At 37 years old, Xiao Chen fell in love with a 58-year-old fairy. Not only was she three years older than his mother, but he also learned that his ex-wife was already three months pregnant.

As soon as Xiao Qiong entered the door, she shouted for her parents. However, upon seeing her daughter-in-law, Yang Falian, who was three years older than her, she felt a surge of anger and wanted to drive her out.
Just when the mother-in-law and daughter-in-law found themselves at an impasse, Yang Falian decided to have a long talk with Xiao Qiong.
Initially, Yang Falian intended to persuade Xiao Qiong to break up with her son. However, after their conversation, her attitude took a complete 180-degree turn. Not only did Yang Falian agree to their marriage, but she also looked genuinely happy about it.
The very next day, Xiao Chen took Xiao Qiong to a photo studio in town to take their wedding photos.
When the studio owner saw the two of them, he looked puzzled and asked why they were taking red-background photos. The young man openly replied that they were preparing to apply for a marriage certificate.
How could Yang Falian agree to Xiao Qiong marrying her son?
It turned out that during their conversation, Xiao Qiong had told her future mother-in-law that she could carry on the family line for the Chen family.
Moreover, Yang Falian noticed that Xiao Qiong's sleep had increased significantly. During one meal together, Xiao Qiong even exhibited signs of nausea. As someone who had been through it before, Yang Falian believed that Xiao Qiong was already pregnant.
Xiao Chen also informed his mother that they had undergone in vitro fertilization at a hospital in Qionglai, and the procedure had been very successful.
Upon hearing this, Yang Falian was overjoyed because the family would finally have an heir. Thus, she agreed to Xiao Qiong marrying her son and treated her with utmost care during the days she stayed at their home, as if she were a precious new bride.
However, just a few days later, Xiao Chen proposed moving to the city with Xiao Qiong. Upon hearing this, Yang Falian strongly opposed it and tried to persuade them to stay. Nevertheless, the couple sneaked out when no one was home.
This left Yang Falian feeling perplexed; she began to doubt the authenticity of Xiao Qiong's pregnancy because such behavior did not seem typical for someone expecting a child. Why would they choose to live in the city when they could be cared for at home?
Furthermore, Xiao Chen refused to tell his mother their address. So, Yang Falian reached out to a neighbor and asked them to call her son: "Next year is the Mid-Autumn Festival. Your mom asked me to bring you something. Where are you? What place are you in?"
Just like that, Xiao Chen fell into the trap.
When Yang Falian and his wife arrived at the agreed-upon place, they waited for their son to appear.
Before long, Xiao Chen showed up at the designated spot. The elderly couple rushed over, questioning him about where he had been and why he had sneaked away. Were there things he was hiding from them? They then insisted that Xiao Chen take them to see where he was living.
As soon as they arrived at his rental apartment, Yang Falian noticed some baby items.
At that moment, the couple finally felt relieved; it turned out their daughter-in-law was indeed pregnant and had not deceived them. However, Xiao Qiong was not home. Xiao Chen explained that she had gone to work at the supermarket. Hearing this, Yang Falian angrily scolded his son for making his pregnant daughter-in-law work and not worrying about her risking a miscarriage.
Xiao Chen then took his parents to the supermarket, where they saw their daughter-in-law, Xiao Qiong. To their dismay, she was visibly three months pregnant and lifting heavy objects, which broke their hearts.
They insisted on taking her home, especially since Xiao Qiong was of an age where three months was a critical time for avoiding miscarriage. No matter how much her mother-in-law urged her, Xiao Qiong refused to go back home.
This unusual behavior, combined with seeing their daughter-in-law working so efficiently, made the couple suspect that she might not be genuinely pregnant after all.
To get to the bottom of things, Yang Falian wanted his daughter-in-law to go to the hospital for a check-up. However, no matter what they said, Xiao Qiong adamantly refused to go. So the elderly couple went to the hospital alone to inquire, but the results left them utterly stunned.
It turned out that there wasn't a single hospital in Qionglai that could perform in vitro fertilization. This infuriated the couple; it became clear that their son and daughter-in-law had been deceiving them all along.
But why would the young couple want to deceive their parents?
The truth was that in order to marry Xiao Chen, Xiao Qiong claimed she had undergone in vitro fertilization and was already carrying his child. She even pretended to vomit to convince her in-laws that she was truly pregnant.
During the days spent at her in-laws' home, Xiao Qiong felt immense pressure due to their exceptional care; she feared they would discover her fake pregnancy. Thus, she secretly moved out to live elsewhere.
Originally, they planned to adopt a child after some time, thinking it would allow them to keep their secret. They even prepared baby supplies.
However, before they could implement their plan, their parents discovered the truth.
Realizing their mistake, the young couple decided to apologize to their parents.
To win their parents over, Xiao Chen took Xiao Qiong to the mall to pick out some youthful clothing and even got a more youthful hairstyle.
But when they returned home empty-handed, Xiao Qiong's appearance failed to impress her mother-in-law. After Xiao Qiong sadly retreated to her room, she saw the walls adorned with baby photos and felt that her mother-in-law was deliberately trying to upset her.
In a fit of anger, Xiao Qiong hopped on her motorcycle and left this sorrowful place.
Seeing his wife leave, Xiao Chen was heartbroken. The man in his thirties cried for several days and declared that he wouldn't eat until Xiao Qiong returned.
Witnessing their son's distress, the older couple expressed their fears. They worried that when they were gone, there would be no one to care for Xiao Chen in his old age.
But Xiao Chen insisted he didn't want children; he just wanted a home with Xiao Qiong.
During a later mediation session, Xiao Chen took Xiao Qiong's hand and suddenly knelt before his parents.
Xiao Qiong also stated that while they had no children, she could take care of Xiao Chen in his old age.
