Zhao Mingkun started the motorcycle, preparing to head to Wang Yikai's home. Just at that moment, both of us heard a horrifying scream. Upon closer inspection, the voice belonged to Wang Qianduo. Following the sound, we looked up the stairwell of the seven-story building and saw Wang Qianduo as if she were being chased by something, flailing her arms and shouting loudly. 0

I quickly got off the motorcycle and stood at a distance, looking up. It was just past one in the afternoon, and many people had just returned from lunch, all hearing the continuous cries and looking up in confusion. 0

At that moment, it seemed Wang Qianduo had gone mad. She kept banging her head against the glass in the stairwell. Before long, the glass was covered in cracks. If she continued like this, she would surely shatter that thick glass. With each forceful impact, we could see blood seeping out onto the glass, flowing down like red cracks. 0

This was utterly insane; I couldn't understand why Wang Qianduo would do something so reckless. We could see that there was no one behind her; she was not being pursued by anyone. Why was she acting this way? 0

Moreover, it had only been a few minutes since we left her house. Why was it that when we were inside, she seemed fine, but as soon as we stepped outside, she transformed into this state? 0

I noticed that Wang Qianduo was no longer wearing pajamas. In the short time since we had gone downstairs, she had changed into a fitted dress paired with stockings, just like what she wore last night at the Royal Garden Hotel. 0

But surely Wang Qianduo couldn’t have gone mad while getting dressed? 0

This thought flashed through my mind just as we were still in shock when a security guard arrived on the scene. He glanced at me and then rushed inside the building with several other guards. In this upscale area, their speed was already impressive. 0

But my eyes could not leave Wang Qianduo's actions. From a distance, I couldn’t see her expression clearly; I could only see her violently banging against the glass. The sound of her screams resembled that of a pig being slaughtered, contrasting sharply with her previous soft voice. 0

Glass shards began to fall. The pieces crashing down from the seventh floor exploded on impact with the ground, scattering fragments everywhere and causing those nearby to instinctively step back. 0

At that moment, Wang Qianduo pressed both hands against the glass and continued to slam her head against it. Large chunks of glass started to drop, accompanied by splatters of blood. 0

Suddenly, someone gasped in horror. 0

Amidst the crowd's screams, we saw a whole pane of glass fall down. 0

The shattering sound of glass echoed like firecrackers during New Year celebrations, lingering in our ears for a long time. As Wang Qianduo had been supporting herself against the glass, when it fell away, her body lurched forward uncontrollably. With no barrier to stop her head this time, she lost balance and toppled over completely. 0

At that moment, Wang Qianduo's head was thrust down, her entire body already leaning out of the window, with only one high-heeled shoe hooked on the windowsill. It was incredibly dangerous; with the slightest movement, Wang Qianduo could fall straight down onto the hard marble pavement below. 0

The onlookers all gasped in shock; this might be the most thrilling scene they had ever witnessed in their lives. 0

Yet, Wang Qianduo kept her eyes closed, struggling incessantly, looking as if she could fall at any moment. 0

Everyone held their breath, not daring to make a sound. 0

The high heel was wide open, and they could see Wang Qianduo's foot slowly slipping out of the shoe. In the next instant, her foot slid completely out, and she began to fall. 0

“Ah!” The crowd screamed; some closed their eyes, seemingly able to foresee Wang Qianduo's fate. 0

But just at that critical moment, a hand grabbed her ankle. Looking over, they saw that it was the young security guard who had arrived on the scene. His hand gripped Wang Qianduo's ankle tightly, the veins in his arm bulging. I had experienced that feeling before—trying to hold onto someone with just one arm. 0

It felt like my veins were about to burst; my arm felt so numb it seemed not to belong to me. 0

Fortunately, several other security guards rushed over and began reaching out to pull Wang Qianduo back. 0

The crowd breathed a sigh of relief; it seemed that Wang Qianduo was saved. 0

However, just as one of the security guards reached out to grab her, his shoulder accidentally brushed against a shard of glass still hanging from the window. This piece of glass was already precariously balanced in the upper frame of the window and fell like a sharp blade when nudged by the guard. 0

The shard struck the young security guard's wrist perfectly. Startled by the sudden pain from the glass, he instinctively loosened his grip. But suddenly realizing what was happening, he quickly reached for Wang Qianduo again. Yet, how could a person's speed compete with gravity? His hand grasped at empty air but caught nothing. 0

Like a bomb dropped from above, Wang Qianduo fell headfirst. In almost an instant, she crashed heavily onto the ground. 0

A loud crash echoed through the air. 0

In an instant, I felt a sharp, metallic scent of blood fill the atmosphere, followed by a warmth on my face and hands. Instinctively, I shut my eyes, and when I finally opened them again, I was stunned by the scene before me. I even forgot to wipe the substance off my face, fully aware that it was blood. 0

For a long while, the surroundings were eerily silent; no one spoke. Everyone stood frozen like statues in a park, devoid of movement or words. After what felt like an eternity, someone finally shouted out in a heavy voice, panic and urgency lacing their tone. 0

"Someone's dead! Someone's dead!" A woman with a piercing voice cried out. 0

A young girl in her twenties, witnessing the horrific sight, collapsed to the ground in terror and began to wail uncontrollably. 0

And everyone was covered in Wang Qianduo's blood. 0

Wang Qianduo's blood, Wang Qianduo's flesh, even Wang Qianduo's viscera. 0

I stared at Wang Qianduo—no, this could hardly be called Wang Qianduo anymore. How could this even be recognized as a person? It was nothing more than a pile of mangled flesh, a heap of gore. 0

Wang Qianduo lay face down on the hard marble floor. At that moment, I couldn't even locate her head. Where her head should have been was just a flattened mass of meat. Occasionally, amidst the bright red remains, I could see yellow fatty tissue and white fragments of bone. 0

Looking at Wang Qianduo's limbs, her arms were sprawled beside what used to be her head, battered and torn apart. Bones jutted out like giant steel needles from her shredded skin. One hand had even broken off and flown away to a distance. Her legs were relatively intact, standing upright in the mess of flesh, still clad in black stockings that wrapped around her legs. 0

Due to nerve reflexes, her toes were still slowly curling as if Wang Qianduo were still alive. 0

Her viscera was slowly oozing out from one side of her clothing. The intestines resembled a rapidly moving red snake, slithering across the ground. With the slickness of blood, her viscera seemed almost animated as it extended outward. 0

The rest of her viscera lay piled beside her body, reduced to mush. 0

I have seen many people fall from great heights. Some have fallen from the seventh floor and walked away unscathed. Others have fallen from the same height and broken their arms and legs. Some have even lost their lives. But no matter which outcome, they all pale in comparison to Wang Qianduo's lifeless body. 0

Due to human instinct, when falling, one instinctively extends their arms and legs to protect themselves. However, Wang Qianduo fell with her eyes closed. She had no way of estimating how far she was from the ground, and thus did not realize she needed to reach out to break her fall and cushion the impact. 0

She plummeted straight down like a bomb, crashing into the ground. 0

I could hardly find words to describe such a horrific scene. Her skull shattered upon impact, her rib bones pierced through her abdomen, and her viscera fell heavily onto the ground. All of this happened in an instant, and just like that, Wang Qianduo was dead. At least she would no longer suffer. 0

But why did Wang Qianduo do this? 0

It was bizarre—truly too bizarre. 0

“Eleven! Someone come quickly! There’s a girl whose head has smashed into her chest! It’s terrible! Hurry!” A middle-aged woman shouted with all her might, clutching a phone in her hand. 0

I was still staring at Wang Qianduo's body when Zhao Mingkun suddenly yanked me away. 0

I turned my head to see Zhao Mingkun covered in blood, with bits of flesh even on her head. I wiped my face in confusion and looked at Zhao Mingkun. 0

“Why are you just standing there? Are you trying to get yourself killed? We’re in the city center, barely half an hour from the City Bureau. After something like this happens, they will definitely send someone over. And they probably know who we are,” Zhao Mingkun said urgently as she pulled me along. “If you keep standing here, aren’t you just waiting to be caught?” 0

Zhao Mingkun's voice was loud, but it resonated clearly in my ears. Suddenly, I snapped back to reality. I hadn’t realized it before, but now I understood. With blood all over us, wherever we went would surely cause a commotion. We looked like we had just emerged from a bloodbath. 0

Starting up the motorcycle, Zhao Mingkun urged, “Get on quickly! The farther we get away, the better. We can figure out how to change our clothes later. If we wait too long, it’ll be too late. I cannot be caught before this is all over!” 0
