"Lin Weixuan, what are you doing!"
Li Tong's face flushed as she wiped the food splattered on her neck with a tissue, glaring at me.
"Doing what? You tell me, today is May 20th, and you're out here on a date with this man. What does that mean?" My voice rose several decibels.
"Or are you saying you two have been involved for a while, sneaking around behind my back?"
People around us began to murmur.
"Just look at how this woman is acting; she's clearly not a decent person. Turns out she's cheating, how shameless."
"This woman is so brazen about her affair; it's truly rare!"
Some started pulling out their phones to record.
Li Tong was both embarrassed and furious.
Li Xiang squinted at me, exhaling a puff of smoke, casting a sidelong glance my way. It seemed he had no intention of responding.
I raised my phone, aiming it at the two of them.
"Come on, today I’ll lose my dignity just to show the whole internet how you two siblings are engaging in incest!" I deliberately raised my voice.
Seeing things escalate, Li Tong stood up as well.
"Lin Weixuan, today is my brother's birthday!"
I struggled to contain my anger.
"Your brother's birthday? Why didn’t you tell me earlier? I could have celebrated with you."
"No need for that; he's my brother, not yours!" Li Tong's face was cold.
"Your brother?" I scoffed, "When it comes to spending money, he's your brother; when it doesn't, suddenly he's mine."
I noticed Li Xiang wearing an expensive watch on his wrist; I had looked it up on the official website before—it cost 120,000.
My fire ignited from within.
"Come on, tell me, did he buy that 120,000 watch with my money?"
I grabbed Li Xiang's wrist, ready to take the watch off.
"A 120,000 watch, my hard-earned money, and you bought it for him without batting an eye?"
"What is your relationship with him?"
Li Xiang forcefully shook off my hand.
The crowd began to stir.
"Tsk tsk tsk, 120,000, this woman really knows how to spoil her man!"
"This husband is such a fool!"
"Lin Weixuan!" Li Tong looked around at the growing crowd and started to panic.
She glanced at Li Xiang for help.
Only then did Li Xiang slowly move.
She crushed the cigarette butt onto the table and stood up abruptly, grabbing my collar.
Her narrow eyes glared at me fiercely:
"I used your money; what are you going to do about it?"
Suddenly, I felt a sharp pain across my face.
I fell to the ground, along with my phone.
Li Xiang followed up, kicking me hard several times.
A wave of agony surged through my abdomen as I clutched my stomach and curled up on the floor.
"Lin Weixuan, don't forget, back then you were just a loser!"
"Tong Tong accepting you was your good fortune; now that you've managed to look somewhat presentable, you think you can turn the tables? You should take a good look in the mirror and see if your face matches that!"
I stumbled to get up but found myself completely drained of strength.
"Damn it!"
A roar erupted from the crowd.
Li Xiang, for some reason, fell backward and crashed into the dining table, sending plates and bowls shattering to the ground.
I looked over and saw Lei Zi, my heart sinking.
He helped me up from the floor just as I was about to say thank you.
Li Xiang swung a fist at him, and Lei Zi blocked it with a plate, cutting his hand on the broken porcelain, blood streaming down.
"Lin Weixuan, I warn you!"
Li Tong rushed over to examine his hand, her eyes filled with concern.
She was so worried over such a small cut!
I remembered how she hadn’t even come to the hospital when I had a stomach bleed from drinking too much last time!
She stood protectively in front of me and Lei Zi.
"If anything happens to my brother, I won’t forgive you!"
