Wu Zui laughed heartily, even clutching his stomach in amusement.
"Let's go!" Wu Zui shouted, and in an instant, he turned the corner. Moriko pulled me along, keeping pace with him.
I noticed that Moriko was about the same age as Wu Zui and was Japanese, but I had no idea how these two had met. Moriko seemed to obey Wu Zui without question; I wondered if he had hypnotized her like he did with Guan Zengbin.
At that moment, I had no clue where Guan Zengbin and Gu Chen were, but I didn't have time to worry about them. Before long, I found myself beside a high wall. I couldn't tell what Scarface had been doing earlier, but from the hole that had been blasted open, it was clear that Scarface was quite skilled.
The hole allowed people to come and go without compromising the load-bearing wall.
As Wu Zui had anticipated, there were indeed people inside, but there weren't many guards. At this moment, Wu Zui held a gun in each hand and began firing before the guards even realized what was happening. His aim was precise; it seemed Shi Huacheng had taught him well.
The sound of alarms mixed with gunfire as Wu Zui's shots rang out. The few guards in front of us fell one by one, unable to draw their weapons in time. A few guards who managed to react saw Wu Zui, but instead of returning fire, their first instinct was to find cover.
In contrast, Wu Zui showed no intention of dodging; he stood firm with his guns drawn. Despite this, not a single bullet struck him. This was easy to explain: those peeking out to shoot didn't have time to aim properly, and within ten meters, hitting a target was already impressive.
Moriko held onto me with one hand while also wielding a gun with the other. Both of us shot accurately without attempting to take cover.
Wu Zui advanced quickly. Faced with opponents who only knew how to kill and not how to evade, the guards soon became disorganized. Moreover, flames were already erupting from the front entrance; given the severity of the situation, it was unlikely they could mount an effective resistance anytime soon.
The cells were just ahead, and many inmates had already escaped from their cells. Dressed in gray uniforms, they shouted and fought wildly; some had even knocked guards to the ground while others openly desecrated bodies. The scene was beyond control—utter chaos ensued.
No one around could pay attention to Wu Zui and Moriko anymore as they led me forward. At this point, many were blinded by rage; it didn't matter who you were—whether a murderer or a guard—you were fair game. Wu Zui was no exception; upon seeing him or Moriko, many could no longer contain their bloodlust.
Wu Zui seemed to revel in the chaos; he laughed heartily as he moved forward, shooting indiscriminately. He aimed for people's heads, forcing me to watch as one head after another exploded right before my eyes—a truly bloody massacre.
Bloodthirsty Wu Zui had gone mad.
It seemed he had no intention of stopping. Even Moriko, who usually said nothing, couldn't help but remind him: "We only have ten minutes to rescue Shi Huacheng; Yinzi can only control the system for ten minutes."
"How disappointing," Wu Zui sighed helplessly before starting to run toward the cells.
"What location?" Wu Zui asked.
"The first cell on the west side of the underground level," Moriko replied without any unnecessary words.
As we spoke, the three of us had already entered the prison. The blaring alarm sounded as if it were drilling into our ears, following us closely. The alarm lights flashed, and from the monitoring room's screen, I could see that many cell doors were closed. The inmates inside clearly heard the commotion outside and were excitedly banging on the doors.
At that moment, a figure appeared before us.
I recognized him clearly; it was Li Ai.
Li Ai saw me too. He shook his head and said, "I never expected that after such a long time, we would meet again. But this time I'm not lying to you. There's only one Personality left inside me now; I can finally control my body alone. It feels so good."
With that, Li Ai waved his hand and continued, "While I was underground, don't think I didn't know. If it weren't for another officer arriving early, the shards in your hand would have pierced my neck long ago. But now it seems you will die before me."
Wu Zui waved his hand and said, "Lead the way."
Li Ai nodded and began to walk ahead of us.
Wu Zui was also busy; anyone who dared to block our path became a ghost under Wu Zui's gun.
As Li Ai walked forward, he said, "I've been waiting for you. You know, I was about to escape already. If it weren't for you arranging for me to be smuggled to Southeast Asia and giving me a sum of money that I could never spend in my lifetime, I wouldn't have come here to stay for a few months."
"Get to the point," Wu Zui replied.
Li Ai nodded and said, "After observing for these two months, I've basically figured out how to rescue Shi Huacheng. I previously informed you through that prison guard you bribed; you should know by now. First, we need to get past the guards. Of course, everyone is at the main entrance now; the lower levels are practically deserted."
With that, Li Ai quickened his pace. "But we need to hurry. Although this place is far from the city center, there is a garrison of armed police nearby; they can reach here in just fifteen minutes. They must have already set out; that's for sure. Additionally, we need to get through two doors."
"One is an electronic door that only authorized personnel can enter," Li Ai explained. "Do you have any issues with that?"
Wu Zui shook his head and replied, "Yinzi can hack into this system in five to ten minutes and open that door."
Li Ai nodded and said, "That's good. The second barrier is an iron door that requires a key."
Wu Zui glanced at Li Ai and replied, "So you've completed the task I gave you, right? If you haven't, then you're going to die next."
Li Ai smiled and said, "Of course I've completed it. You don't have to worry about my efficiency. Through that prison guard, I've already obtained a backup key. As long as it can unlock the electronic door, I can let you meet Shi Huacheng."
With that, Li Ai patted her pocket.
"Very good," Wu Zui said, clearly satisfied.
As we spoke, we had quickly made our way to the first underground level. Unlike the level we had entered, which was lined with individual cells housing numerous inmates, this level had bare walls on either side. A few surveillance cameras mounted on the walls were flashing red lights.
It seemed that this level was specially prepared for Shi Huacheng alone.
Li Ai spoke up again, "This is all the information I could gather. I'm also curious about this criminal living underground. I've never seen a prison guard let him out for fresh air; he really is quite mysterious. If I had to stay locked up for so long without ever seeing the outside world, I think I would have gone insane by now."
I knew Shi Huacheng was a dangerous person, but I never imagined that those above would be so strict regarding him. I had heard from Captain Shao that Shi Huacheng had tried all sorts of nonsense—witchcraft, blood transfusions—to cure his daughter, not to mention hypnosis therapy.
Keeping Shi Huacheng isolated and not allowing him outside was likely due to fears that their own people might unknowingly fall under his hypnosis. I still remembered my encounter with Hypnosis Master Wei Demian at Dongxing City Mental Hospital. Wei Demian was Wu Zui's mentor and naturally had a good relationship with Shi Huacheng.
If Shi Huacheng was as formidable as Wei Demian, then dealing with him would be incredibly challenging.
And Wu Zui had orchestrated so many plans around me; perhaps one of his main objectives was to get Shi Huacheng out.
The electronic door stood before us.
This door appeared immensely heavy and was likely made of steel, designed to open upwards. It was constructed from a solid steel plate with no gaps in the middle; it was clear that trying to force it open would be nearly impossible.
Next to the electronic door was a card slot, indicating that entry required a card swipe. A red light next to the card slot signaled that access was denied.
"This door isn't opening either," Li Ai said anxiously. "We only have ten minutes; once the armed police arrive, no one here will escape."
Wu Zui stepped forward and touched the door, appearing to be lost in thought.
Just as Wu Zui was inspecting it, suddenly all the power underground went out, plunging everything into darkness. I was about to take this opportunity to leave when Jasmine tightly grasped my hand, a cold object pressing against my neck. I knew what it was—a cold dagger.
Then, just as suddenly, all the lights flickered back on.
When the lights came back up, I noticed that the red light next to the Card Slot had turned green. With a faint sound, the door in front of us began to rise gradually. Through the gap in the door, I could see that there was indeed another iron door not far away. A few people stepped forward and saw that this iron door had no ventilation openings; it was impossible to see what was inside from the outside.
Wu Zui approached and knocked on the door, saying, "Are you in there? This is Wu Zui."
"Wu Zui?" came a hoarse voice. "You finally arrived."
Wu Zui waved his hand, and Li Ai stepped forward, handing a key to Wu Zui.
Wu Zui unlocked the door and pushed it open.
At last, I saw the person I had long wanted to meet, but he appeared somewhat disheveled.
Shi Huacheng clearly recognized me; he paused for a moment before bursting into laughter.
"So you two finally met?" Shi Huacheng said. "Interesting, very interesting."
