Her once-clear eyes were now adorned with striking smoky makeup, concealing her former innocence and fragility.
The woman in the mirror was no longer the naive Xiaoxiao; she had transformed into a sharp-eyed, confident individual—Erin.
Lin Feng watched Xiaoxiao's transformation with satisfaction and handed her a phone along with a new identification card. "This is your new number and identification. I've already arranged your accommodation and job; you can report to work tomorrow."
Xiaoxiao took the phone, her fingertips lightly gliding across the screen, her gaze reflecting both unfamiliarity and anticipation.
"This tech company is a competitor of the the Ye Cheng Family. Once you join, you need to keep a low profile, learn their business model and management practices to prepare for the future," Lin Feng explained in detail about the upcoming plan.
"I understand," Xiaoxiao replied earnestly, committing every detail to memory.
"I will arrange for someone to protect you discreetly, but you also need to learn how to protect yourself." Lin Feng's tone carried a hint of concern; he knew what dangers Xiaoxiao would face, but he believed she could overcome anything.
Xiaoxiao nodded, her eyes resolute and determined. "I will."
The next morning, Xiaoxiao donned a sharp professional outfit, stood before the mirror, took a deep breath, and stepped out of her home with unwavering determination.
The taxi wove through the bustling city streets, the towering skyscrapers reflecting in her deep-set eyes. For Xiaoxiao, everything felt both familiar and strange.
The tech company was located in the heart of the city's most vibrant commercial district, its soaring buildings symbolizing the power of technology and wealth. Xiaoxiao stepped into the company lobby, gazing up at the gleaming company logo, her expression devoid of any emotion.
"Hello, I'm here to report as a new employee, Erin," Xiaoxiao said politely to the receptionist at the front desk.
"Miss Erin, welcome aboard," the receptionist replied with a professional smile, handing Xiaoxiao a name badge. "The Human Resources department is on the 52nd floor; please take the elevator directly there."
Xiaoxiao nodded and turned toward the elevator. Inside, suited professionals came and went, each wearing an expression of busyness. Xiaoxiao quietly stood in a corner, observing everything around her as she quickly acclimated to this entirely new environment.

"Miss Erin, this is your workstation. Next to you is your colleague, Sister Wang. If you have any questions, feel free to ask her," the HR manager, a middle-aged woman, warmly introduced Xiaoxiao to her new work environment.
"Okay, thank you," Xiaoxiao replied politely, her gaze sweeping over her colleagues who were all engrossed in their tasks, none noticing her arrival.
Taking a seat at her workstation, Xiaoxiao opened her computer and began familiarizing herself with her new responsibilities. The front desk duties were not complicated, but she approached them with great seriousness, leaving no detail overlooked. She understood that this was not just a job; it was the first step toward getting closer to her enemies and executing her revenge plan.
