"You called me and then asked who I am. Are you stupid?" I retorted without holding back, irritated by such foolishness.
To my surprise, the voice on the other end became even sharper. "Your phone? Isn't this A-Shang's number?"

Rice said this and actually put down his beloved Bald Qiang to fetch me some hot water!

Soon, he returned with a basin of hot water. I suddenly felt a bit awkward; after all, I had never been cared for so tenderly in my life.
"Rice, maybe I should wash them myself. My feet are too smelly; I don't want to offend you," I said, pulling my feet under me.

With Rice's insistence, I eventually placed my feet into the basin. To be honest, after a day of cleaning the house and exercising, my feet were sweaty and really stinky.
However, Rice washed them very earnestly. His little hands gently stroked the tops of my feet, the soles, and even between my toes, making sure they were thoroughly clean.
"Mommy, I put some protective herbs in the water; you won't have Stinky Feet anymore."
"What do protective herbs have to do with Stinky Feet?"
"Actually, the Stinky Feet is because there are many Bacteria Demons stuck to your feet. No one had ever been willing to touch my feet so intimately except for myself. Seeing Rice's innocent and pure smile felt like a warm blanket wrapped around my heart, making me feel cozy.
"Mommy, don't worry. Daddy came to the human world specifically to find you; he won't abandon you," Rice said as he dried my feet and gently patted them.
"He came to the human world for me?"
"Of course! Otherwise, with Daddy's status, he wouldn't casually come to the human world!" Rice said proudly.
"Rice, tell me honestly today, what exactly is your father's status? Why does he want to find me?"
"My dad is famous..."
"Ah—" Just as Rice began to speak, a piercing scream echoed from outside the door.
I quickly put on my shoes and rushed to the door. Just as I was about to open it, two Lizard Spirits hurried in. "Queen, you mustn't go out!"
"What happened?" Seeing their faces turn green, I suddenly felt something was off.
Rice also looked surprised. "Something actually broke through the barrier set by Daddy! Mommy, this is a bit dangerous; you should stay with Grandpa and Grandma and not come out!"
I was about to say something when I heard a strong voice behind me: "What kind of elder hides behind their juniors enjoying comfort?"
Wait, when did Mom become so righteous? At that moment, she was holding a small box in her arms and looking at us seriously. Dad had a Peach Wood Sword strapped to his back and was carrying a bag of Black Beans in his hand!
"Wheat, Rice, you both stay at home and don't move." Mom opened the box and pulled out a bunch of bottles and jars, stuffing her pockets full before handing some to Dad. "Honey, let's go! The great mission of protecting the family is up to us!"
I felt a bit dizzy. "Dad, Mom, what's wrong with you?" I wondered if they had taken something strange.
"Wheat, I'll explain some things to you later," my mom said, and without another word, she dragged my dad out.
"Hey, don't be impulsive!" my dad called from behind.
But it was useless; he was quickly pulled out by my fierce mother.
Then I heard a piercing laugh: "Hahaha! A-Shang must be blind to marry such an old woman!"
I should have been worried about my mom, but when I heard that voice, I couldn't help but laugh. What kind of eyes would think of my mom as an old lady?
However, my mom was focused on being called an old woman. Furious, she shouted, "What Kind of Monster, show your true form!"
I have to say, she had learned her movie lines quite well.
"I won't show myself; what are you going to do about it?" the other person retorted arrogantly.
I thought my mom would be furious and start jumping around, but instead, she burst into laughter: "Hahaha! You fool! Calling yourself 'sister'? That means you're even older than me!"
The other person was clearly stunned, and so was I.
Just moments ago, it seemed like a big showdown was about to begin, and now the atmosphere had completely changed.
Finally, the woman got angry: "Shut up! I'm here to challenge you! How dare you steal my A-Shang? I'll take your life!"
Hearing that a good show was about to start, I quickly turned on the CCTV to watch the scene outside and dragged Rice along to sit down and enjoy the spectacle.
In the television, a woman dressed entirely in red stood in our yard. Don't ask me why we even have a yard; having money allows for such whims.
The woman resembled the Red-Clad Senior Sister from Soul Ferry, but she was clearly much uglier than that senior. The main issue was her height—she barely reached five feet.
As she lunged toward us, my dad heroically stepped in front of my mom, saying word by word, "My wife has only loved this one man her entire life. Do not maliciously harm her! If you seek revenge, do it on the right person!"
The woman in red paused, her expression suddenly turning sinister. She lifted her head to look at the surveillance camera, and her blood-red eyes locked onto mine. Large patches of dark purple bruises began to appear on her face—these were postmortem stains!
"She's a ghost!" I exclaimed.
Rice calmly replied, "Of course, if she's chasing Dad, she can't be human."
Alright, maybe I was overreacting.
Suddenly, Rice jumped up and said, "Not good! She has discovered us!"
Two Lizard Spirits immediately lined up in front of me, flexing their muscles. "Queen, Young Master, after consuming that egg, our spiritual power has greatly increased. Let us protect you this time!"
"No need for that. If she’s here for me, then I’ll go meet her!" Ignoring Rice's protests, I turned and walked toward the door. Just as I reached for the handle, there was a loud crash.
The door was spectacularly smashed into two pieces right in front of me. The short ghost in red stood up awkwardly and glared at me with fury in her eyes. "You little wretch! I've finally found you!"
