered again.
Tong Ming looked displeased.
"Liu Qianqian, watch your words!"
"What did I say wrong?" I huffed.
"Some people not only have dirty hands but also enjoy doing shady things."
"Tong Ming, did I say anything incorrect?"
Tong Ming was furious, glaring at me before turning to leave.
"Liu Qianqian, just wait!"
Wait?
I sneered.
Why would I be afraid of him?
I turned back and sat down, focusing on my own work.
As for the money on the table...
I simply took a photo and posted it on the company's forum.
"Tong Ming owes me five hundred thousand."
Now, only two hundred thousand has been given, and three hundred thousand is still owed.
"Please bear witness to this," I said.
After posting, I closed the forum and returned to work.
Once I finished a wave of tasks, I checked the time and realized it was almost time to get off work.
I opened the forum again and found that Tong Ming was indeed insinuating about me.
He portrayed me as a materialistic gold digger while casting himself as an innocent little bunny.
There were quite a few comments below.
I couldn't help but sneer at those remarks.
Just then, I suddenly saw someone post a screenshot that was identical to the list I had just printed.
The comment section exploded instantly.
"What’s going on? Wasn't it said that Liu Qianqian is materialistic? Why does Tong Ming still owe Liu Qianqian money?"
"Exactly! And it's fifty thousand at that! What could he possibly have done to owe so much?"
"Could it be that he bought Liu Qianqian?"
"Hey, you guys might not know this, but Tong Ming previously took company goods to sell and even swapped out real products. He got caught several times!"
"No way, is that true?"
The comments kept spiraling further off track, and I found it all quite entertaining.
This was exactly the outcome I wanted to achieve.
