Wu Rong was feeling a bit uncomfortable, so he quickly brewed a pot of tea for himself to drink. Despite his discomfort, it did not dampen his good mood. Rao Jie noticed the smile on Wu Rong's face and finally felt relieved.
The two of them sat at the dining table, sipping tea and chatting. However, after just a few exchanges, Rao Jie's phone rang again. A glance at the screen revealed the annoying word "Senior."
Wu Rong's earlier good mood vanished instantly. Rao Jie sensed the pressure and took her phone to the kitchen to avoid Wu Rong, answering the call there.
"Rao Jie, it's Christmas today. Can you come out tonight? I'll take you to see the festivities," Long Yong said cheerfully.
Of course, Rao Jie wanted to go out and have fun. After thinking for a moment, she asked, "What time?"
Long Yong continued, "How about we grab dinner together? Many restaurants have special Christmas menus."
"Ah?" Rao Jie hesitated.
Long Yong added, "Junior, have you forgotten that you still owe me a meal?"
That was true, but thinking of Wu Rong waiting outside made her feel that if she left without finishing cooking for him, he might get upset again.
"Senior, I'm sorry. Let's eat together another time. I should be back around eight..."
Before Rao Jie could finish her sentence, a hand reached over from her side, grabbing her arm and pulling her around completely. The phone slipped from her grasp and flew away.
Before she could react in shock, Wu Rong had pushed her against the refrigerator.
"Wu..." The words barely left her lips when Wu Rong leaned down and silenced her with a kiss.
This time there were no excuses or reasons; Rao Jie was simply kissed. She was momentarily stunned as her mouth filled with the taste of chocolate and tea.
As she regained her senses, she immediately pressed her lips against his in resistance, but it was futile. The forceful kiss felt strangely familiar, igniting a fire within her that burned away her rationality and left her mind blank.
Until she was kissed to the point of breathlessness, Rao Jie had to pat Wu Rong's back, making muffled sounds of surrender.
At that moment, Wu Rong slightly pulled away, biting Rao Jie’s lower lip, their foreheads touching. His eyes, filled with unspoken emotions, were fixed on her, unwavering.
Both of them were breathing heavily.
The room was terrifyingly quiet.
Rao Jie thought she could hear Long Yong's voice coming from a distant phone call, but it was too far away to make out the words.
She was frightened and infuriated, wanting to push him away, but Wu Rong held her firmly, leaving her hands resting helplessly against his back.
Wu Rong released her lower lip and looked at Rao Jie, speaking slowly and deliberately, “You are not allowed to go out with him!”
“You cannot be with him.”
“I told you I hate him, so you…”
“Cannot get close to him either!”
Rao Jie trembled with anger, further provoked by what had just happened.
“Professor Wu, have you lost your mind? What are you doing? How can you treat me like this?”
Rao Jie pushed Wu Rong frantically. Sensing her emotional breakdown, he loosened his grip and stumbled back a couple of steps.
With his back against the kitchen counter, Wu Rong gasped for air. The rich aroma of chocolate lingered in the air, but the atmosphere between them could only be described as suffocating.
Wu Rong could see that Rao Jie was very angry, but he was equally furious.
