In the darkness, I could hear my heavy breathing. I was a bit anxious, and the blanket was not covering me properly, leaving my feet exposed to the cold air that chilled me to the core. 0

I had no idea where Su Anrong had gone or how long I needed to maintain this state. All I could do was grit my teeth and hold on, relying on my trust in him. 0

That Ghost Servant didn't seem very powerful before; why was Su Anrong so tense this time? Why was it such a coincidence that someone lay on the tracks today? And why did that woman who lay on the tracks have the face of a Ghost Servant? 0

There were too many unanswered questions. 0

Suddenly, I felt something rustling from the upper bunk; it seemed like the older sister from above had come down. 0

I sensed my bed sagging slightly as she sat down on it. 0

"Hey, girl, what did you mean by what you just said?" She poked me with her finger. 0

I gritted my teeth and played dead, ignoring her. 0

After a moment, she poked me again, this time more forcefully. "Girl, you were talking so mysteriously; it seems like there's some inside story. You can't be so inconsiderate. Just tell me!" 0

What could I possibly tell you? Since you heard our conversation, don't you know there was a line emphasizing "don't make a sound"? 0

I continued to play dead. 0

It seemed she gave up and stood up, pacing back and forth in the hallway as if she were going to Fang Xiaonan's side. But she quickly returned and sat back down on my bed. 0

Suddenly, I felt a chubby hand reach into my blanket. Before I could think about what she was doing, she pinched my belly hard. 0

"Ah, what the hell!" I cried out in pain, sitting up abruptly. "Are you out of your mind?" 0

The older sister didn't seem to think she had done anything wrong; her voice sounded curious and a bit excited. "You could have just woken up earlier; why did I have to resort to such measures? Hey, girl, what did you mean by what you said earlier?" 0

Her reminder made me realize that I hadn't listened to Su Anrong's words. I had gotten up, spoken, and opened my eyes—everything I wasn't supposed to do, I had done. 0

"If you're so curious, why don't you just do as we said instead of dragging me into this? What’s the point of waking me up?" I was furious. Su Anrong was nowhere to be found on the opposite bunk; this damned older sister had ruined everything for me. 0

Probably disturbed by our noise, two children—a boy and a girl—were playing in the hallway, laughing and clapping their hands. "You clap one, I clap one; one little child sits in an airplane. You clap two, I clap two; two little children toss a handkerchief. You clap three, I clap three; three little children come to move bricks." 0

"Shut up, you brat. Can't the parents do something about this?" the older sister complained as she stood up and walked into the hallway, hands on her hips. "Whose kid is this? It's late at night, can't anyone get a good night's sleep?" 0

Suddenly, the carriage fell silent; no one responded to her. Even the two children stopped their clapping game. 0

The older sister smugly returned to my bed. "People these days just don't listen to reason; they have to be scolded. Hey, girl." 0

If killing weren't illegal, I would really want to take care of this woman right now. 0

"Hey, Fat Aunt, you're so fierce," one of the children said, having approached my bed without me noticing. The little girl looked at the older sister, her white teeth gleaming in the darkness. 0

Upon hearing this, the older sister was furious. "What kind of eyes do you have, kid? Do I look like a grandma? Am I that old? Your mom would probably call me 'sister' if she saw me!" 0

The older sister looked to be in her thirties; the little girl's mother was probably just in her thirties too. Who could say who should call whom 'sister'? 0

"Fat sister, being fierce isn't good; it will make you old," the little boy made a face at the older sister. 0

The little girl tugged at her hand and said, "Fat sister, since you're not sleeping, why don't you come play games with us?" 0

"Go away! I'm not interested in playing with you little brats at this hour. Kids can get old too!" 0

"Brother, since Fat Sister doesn't want to play with us, let's play by ourselves," the little girl said to the little boy as they exchanged glances and nodded. 0

Before I could react, they both sat down on either side of the older sister. 0

"Hey, hey, hey! What are you doing?" 0

"You clap one, I clap one, one little kid flies a plane," the older sister's words were interrupted by a nursery rhyme as the two children began singing and clapping their hands—not against each other's palms but against the older sister's head. 0

"Ah!" she screamed as if trying to stand up, but despite her efforts, she couldn't get up at all. 0

The two children giggled and clapped even more enthusiastically. "You clap two, I clap two, two little kids toss a handkerchief. You clap three, I clap three, three little kids move bricks." 0

I sensed something was off and peeked through my fingers. It was a mistake to look; the sight nearly made me wet myself. 0

The moonlight was faint, revealing that my sister's head was a bloody mess. Her mouth moved as if she wanted to say something, but no words came out. 0

The children continued their chant: "You clap eight, I clap eight, eight kids eat watermelon. You clap nine, I clap nine, nine kids march in step." 0

Suddenly, they all turned to me, their dark eyes fixated on me, white teeth bared. "Sister, do you want to play with us?" 0

I quickly shut my eyes, pretending I saw nothing and heard nothing, refusing to respond. 0

But things didn't go as I hoped. I felt a child climbing onto my bed. She straddled me and curiously asked, "Sister, why do you like pretending to sleep?" 0

I couldn't hear anything; I couldn't hear anything at all. 0

Trembling in fear, I hid under the covers, too scared to move. Just then, a knocking sound echoed again, piercing through the silence of the carriage. 0

I shuddered and almost sat up again, but with a child on top of me—oh no, was I caught between a rock and a hard place? 0

Where had Garlic gone? 0

The knocking grew louder from beneath my bed. This time I was sure it wasn't from next door; it was coming from under the bed. Every cell in my body was on high alert; my bladder felt like it was about to burst. Everything was ready; all I needed was a toilet. 0

"Since this sister doesn't want to play, let's find someone else," said the boy's voice. The child on me shifted as if agreeing with him and climbed off. Then there was silence on my end. 0

But soon after, I heard Gao Lele's voice from next door: "Wow, what cute kids! Why aren't you sleeping at night?" 0

"Lele," hadn't she been told not to get up or speak or open her eyes? Why wasn't she listening? 0

Fear evaporated as I jumped out of bed. But as I sat up, I saw that sister still sitting by my bedside. She reflexively turned to look at me, her bloodied face twisting into a strange smile. "Girl, what do you mean by that?" 0

"Ah!" I screamed as I jumped off the bed. "Lele, don't pay attention to them! They're ghosts!" But something slippery and sticky was underfoot. 0

I turned on the flashlight on my phone and slowly shone it in the direction of the sound. 0

A bloody piece of skin suddenly appeared before me—it looked like it had fallen from my sister's face. 0

Panicking, I ran towards Gao Lele and Fang Xiaonan but found them lying still in bed, not moving at all. So who had just spoken? 0

I felt frozen in place, unable to move. From the very beginning, I had been wrong; I should have stayed down even if that sister had stabbed me. But now it was too late. 0

"Hee hee hee, sister, do you want to play games with us?" Two chilling voices came from behind me. I dared not look back; the path was narrow, and they blocked my way with nowhere left to run. 0

"Since you’re not saying anything, we’ll take it as a yes," the little girl said. I felt as if someone had climbed onto the middle bunk on both sides of me. They looked at me, one on the left and one on the right, extending their hands. 0

"Brother, let’s get started." 0
