Shuyao wondered if all unfaithful men had two hearts. One was real, and the other was fake.
Rumors in the entertainment industry suggested that Wen Yuxi was Ji Linchuan's beloved, his white moonlight. Ji Linchuan picked up the phone.
“Secretary Liu, call an ambulance! Hurry!”
If it took any longer, he feared he might lose control himself.
He strode into Shuyao's room and flung the door open, coldly demanding, “What kind of game are you playing?”
Shuyao looked at him, a bit taken aback.
She intended to explain everything but didn’t know where to start; her voice trembled as she stammered, “I... I didn’t...”
“If you're feeling unsatisfied, you can talk to me. Who taught you to use such methods?”
Shuyao's mind was reeling. How could she...?
The man pressed closer.
“Tell me, do you have another man outside?”
“No, no!” Shuyao retreated in fear from his fury.
“Yesterday’s trending news: top star Male Star swoops in to save the beauty, and the object of his affection is Best Actress's stand-in. Do you think I don’t know?”
He shoved the news article from his phone in front of her eyes.
“There’s nothing going on; I don’t even know him.” She opened her mouth to explain but was interrupted by him.
“The more you deny it, the less I’ll let you go!” he said in exasperation.
“The three-year contract has expired, and besides, Miss Yurou has returned; you two can…”
Fly together as a pair.
She looked at him; the words were on the tip of her tongue but suddenly lost their strength.
Weren't you the one who preferred Miss Yurou?
Forget it, I'm leaving anyway.
She was just a substitute.
Thinking about the contract termination, Shuyao felt an inexplicable sadness in her heart.
"Don't worry, I will keep my promise and leave properly."
Ji Linchuan's expression shifted unpredictably.
Suddenly, his large hand gripped her wrist, twisting it behind her back and pressing her against the vanity by the window.
"What's wrong? Is it so hard to be near me?"
Shuyao tried to break free, but his strength was overwhelming.
He lifted her hand and pressed it against the wall above her head.
By the time Shuyao realized the danger, her body had already gone numb. Before she could speak, the man leaned down and kissed her neck, murmuring, "What if I say you can't leave until I've had enough of you?"
Before Shuyao could react, his other hand had already lifted her nightgown, boldly exploring her body.
"Ji Linchuan, you bastard!" No matter how she struggled, she couldn't escape his hold.
"How dare you treat me like this? You've already terminated our contract!"
The man didn't stop; instead, he breathed hotly into her ear.
The dim light filled the bedroom with an ambiguous atmosphere.
"Relax..." His magnetic voice was laced with temptation and heat, causing her body to soften instantly.
No amount of pleading would help.
She cried out, even though it was he who wanted nothing more to do with her.
How could he be so domineering? She was not his toy!
The man's ruthless and aggressive actions overwhelmed her; the lingering anger within him nearly crushed her spirit.
The bedroom remained dark, her flushed face hidden in the shadows as he leaned down to kiss the corner of her eye before lifting her horizontally and carrying her to the bed.
As soon as Shuyao touched the bed, she suddenly snapped back to reality and tried to roll away. The man caught her delicate ankle effortlessly and pulled her back down beneath him: "Do I have to keep you here for a whole day and night before you'll behave?"
Shuyao's face turned red with indignation as she pleaded, "Ji Linchuan, please don't do this."
Ji Linchuan ignored her curses and brushed aside the hair that clung to her tear-streaked face: "Be good and stop making me angry; otherwise, you'll end up like just now—crying until you're hoarse won't help."
Shuyao raised her hand and struck him. "It's clearly you who doesn't keep your word."
Ji Linchuan grasped her restless little hand. "I always keep my promises."
"But you promised me that once the three years were up, I could leave..."
"Well, it's not time yet."
"Then you..."
Why was he breaking the contract early? Never mind, what right did she have to negotiate terms?
Shuyao's large, wet eyes became even more blurred.
"Still crying?"
Ji Linchuan's fingertips brushed against the reddened corner of her eyes, the tears sticking to his skin, slightly sticky.
Shuyao turned her face away, her voice muffled. "I don't want to continue like this with you."
Ji Linchuan turned her face back, forcing her to look at him. "How many men do you want?"
She had never realized before how shameless he could be. The man then laughed and said, "You bought the Aphrodisiac because you think I'm inadequate? You want me to satisfy you day and night?"
"Ji Linchuan, shut up! Don't talk nonsense!"
Shuyao was clearly furious, but at that moment, she felt completely drained of strength. The words she spoke were soft and lacked any impact.
After three attempts, Ji Linchuan leisurely stood up, unfazed as he wrapped a towel around his well-defined body.
Shuyao had completely lost her strength and collapsed onto the bed. Her damp eyelashes had yet to dry, making her look utterly pitiful.
Ji Linchuan couldn't help but wipe away the tears at the corners of her eyes. He placed a gentle kiss on her forehead.
But at that moment, she was resolute; she wanted a divorce.
