Long Yong seemed a bit excited, replying several times in a row.
"Sure, don't worry, you'll definitely be satisfied."
"So when do you plan to go look at the house? I'm free today. If everything goes well, we can check it out in the morning and if you're happy with it, you can move in by the afternoon. I'll help you as free labor!"
"Of course, there's no rush. It's all up to you."
Rao Jie hesitated for a moment but eventually replied, "Okay, I can head out soon."
"Great, I'll wait for you at the entrance of your community in half an hour," Long Yong responded.
Sitting on her bed, Rao Jie took a deep breath and quickly got up to get ready. Although she felt a bit uneasy as she opened the door, she decided to face it boldly since she had made up her mind to leave.
Once outside, Rao Jie was surprised to find Wu Rong sleeping on the sofa. Clearly, he had been there since last night. Was he waiting for her to come out? Unfortunately, Wu Rong was a heavy sleeper, especially in the mornings; he was particularly hard to wake up.
As Rao Jie approached him, she noticed he was deeply asleep. Even though the room was warm, sleeping like this could easily lead to getting sick. She decided to cover him with a blanket. Despite her efforts, Wu Rong still didn’t wake up.
Looking at Wu Rong's face, she couldn't deny that he was handsome, but why did he…? Remembering their interactions, Rao Jie was surprised to find that aside from feeling angry about being kissed forcefully by this man, she didn’t feel any disgust or revulsion towards him at all. It was just… anger… and now even that anger was fading away, replaced by a sense of reluctance at leaving.
After watching Wu Rong for a while, Rao Jie went to the kitchen to prepare breakfast. She ate one portion and left another for Wu Rong. Once she felt it was time to go, she stepped outside.
At the front of the community, Long Yong's car was already waiting for her.
Rao Jie got into the car, and as Long Yong drove, he began explaining things to her. However, he could clearly sense that Rao Jie’s mood was very low.
Unable to hold back any longer, Long Yong asked, "What happened yesterday? I thought I heard some commotion on the phone—was there an argument?"
Rao Jie’s eyes flickered for a moment before she smiled and said, "Professor Wu has that kind of temper; sometimes there are disagreements. Besides, living at their place is ultimately inconvenient for me; I guess Professor Wu isn't comfortable either. It was unavoidable before, but now…"
As she spoke, Rao Jie suddenly felt a bit dazed. Yes! She could clearly move out now! Plus, next semester she could apply for school dorms; even if working made living at school inconvenient, she could find jobs that offered accommodation—Wei Qian had helped her look into those before.
But why, after the postgraduate entrance exam, did she never have such thoughts? Was it because Wu Rong treated her with the utmost tolerance, telling her she didn’t need to move out, or was it that she had grown accustomed to this place and subconsciously didn’t want to leave the stable and comfortable environment? Rao Jie found it hard to distinguish.
"Well, it's true that I can't keep bothering others. Renting a place myself would be much more freeing," she said, coming back to her senses and nodding before falling silent as she gazed out the window.
The place Long Yong introduced was also a nice-looking community. Rao Jie thought that if it weren’t for a friend, they probably wouldn’t offer such a low rental price.
Long Yong excitedly showed Rao Jie around, introducing her to the area. To Rao Jie’s surprise, Long Yong seemed quite familiar with the place.
