Because she had witnessed it firsthand and was deeply impressed, Rao Jie decided to follow suit.
After the two of them stepped out, the door across from them opened almost as if by coincidence. Xiao Gui rushed out from inside, while Aunt Huang stood at the door, smiling awkwardly.
However, when Xiao Gui burst out, he was taken aback to see Rao Jie linking arms with Long Yong as if they were a couple.
"You... you two..." he stammered.
Rao Jie calmly smiled and said, "Sorry, I wasn't sure about your identities just now, so I was joking around. Please don't mind."
Aunt Huang immediately stepped forward and asked, "Xiao Long, are you... leaving? Is this... could she be your girlfriend?"
Long Yong nodded and replied, "Yes, she is my girlfriend." As he spoke, he tightened his grip on Rao Jie’s arm, pulling them closer together.
Hearing this made Rao Jie’s heart flutter slightly. It felt surprisingly nice.
"How is that possible... she just called you 'senior'!" Xiao Gui exclaimed in disbelief.
Rao Jie quickly responded, "I am indeed his junior; I’ve gotten used to calling him that. Let’s just consider it a nickname. Sorry, but we have things to attend to, so we’ll be leaving now."
After saying this, Rao Jie took Long Yong's hand and led him away. While waiting for the elevator, she deliberately said, "Senior, if it's just the two of us living here, it feels a bit cramped. We should go back and discuss with my parents about finding a bigger place!"
Long Yong leaned slightly closer, almost touching heads with Rao Jie as he spoke in an intimate tone, "Alright, I’ll mention it during dinner with my parents today."
With that, they left behind two stunned individuals and entered the elevator.
Once the doors closed, Rao Jie couldn't help but burst into laughter. It was probably her first time engaging in such a mischievous act, and she felt a thrill of excitement.
Long Yong chuckled along with her. When Rao Jie finally realized she was still holding onto Long Yong's arm, she quickly withdrew her hand.
Long Yong smiled and asked, "Should I take you home? Or do you want to look for a place nearby? You could stay here for two months; after that, you can apply for the school dormitory for your final semester. Honestly, even if you stayed as a regular friend for those two months, it wouldn't be a problem at all. There’s really no need..."
Rao Jie shook her head firmly. She didn’t want to owe Long Yong too much. "It's fine; I was just thinking that I can ask my friend to help me find a part-time job instead. That way I can earn some money and have a place to stay—it suits me well."
Rao Jie just thought of something. If she didn't have a valid excuse to leave, it would be hard to explain to Wu Xin. She didn't want her good friend to know what had happened between her and Wu Xin's brother.
They had been living together just fine, and suddenly wanting to leave required a reason. Otherwise, knowing Wu Xin's personality, she would probably fly back to resolve the issue.
Long Yong listened to Rao Jie and realized she had made up her mind, so he didn't say anything more. "Alright, I understand. When you move, make sure to let me know."
"Of course." It was impossible for her to keep refusing him; it would hurt Long Yong. Unless it was something truly important, Rao Jie was willing to accept his kindness.
After coming to this conclusion, she contacted Wei Qian from Long Yong's car, expressing her desire to return to her previous job. Wei Qian didn't give her a direct answer but said she would ask around.
Rao Jie couldn't help but add that she hoped for a quick response.
Wei Qian was quite shrewd and had already been pulled into the situation by Wu Xin. Faced with a stranger who was a senior and the brother of her good friend, who was she supposed to help? So she quickly explained the situation to Wu Xin.
