Yuan Xun, a renowned Geomancer from Huaxia, excels in feng shui investigations and physiognomy. He has applied to join the Metaphysics Society three times, but each time he was rejected. On the surface, he appears kind-hearted, yet secretly he is treacherous and ruthless. It is rumored that he can communicate with the Demon God.
There is little information available about Yuan Xun, but as a fellow practitioner, Xiao Yefeng knows that these rumors are true. Everyone who has received his guidance has become wealthy, and any feng shui arrangement he sets up leads to quick financial gain. His clients can rise to prominence overnight. However, Yuan Xun has a peculiar temperament and rarely helps others, which leaves everyone puzzled as to why he was hired by Northern Dipper Medicine.
The information Mei Chuanqiong found is still quite ordinary—accessible to anyone with connections and money. If Xiao Yefeng truly wants detailed information about Yuan Xun, he would need to contact the leaders of the industry. However, Xiao Yefeng is reluctant to engage with those people ever since he realized he was being used by them, nearly leading to his demise. He understands now that the mission he managed to escape from was merely a test.
Having survived and released himself early from that mission, Xiao Yefeng now sees these state-affiliated special forces as merciless. He is grateful for his diligence during that mission; it has become clear that everything at that time was a genuine trial. The gunshot wound on his shoulder serves as a constant reminder that matters concerning the state are not something he can involve himself in.
Now that Xiao Yefeng knows Yuan Xun's identity and Jin Ling's location, he and Zhang Chuanhai decide to abandon their plan to investigate today. Just moments ago, Mei Chuanqiong brought another piece of news: Zhu Ganglie has confirmed that the antidote is on its way and instructed Mei Family members to bring the pendant to an abandoned warehouse in the suburbs for an exchange tonight.
Although Xiao Yefeng is puzzled as to why they must meet in such a remote location, given Mei Family's situation, they cannot ask too many questions for fear of raising Zhu Ganglie's suspicions. Consequently, several groups are already heading toward the abandoned warehouse.
On Mei Family's side, Mei Chuanqiong heads to the meeting with a one-to-one replica of Dracula's Tooth while secretly followed by Mei Yulou. After all, Mei Chuanqiong alone cannot withstand an Onmyoji's attack, especially since Mei Family does not know who they are trading with.
Meanwhile, Xiao Yefeng acts as a second force arriving early at the warehouse to lay an ambush. Regardless of how the transaction unfolds, Xiao Yefeng intends to capture a woman named Li Ji. He believes that only Li Ji possesses the antidote and that she will not betray Wa Country. Everything surrounding this situation seems fabricated by Zhu Ganglie; since she is involved in delivering the antidote, Li Ji must be present at the exchange. As long as Li Ji is there, finding her will resolve everything.
On another front, Kitagawa Kai receives word from Zhu Ganglie about arranging a meeting with Mei Family's Mei Chuanqiong in the suburbs at midnight. However, what actually reaches Mei Family members indicates it will occur at one in the morning—Zhu Ganglie has deliberately created an hour-long gap for his own schemes against Kitagawa Kai.
At this moment, Kitagawa Kai remains oblivious and prepares his gear for an ambush against Mei Chuanqiong at midnight without realizing it’s all part of a plan leading him straight into the Underworld.
Lastly, Zhu Ganglie and Mr. Yuan (Yuan Xun) plan to set off at eleven o'clock with Li Ji to ambush Kitagawa Kai first. They intend to use Li Ji to concoct the antidote on-site while exchanging it for Dracula's Tooth—the pendant!
This way, they leave behind evidence linking Kitagawa Kai and themselves along with Mei Family members; even if Wa Country investigates later, all blame can be shifted onto Mei Family. Meanwhile, Zhu Ganglie will obtain his coveted Shikigami from Kitagawa Kai; after consuming it, he will possess half of a perfect Shikigami. Once Zhang Chuanhai is found by Yuan Xun, his perfect Shikigami will be complete. At that point, Zhu Ganglie won't spare even Yuan Xun because the ghost of a Geomancer is truly a treasure worth having.
However, the only variables in this situation were Xiao Yefeng and Zhang Chuanhai. The involvement of this human and ghost would change everything, especially since Xiao Yefeng planned to arrive at the venue by eleven o'clock at midnight. This thought introduced a flaw into Zhu Ganglie's otherwise perfect arrangement. Similarly, Xiao Yefeng did not anticipate that Yuan Xun would personally assist Zhu Ganglie, casting a shadow of doubt over what had initially seemed like a flawless plan.
At present, all parties were preparing in their own ways, each filled with confidence in their seemingly impeccable plans. Yet, no one could truly know how things would unfold; everything would be revealed at midnight.
Meanwhile, Xiao Yefeng had completely mastered the attack method he had created. After several experiments, he discovered that his technique was surprisingly practical. Initially, he believed that humans and ghosts were separate entities; attacks meant for physical bodies would not affect ghosts, and vice versa. However, through an unintentional trial, he found a way to combine the two.
Looking at the battered wooden stake before him, Xiao Yefeng nodded in satisfaction. He then turned to Zhang Chuanhai and said, "Brother Zhang, it seems that without your Eerie Energy assistance, my Psychic Blade is much less effective!"
"It shouldn't be like that; without Eerie Energy's support, this thought blade is far more useful against humans!" Zhang Chuanhai was also surprised. During his battle with that Spirit Tamer, he had felt something similar, but only after experiencing it firsthand did he realize how effective Xiao Yefeng's self-created Psychic Blade truly was.
Gently tracing the deepest mark on the wooden stake, Xiao Yefeng remarked, "It's a pity that such an effective attack can only be used a few times; any more would exhaust my Divine Power!"
At that moment, Zhang Chuanhai glanced at another wooden stake lying in the corner and couldn't help but frown. Then both the human and the ghost restored their powers in preparation for the night's actions.
As the sun set in the west, Liu Yiyi and Mei Mo'er had previously arrived at Mei Family Old Residence but were kept there by Mei Yulou. The Mei Family was preparing to confront the Zhu Family openly, and Mei Mo'er was not suited to roam outside. As midnight approached, Xiao Yefeng entered the living room of the Mei Family. "Yes!" they replied.

With that, Xiao Yefeng drove off in a car that Mei Chuanqiong had already prepared.

In contrast to the combination of one human and one ghost on Xiao Yefeng's side, this group was larger. As the planner of their operation, Zhu Ganglie was surprisingly behind the wheel himself. In the passenger seat sat Yuan Xun, wearing a duckbill cap. At that moment, he was dressed in a long robe that concealed his inner clothing. Surprisingly, even at night, he wore sunglasses, making it impossible to tell whether he was asleep or engaged in something else.
In the back seat, a woman dressed in a kimono and made up like a ghost sat respectfully. Her face was as pale as paper, adorned with blush on her cheeks, and bright red lipstick accentuated her cherry-like lips. Her eyebrows were drawn into two round dots, giving her the appearance of a ritualistic Paper Man, exuding an eerie and sinister vibe.
"Li Ji! How is your special antidote coming along? I don't want your antidote to fail against that old fellow Mei Baizhu!" Zhu Ganglie was feeling quite pleased with himself but still found time to inquire about his plans.
"Steel Lord! Please rest assured! My Stinging Fragrance Bug liquid is absolutely fine. I have already taken the special pill in advance. When the time comes, my antidote will neutralize the poison from my Stinging Fragrance Bug liquid while allowing the user to be affected by my chronic poison. Steel Lord, Chieko is my benefactor; for her sake, I am willing to forsake the throne," the woman in the back seat said excitedly.
However, Zhu Ganglie interjected, "Enough with the nonsense! I promised my mother that if you help me complete this plan—if you help me kill Kitagawa—I will take care of it. Consider it a favor owed to my mother!"
Hearing Zhu Ganglie's words, Li Ji visibly brightened and quickly replied normally, "Steel Lord, you can trust me; I will definitely complete the mission!"
Silence fell again in the car. Yet Zhu Ganglie couldn't help but think to himself how foolish she was to still believe that his mother was her savior. Hmph! Lost in thought, Zhu Ganglie nearly crashed into a tree by the roadside. Fortunately, Yuan Xun reacted quickly; he yanked the steering wheel just in time and then kicked Zhu Ganglie in the waist angrily. "Kid! I don't want to die with you! Drive properly; otherwise, don't blame me for being ruthless!"
"I'm sorry, Mr. Yuan; it's my fault!" Zhu Ganglie restarted the car and obediently refrained from overthinking. However, deep down, he harbored intense resentment towards Yuan Xun, who had done him such a great favor.
Zhu Ganglie thought: Once you help me complete my Shikigami, I'll be the first to devour your soul and use you as a Geomancer to honor my Shikigami.
