I began to feel a heat rising within me, as if a fire were burning fiercely in my heart, and there was an inexplicable flutter in my lower abdomen.
Beside me, Su Anrong was also breathing heavily.
My face flushed, and I had no idea what to do.
Damn it, this group of little bastards! Not only did they give us aphrodisiacs, but now they had us stuck to the bed. What were they trying to accomplish? My inner desires were ablaze, yet my body felt completely immobilized. This torment was indescribable; I craved something while feeling a deep sense of shame.
“Wife, let’s take off our clothes,” Su Anrong suddenly sat up beside me, his voice low and hoarse.
Startled by his sudden appearance, I exclaimed, “How did you sit up? Aren’t you stuck?”
“I’m wearing a shirt. Just unbutton it,” he replied, swallowing hard. “Wife, I’m so hot.”
I followed his gaze down to his neck; his fair skin was tinged with a faint blush, and a seductive flush spread across his chest. Seeing this made my head buzz, and I lost all rational thought, my mind consumed by three words: “I want it, I want it, I want it.”
Su Anrong seemed to have slightly better self-control than I did. While he still had a shred of clarity left, he got out of bed and grabbed a pair of scissors. With a couple of quick snips, he cut open my shirt.
A cool breeze washed over my chest, providing some relief from the heat. But that wasn’t nearly enough; it was as if I had spotted something delicious and couldn’t wait any longer. Before Su Anrong could react, I lunged at him and pushed him down. He seemed worried we might get stuck again and quickly wrapped his arms around me, rolling us both off the bed.
In an instant, my back hit the cold floor, but Su Anrong immediately supported me with his hand to minimize contact with the ground. I greedily inhaled his scent. I had never experienced a body fragrance that smelled so good—so good that I wanted to bite him.
I had always been someone who acted on impulse. With that thought in mind, I went for it; the most tempting thing was his luscious lips that resembled ripe peaches. Unable to contain myself any longer, I pounced on him and opened my mouth to bite down.
But he surprisingly dodged away just in time.
It infuriated me.
My body was burning hot; his body was also burning hot. Yet when we pressed against each other, it felt like we weren’t hot at all. So I wanted to press even closer.
At that moment, I didn't want to say a word, but he had other ideas.
"Wheat, this is not the time for your fantasies."
"Who wants to fantasize with you? I just want you right now, to devour you." I opened my mouth again, this time biting his nose.
Su Anrong suddenly reached out to cover my mouth. "Wheat, we've both taken aphrodisiacs. Do you even know what you're doing?"
"Why are you talking so much? It's just a wedding night. Hurry up and give it to me!"
These were all things Su Anrong told me later, and I wanted nothing more than to find a hole to hide in.
So you see, you weren't wrong at all. Even though we both took the drug, it was ultimately me who pounced on Su Anrong.
By the time the effects wore off, it was nearly the next morning. I sat on Su Anrong, drenched and apologetic; there was glue on the bed, so I could only stay here.
He wrapped my body in a thin blanket, looking gentlemanly, but his hands were roaming beneath it.
I squirmed a bit and shot him a glare. "You make it sound like you’re reluctant. I tackled you; with your skills, didn’t you know to run away?"
"On a wedding night, how can the groom run away?" Su Anrong said as his large hand wandered downwards while the other held me tightly, almost embedding me into his body. I could even feel something unusual beneath me.
He leaned down and whispered ambiguously in my ear, "Wife, are you feeling clear-headed now?"
"Hey, what are you talking about? I'm not drunk, I'm not drunk," I pretended to be clueless.
He chuckled and pinched the soft flesh at my waist. "You little rascal, keep pretending." After pinching my waist, he moved on to my thighs, causing me to shiver all over, the sensation traveling from my thighs straight to my heart.
I screamed and tried to run away, but he held me tightly in his embrace. Before I could react, he bit down on my lips and mumbled, "How did you bite me yesterday? Today, I'll let you reminisce properly."
"Ah, no! You rogue!"
"No way, my dear wife. A husband who plays rogue isn't a bad rogue," he declared solemnly before swiftly stripping me bare.
After battling for three hundred rounds in this intense struggle, I was completely exhausted, lying in his arms as he kneaded and squeezed me. His reputation as a night owl was no exaggeration; from last night until this morning, he still showed no signs of fatigue.
It wasn't until the morning sunlight streamed through the curtains that I slowly regained my senses.
Suddenly remembering what he had said yesterday, I grabbed his arm and asked, "Do you remember what you said yesterday?"
He seized my hand firmly. "I must remember. From today onward, your words are the law; there's only right and no wrong."
"Cut it out! What I meant was the promise you made to explain everything to me. I remember that clearly; don't think you can weasel out of it."
"Wife, is my image in your heart really that poor? Am I the kind of person who would weasel out of things?"
"You always have been," I replied without mercy.
He pouted in grievance and sighed, "Sigh, it seems I really need to improve my image. So, what do you want to know? Ask away, and this time, I promise to tell you everything without holding back. If you have any doubts about my answers, feel free to raise them, and I will keep answering until you are satisfied."
"I don't care about being satisfied or not, as long as you're not making things up. I want to know the truth."
"Of course, I only speak the truth."
His skin was indeed thicker than a city wall. I couldn't be bothered to argue with him and directly asked, "Alright then, tell me the most important thing first: what happened in my past life?"
"Wheat, are you sure you want to ask that question first? If I reveal the truth, you might not be able to handle it." He looked at me with sympathy but showed no signs of guilt.
"Just say it. I'm not that fragile; even if you tell me I was a pig in my past life, I can handle it." But surely he and Lin Xiuyu wouldn't both fall for a pig; if that were the case, that pig must have been quite valuable.
His expression turned serious, as if he were about to announce some bad news. He said with difficulty, "You don't know this, but actually, your past life was even worse than that of a pig."
"What? Are you insulting me?" I grabbed a pillow and threw it at him.
He quickly caught it and said pitifully, "We agreed not to get angry! I haven't even started yet and you're already upset. Actually, it's just that in some aspects you were worse than a pig; in other aspects, you were countless times better."
"Enough with the pig references; just get to the point." He was really dragging this out. I felt a bit anxious; if I was worse than a pig, could it be that I was a caterpillar?
Even though I kept telling myself that my past life had nothing to do with me, after all, it was still my past life. How could I completely ignore it?
"Wife, do you know why I've pursued you for over a thousand years until now? Actually, I've only been chasing you for a few hundred years because for the first few hundred years, you were always with me."
As he spoke, a sense of foreboding washed over me. Could it really be true, as Lin Xiuyu said, that I am Lin Xiuyu's fiancée?
Was it possible that Lin Xiuyu mentioned I later married someone, and that someone was Su Anrong?
I suddenly felt a pang of fear at the thought of hearing such an answer. If it came from Lin Xiuyu, I could pretend not to know, could convince myself he was lying. But if it came from Su Anrong...
What would I do then?
"Wait, wait, Su Anrong, please don't give me that answer just yet." I was genuinely scared and needed a moment to gather myself. "Let's talk about something else first. Do you know that Lin Xiuyu was wrongfully accused of treason?"
Su Anrong's expression shifted slightly, and he looked at me with an unnatural gaze. "He told you he was wrongfully accused?"
My heart tightened. "Yes, he said his mother believed the slanders and turned against him, which led to him being killed by his own subordinates on the Yellow River, his body sinking to the riverbed, never to see the light of day again." As I spoke, I carefully watched Su Anrong's expression.
