But just now, did they call him Xiao Rong or Little Dragon? Rao Jie felt a bit confused.
"What nonsense are you talking about? Long Yong is still in graduate school; how could he suddenly go abroad? Who are you really? Are you a thief? Oh! I get it, you're a stalker, here to follow Long Yong. I've seen several of your kind before. How can you be so shameless? Long Yong has been so harassed by people like you that he doesn't even dare to stay here anymore!" The young girl scolded Rao Jie furiously.
Rao Jie was genuinely dumbfounded. What on earth was going on?
Aunt Huang immediately comforted her daughter and turned to Rao Jie, saying, "Who are you really, spouting such nonsense? We know the owner of this place. What are you doing here? Come out! I'm calling the police!"
Just as Rao Jie stood there in confusion, the elevator dinged, and Long Yong happened to return.
Upon seeing the situation at the door, Long Yong's expression changed noticeably.
"Senior!" Rao Jie exclaimed, feeling as if she had found a savior.
Aunt Huang and her daughter turned around instantly, and their smiles bloomed like flowers.
The girl rushed up excitedly, saying, "Long Yong, you're finally back! I've been waiting for you for so long! You didn't reply to my messages."
Aunt Huang added cheerfully, "Long Yong, why have you been away for so long? You helped Xiao Gui with her studies and got her into a good university. I haven't had the chance to treat you to a meal yet!"
Long Yong's face turned grim as he awkwardly replied, "No need for that, Aunt Huang. I have things to do with my friend; we'll talk later."
Xiao Gui immediately pointed at Rao Jie suspiciously and said, "Is this your friend? You've never brought a girl home before!"
Aunt Huang looked back and forth awkwardly.
Long Yong was truly at a loss now; he glanced at Rao Jie with a conflicted expression.
Rao Jie began to understand the situation. Leaning against the doorframe with some exasperation, she noticed how entangled Aunt Huang and her daughter were and decided to help Long Yong out.
"Senior, come in quickly; we're running out of time!"
Long Yong stammered an agreement, politely avoiding Aunt Huang and Xiao Gui as he hurried back into the room. Without waiting for the mother-daughter duo to follow him in, he bid them farewell and closed the door.
Once inside his apartment, Long Yong's face turned red; he didn't dare look up at Rao Jie.
Rao Jie felt a bit awkward too. She hadn't expected this was actually Long Yong's place. Perhaps he was afraid that his kindness would put too much pressure on her, so he deliberately created this scene. However, she hadn't anticipated being exposed by the neighbors across the hall.
Rao Jie was grateful for everything Long Yong had done for her, but it indeed felt overwhelming.
She had been hesitating about her relationship with Long Yong; now that Wu Rong had stirred things up, her mind was even more chaotic. All she wanted was to calm down and sort things out again. But with Long Yong acting this way, she felt an immense gratitude that made it even harder to find peace.
"Senior, thank you. I appreciate your kindness, but I really can't accept it like this. If I do accept it, I wouldn't know how to handle our relationship. I hope you can understand."
Long Yong knew that this was inappropriate and detrimental to the healthy development of their relationship, but he was unwilling to watch Rao Jie continue to stay over at Wu Rong's place.
"I'm sorry, I lied to you, but I... I actually don't live here. You know I stay in the school dormitory. This place is usually empty; I only come here occasionally when it's inconvenient to be out. I can rent it to you as if it were a normal house."
