Li Dabiao did not think much of it; he had slept straight through to the next morning. It was only when the sun was shining brightly that he finally woke from his dreams. His bloodshot eyes regained their usual color, and he seemed to have recovered some vitality. This was enough to indicate what kind of life Li Dabiao had been living during his brief escape. 0

"Did you sleep well?" Old Shao asked, gently sipping from his teacup. 0

Li Dabiao nodded. "I slept well, very well." 0

"Then come over and recognize some faces," Old Shao said, spreading a stack of documents with photographs on the table. "Let's see who you actually hit back then." 0

Li Dabiao approached Old Shao's side and picked up the photographs one by one, leaning in closely to examine them. After going through them all, he finally zeroed in on one man. Li Dabiao held up the photo and said, "This person, it's him." 0

Old Shao and Jiang He gathered around to look at the man's information. 0

Zhang Haitao, male, thirty-five years old, a former cleaner at the Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital. He had resigned from his position a month ago. 0

"Guan Deng, we have his ID number; go check Zhang Haitao's details immediately," Old Shao instructed Guan Deng. 0

"He doesn't look like it," Yuan Jun remarked. "This guy seems quite spirited and not at all thin. It's hard to match him with the description." 0

Li Dabiao nodded in agreement. "It took me a while to confirm it was him. When I buried him, I saw his face clearly. I remember distinctly that he had a mole on his face; look at this man's mouth—he has a mole too. It's definitely him; his face is similar, just a bit chubbier in this photo." 0

Old Shao took another sip of tea and said to everyone, "It seems he lost quite a bit of weight after resigning." 0

Before Old Shao could take another sip, Guan Deng had already found detailed information about Zhang Haitao. Zhang Haitao lived at Unit 5, Blue District, Lion Road, Red Mountain District. He was married to Liao Fanmeng, and they had a seven-year-old daughter named Zhang Beibei. 0

"Let’s head out; we’re going to Blue District," Old Shao decided. 0

Yuan Jun drove everyone to Blue District to visit Zhang Haitao's home. 0

Blue District was a low-income area in Dragon City, with little security beyond the gatekeeper. Old Shao contacted the property management, who brought a spare key. However, when the staff inserted the key into the lock, they found it wouldn’t open. 0

"He must have changed the security door lock," one of the staff members said. 0

"Let’s call the fire department to break down the door," Old Shao suggested. 0

Jiang He interjected, "No need for that hassle; just get me two long pieces of wire. This type of lock isn’t complicated; it can be opened easily." 0

Sure enough, it wasn't long before Jiang He opened the outer Security Door. He glanced at the lock on the inner door and said, "This lock is a bit complicated; two iron wires definitely won't do the trick." 0

"It's not that complicated," Yuan Jun replied at that moment. 0

Yuan Jun took a few steps back and kicked the door with force. Instantly, the wooden door caved in. He kicked at the dented area a few more times, and soon enough, a hole was kicked through the wooden door. Yuan Jun reached in to test it, and with a "click," the door swung open. 0

Yuan Jun shrugged and said, "Come on in." 0

The group pushed the door open and stepped inside. The house was over ninety square meters, featuring three bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, and a bathroom, all decorated warmly. As soon as they entered, they noticed a family portrait posted by the entrance. In the photo, a family of three smiled happily; judging by the girl's appearance, it must have been taken not long ago. 0

Jiang He wandered around the living room but found no useful clues. However, when he walked into the kitchen, he was greeted by a large freezer. Judging by its length, it was nearly 1.7 meters tall and about 1 meter wide—just barely fitting through the doorway. 0

Jiang He had only seen such large freezers in supermarkets. Ordinary families rarely bought freezers; most opted for refrigerators instead. Even if someone did buy a freezer, they would never purchase one this large that took up so much space. 0

"Come take a look," Jiang He said, noticing that the indicator light at the bottom of the freezer was still on, indicating it was in use. 0

"This is one massive freezer," Yuan Jun was the first to step forward and couldn't help but be startled. 0

As several others entered, the kitchen combined with the separated dining area quickly became cramped. 0

Shao the Elder remarked, "With such a large freezer in this small dining area, something must be off. Let's open it up; if I'm right, what's inside is those Entrails." 0

Jiang He stood beside the freezer and gently pulled open its door. What should have been transparent glass had been covered from the inside with white cardboard, obscuring what was inside. But when Jiang He opened the freezer completely, what he saw was not piles of Entrails but a corpse. 0

Once Jiang He fully opened the freezer, everyone saw the body inside. 0

"What is this?" Xu Yiman exclaimed. 0

Jiang He replied, "Did you notice the family portrait hanging on the outside wall? This person is the mistress of this house—Liao Fanmeng." 0

No one expected that opening the freezer would reveal not heaps of Entrails but rather a cold body. 0

Liao Fanmeng stood about 1.6 meters tall; she fit comfortably inside this freezer. It appeared that Zhang Haitao had removed all the shelves within it, allowing her body to lie there quite loosely. Liao Fanmeng lay flat in the freezer as if she were asleep. Cold air wafted out from inside, mingled with a faint odor of decay. 0

It was the season of Late Autumn, and if it had been summer, the stench of the corpse would have already permeated the air. 0

The corpse was naked, its clothes missing. 0

Jiang He examined the body closely. On the left side of the head, there was a contusion—a blood clot that had already frozen, obscuring the extent of the wound. 0

The abdomen was cut open directly to the chest. The skin on either side was pulled apart like a zipper, revealing the entrails within. It looked as though the body had just been dissected, with various organs laid out in the cavity and connected by thin tubes. 0

"What is going on here..." Yuan Jun couldn't help but speak up upon seeing this. 0

No one replied; everyone stared at the corpse in the freezer and the entrails scattered beside it. 0

Old Shao approached quietly and said, "Perhaps we now understand what the murderer was doing. The killer took the entrails from the crematorium and placed them on his wife." 0

"There's also a refrigerator," Jiang He pointed to a regular household fridge in the kitchen. 0

He walked over and opened it, discovering that aside from some leftovers, it was filled with jars and bottles. The black bottles left Jiang He unsure of their contents. He put on gloves and twisted open one of them. A faint metallic scent of blood wafted out; he could confirm that it contained blood. 0

"Blood," Jiang He stated. 0

Xu Yiman took over, saying, "I'll take it back for testing later to see whose blood it is." 0

Shao the Elder added, "And this corpse should be examined as well. Although it's been preserved well in the freezer, it's clear she has been dead for some time." 0

"What does the murderer want?" Yuan Jun asked as he looked at the body. 0

Old Shao sat down in a chair and addressed everyone, "Seeing this corpse reminds me of someone named Yang Zhi Kui. Yang suffered from Obsessive Love Disorder, deluding himself into thinking Zhu Liang could be with him. It wasn't until Zhu Liang died that Yang finally married her as his bride." 0

"Perhaps Zhang Haitao is similar," Old Shao closed his eyes. "All of this is Zhang Haitao's one-sided fantasy; he might think that by using someone else's entrails, he can bring his wife back to life. According to records, Zhang Haitao worked as a Cleaner in a hospital for four years but suddenly quit a month ago. If I'm correct, Liao Fanmeng must have died about a month ago." 0

Xu Yiman had already put on gloves. She gently placed her hand into the freezer to press against the female corpse's head, but due to the freezing conditions, the body was almost stuck to the freezer, making it difficult for her to maneuver. 0

"Shut the freezer," Xu Yiman instructed. "Gently pour warm water inside; since the body is frozen to the freezer, we'll need to put in some effort to get it out." 0

Several people were in the kitchen boiling water, waiting to use warm water to thaw the body. 0

Jiang He was wandering around the room, observing every corner. He pushed open a bedroom door, revealing a space filled with pink decor. It was clear that this must be Zhang Beibei's house. Zhang Beibei was seven years old this year and should have already started first grade. 0

The room was small but cozy, with a large plush toy leaning against the wall, looking quite adorable. On the head of this plush toy was a hat that seemed to belong to Zhang Beibei. A desk sat under the window, and a lamp was still lit. 0

Gentle sunlight filtered through the curtains, illuminating a notebook on the table. 0

Jiang He gently picked up the notebook and saw that it was labeled—Beibei's Diary. The handwriting was crooked, indicating that it was likely written by Zhang Beibei herself. 0

A few Fruit Hard Candies were placed in a nearby jar, labeled as Mixed Fruit Hard Candy. 0

Jiang He casually picked one up. 0

He examined the candies for a moment, then unwrapped one and placed it in his mouth. 0

At the same time, he opened Zhang Beibei's diary. 0
