Rao Jie had indeed helped someone cheat during an elective exam. The person she assisted was Jiang Chuchu. Jiang Chuchu had fallen ill with a fever but needed a scholarship, so she begged Rao Jie for help. Rao Jie let her copy her answers, but the teacher caught them.
However, since both were usually top students and it was just a low-stakes elective course, although it was recorded and their scores were nullified, they both passed the retake with full marks later on, so the incident didn’t cause much of a stir. It was unexpected that this time it would be exposed.
Wu Rong was furious after hearing this. Even though Jiang Chuchu had moved on, she still dragged Rao Jie down with her! “Is she an idiot? How could she agree to help with something like that?” Wu Rong fumed.
Wu Xin replied helplessly, “Bro, you… have low emotional intelligence. Your friends are all capable and independent; they probably wouldn’t even consider cheating if they failed. But normal people around them can refuse such requests. Although Rao Jie is quite principled, she couldn’t resist her good friend’s plea at that moment! You just got it wrong; it wasn’t Rao Jie getting caught that caused Jiang Chuchu to lose her scholarship—it was Jiang Chuchu not being prepared and using her illness as an excuse to cheat that led to her losing it! Get your priorities straight!”
Wu Xin was left speechless; indeed, her brother was increasingly siding with Rao Jie.
“Anyway, that’s how things are. Jie Jie must be incredibly upset; she sacrificed her future for that worthless person. But there’s nothing more to be done now—she should focus on preparing for the graduate entrance exam. With her current abilities, taking an exam should be a breeze.”
Although Wu Xin said this, deep down she knew that anyone facing such a situation would struggle to remain calm; it would be infuriating!
Suddenly, Wu Rong asked in confusion, “Why does she have to take the graduate entrance exam? If this situation has caused her so much pain, wouldn’t it be better to just abandon it and do something that makes her happy instead?”
