As Wu Rong recalled what happened last night, a wave of anxiety washed over him, but he quickly steeled himself.
Rao Jie was taken aback by his intensity, suddenly feeling insecure and foolish for her wild thoughts. How could she have let her imagination run away with her? It was truly embarrassing.
Wu Rong continued, "Besides, you were asleep, not unconscious. If I had really done something to you, wouldn't you have felt it? Even if you didn't wake up at the time, you must have felt something when you got up in the morning. Don't you know that?"
Rao Jie blushed at his question; she... she really didn't know.
Seeing the awkward and confused expression on Rao Jie's face, Wu Rong couldn't help but feel a surge of delight. He had lived in a foreign country for so long that he didn't care much about these things, but if Rao Jie belonged entirely to him, he would feel proud and happy.
Thinking of Rao Jie's innocence made his heart leap with joy, and he found himself losing control. He knelt on one knee on the bed, taking advantage of Rao Jie’s momentary surprise to press his hands on her shoulders and push her down onto the bed.
"Ah!" Rao Jie gasped in shock.
Wu Rong's expression turned slightly pale, as if he were pretending to be displeased for Rao Jie’s benefit. He hovered above her, very close yet not touching her. His starry eyes locked onto Rao Jie's flustered gaze, making her feel as though she was surrounded by something that rendered her powerless.
He leaned in very close, as if about to kiss her.
"Professor Wu..." Rao Jie called out in panic.
"You don't believe me, do you? Then let's really do it once so you can compare feelings and see if I took advantage of you last night!"
Rao Jie’s face changed several times; she couldn't keep up with Wu Rong's train of thought. Had she somehow angered him? His current expression did indeed seem a bit irritated!
She felt foolish for digging herself into this hole!
While Rao Jie was still stunned, Wu Rong's hand slid down to rest on her waist, as if he intended to go further.
Rao Jie was instantly alarmed and quickly turned to the side to evade him. "I was wrong! I shouldn't have let my imagination run wild. Professor Wu is an upright gentleman and an excellent person; how could he possibly be interested in me? Even if I offered myself on your bed, you wouldn't want me! You don't see me as a woman at all; I know that! I was just a bit dazed from sleep and said those things. Please forgive me this once!"
Having blurted out a stream of panicked words, it was clear that she was grasping at straws.
Wu Rong naturally wouldn’t actually do anything to her; instead, he found it amusing as he pinched her chin gently, turning her to face him.
Wu Rong looked down at her with a smile and said, "Who said you could bring me to bed and I wouldn't want it?"
Rao Jie stared blankly, "Huh?"
Wu Rong's eyes were filled with amusement. "Try bringing me up there and see if I want it."
"…"
"And who said I'm a gentleman?"
"…"
Rao Jie swallowed hard.
"I'm a man, a man who has normal reactions to women."
"！！！！"
"When did I ever not see you as a woman?"
"？？？？”
"In my eyes, you're more beautiful and adorable than any woman!"
Rao Jie was left speechless, her mind completely overwhelmed.
