In 2015, Milt Massey collaborated with biologist Peter Beech to search for Roben in Papua New Guinea. They arrived by helicopter at a location where there had been previous sightings and set up an observation post for their search. 0

On March 25 of that year, Dr. Beech was resting in a cabin due to feeling unwell when he suddenly heard the team outside shouting, "Big bird! Big bird!" 0

He quickly grabbed his camera and rushed outside. Looking up at the sky, he immediately spotted the creature almost directly above him. 0

The creature was larger than any bird he had ever seen, with leathery wings that had claws. He quickly turned on his camera, trying to focus the shot, but without a viewfinder, he could only do his best to capture it in frame. 0

This led to the first video we see above. Although they later enhanced the footage, it remained too blurry. The feature Dr. Beech described—claws on the wings—was still not clearly visible. 0

In the academic community studying "mysterious animals," opinions about what kind of creature Roben might be are sharply divided. One side is dominated by the visual error theory; some scholars believe that a large bat or a rare bird could be the most reasonable explanation for Roben. 0

At the end of the program "The Final Truth," they interviewed Andrew Engilis Jr., a bird expert from Papua New Guinea, who suggested that most witnesses likely saw what is actually Bryce's Hornbill, also known as the Blue Monkey Spell Hornbill. 0

This is the only native hornbill species in Papua New Guinea and one of the largest birds in the region. Its feathers are primarily black, with a golden-yellow head and white feathers on its neck and tail. Adult males can reach a length of 91 cm, while females are smaller. 0

When it flies, its wings produce a loud sound; however, this bird generally feeds on fruits and insects, does not scavenge, and does not attack humans. Moreover, most sightings did not mention any vocalizations from the creature. Ultimately, Dr. Engilis could not explain the glowing source they captured on film. 0

British paleontologist David Matier joined Gaisman's exploration team and concluded that the possibility of Roben being a pterosaur was extremely low—almost zero. 0

Local indigenous people might have misidentified some known bird species, and along the Brazilian coast, one of the most common is the Frigatebird. This bird has distinctly curved wings when flying, combined with its long beak, which can easily lead to misperceptions. 0

To mention Frigatebirds briefly: also known as Humanoid Birds, they possess well-developed pectoral muscles and are among the fastest flying birds known in the world. Frigatebirds have elongated bodies with long hooked beaks, and when flying, their tails and wings create a unique "W" shape silhouette. 0

All the birds under the Frigatebird family have entirely black feathers. The largest known species, the Green Frigatebird, can reach a length of up to 114 cm, but this size is still quite different from the legendary Roben. 0

Dr. Mardil has stated that throughout his scientific career, he has been studying the evolutionary process of Pterosaurs. He firmly believes that this species went extinct 65 million years ago. 0

On the other hand, Professor Jonathan Whitcomb, representing cryptozoologists, argues that not all Pterosaurs are extinct; a smaller species known as the Beak Dragon may still survive in hidden caves. 0

As Professor Gus Gaisman mentioned, people tend to use known creatures to explain unconfirmed species. 0

They question the locals' understanding, but according to his research, those indigenous peoples know what bats, insects, and fireflies are; they also understand what meteors and airplanes are. Yet, they claim that this creature resembles a Pterosaur. 0

An old maritime map from 1595 warns sailors to be cautious of sea monsters. It marks several creatures with wings and fish tails near Papua New Guinea, as well as a dragon-like being. 0

He believes there are many mysterious creatures in the world that have yet to be discovered because people have not systematically searched for them. Moreover, no one expects to find them, so they do not pay attention to reports from those who claim to have seen such beings. 0

As for the Pterosaur theory, there is no need for further elaboration here. Regarding the existence of a creature like Roben, I personally think its possibility is worth considering. 0

First and foremost is the age-old issue of visual error. As previously mentioned many times, humans often struggle to judge the size of flying creatures during sightings; I have had profound experiences regarding this myself. 0

A bird flying at low altitude can create enough illusion to misjudge its size. 0

In fact, when it comes to sightings of such "Living Dinosaurs," the most important consideration should be that despite numerous sightings, no remains have ever been found. Although many claim to have seen Roben, most descriptions focus on the light it emits at night without any visible body, which I find lacks credibility. 0

Moreover, all videos capturing these light points do not provide sufficient theoretical support for them being the size and shape of a Pterosaur; it is certainly possible that these lights are produced by an entirely different creature. 0

Several expedition teams have heard about Roben's habit of stealing corpses and have seen some disturbed graves, but is it really possible for this bird to break through a concrete tombstone? 0

Of course, these are just some personal thoughts. 0

As for the truth behind the "Living Dinosaur" Roben, we still do not know. 0

It could be a bizarre new type of bird, a lie told by Indigenous Peoples to deceive Westerners, or perhaps there really is a small Pterosaur still living in that deep Rainforest. 0
